  1. My personal preference is that both feel great, I just do not like the dot instead of the sight line. I just could not get good alignment with the Circa 62 so I sold it.
  2. I think this is what it was. I went to the range today and worked on a drill which takes the position at the top thoughts out of my head and just focuses on weight shift and getting to my finish. I hit the ball much better aside from the few hooks. Thanks for all the help keep them coming cause I always like new drills.
  3. You are talking about height not launch. More spin may climb high but has a lower launch angle. Like Erik said, if you have high spin with a high launch it will balloon like crazy. A low launch low spin ball may not stop on a green.
  4. I seem to be pushing everything right about 10-15 yards of target. No slice, just a straight push. I assume my swing is on the correct path and I am just not closing the face. Anyone have any drill that I can work on to get the club face closed or ideas of what else would be causing this. Thanks!!
  5. Because wedges get used so much that I only buy new wedges, and usually, I can get them locally at the same price after shipping as new wedges from Ebay. If I were to run across a new wedge that was for a good price, that would be another story. Good luck!
  6. I agree! I have only been scammed once on a $20 shaft and the other 30 items I bought off ebay were great. It is hard to pay that extra money to the golf store. I do buy some things from the golf store to stay in good graces with them, but clubs (other than wedges) come from Ebay.
  7. I go with a square back foot because I think it makes my right leg more solid and creates more torque in the back swing. I have never had a problem with not enough turn, maybe to much at times.
  8. One of my biggest faults in my swing is when I start to think about what my wrist is doing. I have found that if I have the proper posture and a smooth back swing, the wrist take care of themselves. Also, I found out through video that what I THINK is cupped at the top is really flat, and what I THINK is flat at at the top is really bowed. I am talking about my own swing and your may not be the same, but may be something to look in to. Good luck with the changes and be patient.
  9. First thing is that you are hitting golf balls with flip flops on. Tenis shoes, if no golf shoes, will offer better balance and stbility through the swing. Secondly, I strongly agree with reading a book to learn the fundamentals of the grip, stance, and posture. Third would be to make sure your weight is getting over to your left side and you are not hanging back through the swing. When you are just starting, I would suggest plenty of range balls focusing on posture and taking half swings. Good Luck!
  10. I am going to go back this weekend and hit some more putts with it and if it still strokes it well I will sell my Cameron Studio Stainless (plan to buy a Mid Slant Select) and buy the Spider in hopes that I get used of the look. If I can't, then will just sell it in July when I get my new Cameron. Thanks for the insight. I agree that if it lowers my score, I could get used to anything!
  11. Someone help! I went to the golf store today to hit the Odyssey White Hot Tour and the Cameron Red X3 to add a mallet putter to my bag for a bit of change every so often. I quickly ruled out the Odyssey, I just do not like the feel of the face. I was enjoying the Cameron until the store employee comes over and starts talking about the Taylor Made Spider. I hit a few putts with it and it was amazing. I was trying to mis-hit them on the toe and heel and it still rolled good. It felt very solid through impact and has a good weight to it so there is no loop in the stroke. BUT... it is UGLY, really ugly. I know that you do not make putts with the look of the club but that is a tough pill to swallow. Please someone tell me if you get used to the look of this thing after you start sinking putts with it. I will hit it a few more times to make sure it is as good as I think, but do not know if I will be able to get over the look.
  12. Grip: I tend to get my right hand to far on top of the club and my palms do not face each other. This causes me to not square the club face consistancy. When my palms face each other, I have a better feel for where the clubface is throughout my swing. Tempo: I tend to get to quick with my lower body which gets the club stuck on my downswing. Although I know I am not actually doing this, but the feeling is that my club beats my lower body through impact.
  13. I have a buddy that hits a big draw/hook. Recently he took a lesson and the guy told him he needs to fly his right elbow to straighten his shots. On the other hand, I try to keep my elbow tucked against my body to avoid going right. This may not have anything to do with why Quinney does this, but I find it interesting how two people can be working on the exact opposite things, both to straighten their shots.
  14. I have to agree! I love Titleist, but there is something about the feel of Mizuno irons.
  15. Has anyone tried these wedges? I just watched the infomercial and was curious if they really are legit. I have heard good things about the utility club made by Ortiz so figure the wedges should be pretty good, but can they compete with a vokey or a cleveland. For $150 p/club they better be pretty darn good.
  16. I bought my son a set of Cleveland junior clubs when he was 4mo old and he drug them around the house for a few years until he could swing them. When he was 2, and could swing the club, I started in the back yard. I moved to the driving range at about 2.5, then last summer (3.5) I took him to the course for the first time. I went to a course that I knew would be jammed up the whole day and while we were waiting on our next shot, he would drop a ball and hit it around. Since then I have taken him quite a few times on slow days where the course is empty and he loves it. I just got my daughter her first set so hopefully she enjoys it as much as him. Good luck!
  17. I bring my 48* PW and my 60* LW every time I miss a green. 90% of the time I use my 60*, but if I have a lot of green and want to bump and run it I will use my 48*. I was using my SW out of bunkers, but got a new 60* with more bounce so I am using that out of the bunker now. The only time I use my 54* SW is from 85-105 yards.
  18. What the heck hapened there? Keystroke error?
  19. I bought my 3 year old daught a pink junior club set, pink golf balls, and pink tee's for her birthday.
  20. You can also add tungsten powder in the shaft and pack it down to get it back to the correct swing weight. It gives a different feel (which you don't want in a Cameron) but the swing weight will be correct. I hate to say the same thing as Golfsmith, but I would go with the Select.
  21. I caught a deal on the Titleist S53 Staff bag and do not ever carry my clubs so I have been pretty pleased with it.
  22. The only thing I did not like about the Circa 62 is the sight dot as apposed to the line. I have had the Studio Stainless and the Circa 62 and I just could not get the feel for the dot. If it was me, I would go after the Studio Select. All Cameron putters will feel great, it is just a matter of personal preference in looks and set up. Good luck!
  23. I am soon to be in the same situation so any help would be great. I looked at the company that Erik spoke about in the article on building your own putting green, but they were a little steep on price. I would like a happy medium between price and quality so any help would be great. Thanks!!
  24. Here is a drill to try, it helped me: -Get the grip end of an old shaft cut about 6"-8" past the grip (or any stick about 2' long that can be stuck into the ground). -Shove into the ground at about a 45* angle and place your ball under the shaft towards the end. -Hit balls, turning your left shoulder over your right knee or behind the shaft (make sure to keep your lower body still and not to sway). Keep your hands and wrist quiet, do not think about the hinge and let it happen naturally. -Turn through to your left side. Make sure 95% of you weight ends on you left leg. This will cause the club to naturally fall into the slot and make it harder to snap the wrist. It will also help in hitting the ball first for crisp contact. The shaft is there to help from coming the outside to inside. You can also add a tee in the ground a few inches in front and to the outside of the ball and try to hit the tee. This is just something to try. I know when my swing gets out of wack, it helps me to focus on making a complete turn and getting to the left side. Hope it helps!
