  1. Living in Vegas you must have been to the Casa Fuente store. I hear that's a great store. PS I'm smoking a La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero.
  2. That ball was big in the mid 90's. That's why it's not on their website. Kind of on par with a NXT Tour. The tour models then were the Professional and the Balata. The medium spin ball was the HVC. I could be wrong about this but I'm close. Titleist was crazy then, I think they had 10 different balls on the market at that time.
  3. After somebody ran my Ping Hoofer over about 2 years ago I bought an Ogio carry bag for $40 on ebay. Best bag ever. Lighter than my Ping Hoofer. And carries just as much.
  4. I think Pam's opinions of Bri are right on. You can't play at a professional level and loose your cool like that. (ie. Pat Parez) You can't start throwing clubs around and start crying. The time she wasted on throwing clubs and balling her eyes out should have been spent concentrating on a recovery. That's what top pros do. I wish Pam wouldn't have left. She has talent and could have won that thing. I wasn't sitting in her shoes. She Probably felt like I don't need that. The Bigger question is how did Bri find out about that? I thought the confessional was supposed to be private, not to be seen untill the show. I bet Golf Channel showed it to her to create drama.
  5. That really was a good book. Even my wife read it. I really liked how in depth it was with the Ryder Cup and with Fred Couples.
  6. To be honest with you I still don't think I'm good. When on a bad day I can ham and egg a round and stay in the 70's I'll say I'm pretty good. My handicap dropped when I started taking more lessons (every other week) and started working nights so I could play almost every day. I also got my mind out of the game more. I stopped being so competitive and realized that most people can't play golf as much as I can and to feel fortunate that I can. I just enjoy the round for what it is now.
  7. I just looked out my window and up here in the Cleveland area we have snow again. I haven't played since April 3rd. I'm wondering if I'll be able to play before June.
  8. I'm not sure if technique is the right answer because his swing is the best on tour. He just sometimes gets the club stuck behind him, which is a common miss on the tour. It's not his equipment. As much as I dislike Nike, he has a clause in his contract that if he doesn't feel the equipment is up to par he can play what he wants till they get it right. Remember when he switched back to the Titleist 975D???
  9. Now I'm not a huge Tiger fan, but he did win the US Open at Bethpage on 4 days of rain and chilly weather.
  10. I used to have an Aldila shaft in an old Ping I3 3-wood. It seemed to me to be a little more whippy than what I was used to so I re-shafted it and put a UST Fairway wood shaft in and it seem to fix that problem. If aquacooled said it was right on the flex board it's probably right. I never did that. Alot of this stuff is in our head.
  11. Another thing you want to consider with bounce on wedges is how you swing. If you swing flat, less bounce is better for you. If your swing is more upright you want more bounce so the wedge doesn't dig in as much. Like someone said before, turf conditions are another factor. Bermuda fairways are much harder and might want less bounce. Did we confuse you more than you already were?
  12. I hate to use the word choke for any of these professioal golfers, whether it's Greg Norman or Phil Mickelson. These guys play on a level, physically and mentally, that non of us on this board will ever understand. I have to agree with Erik. Tiger was chasing the lead on a tough course with howling winds. Not quite a choke. And as most people know I'm not a big Tiger fan.
  13. That's a good point. It's not like Tiger was out of the tournament. I got to wonder the same thing.
  14. The Nike reps were in China hiring kids to make more clubs.....LOL.
  15. I gave it a B. I know thats not how Augusta National is supposed to be set up, but I'm a big fan of the US Open and watching players struggle to get the ball up and down.
  16. Zach has a good putting stroke. He's not easily intimidated, and has cold water running through his veins. I don't think he's grand slam material.
  17. I heard that on Golf Channel It could be wrong. It does sound right.
  18. I play whatever good ball I can get for 20$-30$ if I have to buy them. I had a friend who worked at a high class country club get me pro v1's and I'd give him pro v1x's that I would find at my club. My game isn't good enough that I can say I will hit the wedge 10 feet past the pin and spin it back. As a matter of fact most of the time when I hit it past the pin it sticks and when I hit it short it spins back. Thats why I was buying Hogan Hawks for a while and now I've been getting Maxfli Black Max's. Its all good. Last week I was playing DT Solo's and spining them back off of wedges. Never thought that would happen.
  19. I thought this guy would be good under pressure when he played in the Ryder Cup. He made some great putts and if I remember right a chip in at the Ryder Cup also. I'll bet Phil was really happy to put the jacket on Zach instead of Tiger.
  20. This is the first tournament Tiger didn't win when he was in the final pairing.
  21. I'm sure it is. I've just never seen that. It might help that Paul Casey is a Nike endorser and probably a friend too.
  22. Whats even worse is here we are 10 years later and no Gary McCord. Tom Watson is not the voice of the Masters and Hootie is no longer running the "Toooonament."
  23. I played at my course Saturday through Tuesday and the winds were just incredible. Very few trees and lots of water are a waiting disaster when you are starting the season. I couldn't even make it up on the greens. They were bumpy and slow. I'm just glad to play again.
  24. We just got half a foot of snow. Got to love Lake Erie.
  25. Thank God Nikki and Kelly got kicked off the show. Now they can go meditate and "feel the golf ball" somewhere where I don't have to see them.
