  1. I'm driving a black 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe gls. Been a gmc guy mostly, but have been very happy with the SF so far.
  2. Too hot and muggy for a long warm up. I get there 30 minutes early so my guys can divide up into teams and make the bet. But I only stroke a few practice putts, 2-3 shots with my driver and I'm ready.
  3. That's pretty wild. Can't imagine not being able to pull the trigger. I don't even take a practice swing, just a waggle and then I'm swinging away. Of course I'm not worth a damn either. ;)
  4. Putting! Going to give the claw another try this week. But truth be known........I probably need a Shrink at this point.
  5. Nicolas Colsaerts: -9 Francesco Molinari: -8 Fredrik Jacobson: -7
  6. Made an eagle 2 today as I holed out with a 9 iron on a par 4 hole. The week in not over, but I doubt I will top that shot.
  7. Played in a mini-tour pro-am held at my home course yesterday. Had to play from the regular white tees as they had a 60 age limit for the senior tees, so missed out by 2 years. Five hundred yards longer than normal for me, but shot a 7 over 79. I was proud of that considering I doubled bogeyed the first hole. I admit, I was nervous at the start. The pro I played with was 60 years old and has played with all the big boys over the years. He never made it big on the regular tour or champions tour but has won many mini tour events. He finished 16th in the Senior British Open a few years ago. He consistently hit 280+ yard drives, although the fairways were very firm. Oh yes.....he shot 68. Anyway, had a great time. Glad I didn't embarrass myself.
  8. Good point. It's a 'look at me' statement. Some people want attention no matter how stupid it makes them look.
  9. The bar is much too low for some of these guys to be on the list. Sticker shouldn't be on there either.
  10. I play at 9am most mornings. So far that has been early enough to beat the heat. And we have had a nice breeze most days the last three weeks. But tomorrow I'm playing in a pro-am at my club which will start at 1pm and it's suppose to be hot. I'm looking forward to it though. A mini-tour event(Emerald Coast Tour) and it will be fun playing with the guys trying to make it to the next level. Hope I don't embarrass myself though.
  11. Thank you for your story. I couldn't help but laugh at the "I nearly cried" part. Don't feel bad, we have all nearly cried about something concerning golf.
  12. Unless there is a cute one to watch on the leader board, I'm bored. I know......I'm a pig.
  13. I'm glad I don't live in a big city. I couldn't take a steady diet of 5 hour rounds. Now today I played in a 6 man scramble and the round took almost 5 hours. That was OK as there was a lot of socializing going on. Not a serious tournament in other words. But during the week(I'm retired) when I play with my buddies we play in just under 3 hours. We have the course basically to ourselves. We play ready golf so there is no reason for 4-5 hour rounds. Oh well........I'm spoiled. Retirement golf will do it to ya.
  14. Going to be a good one tomorrow. Wide open tournament.
  15. I was 18 when I had my first. Some 40 years ago. On a 180 yard hole with the pin tucked behind a bunker. So I didn't see it go in but I did see a lady on the next tee point in the direction of the green so I thought it might be close. Anyway, bagged it with a 5 iron. I've had 2 more since then on different courses.
  16. Someone making it to the PGA tour without any professional instructions = a lot of natural talent imo. I think he said his Dad helped him with his grip, but that was about it. And I didn't say he was stupid. But I do think he is lacking in common sense. Augusta is known as a course you can bomb and get away with it if you have a good short game. Not so much on U.S. Open style courses.
  17. Lot of natural talent, but not the brightest bulb on the planet.
  18. My beer belly gets in the way of my walking, so I use a cart. I certainly have no problem with Casey using one.
  19. I've never had a problem. I usually buy single clubs, some used but a few new ones. Usually from Dallas golf, 3balls and other sellers with lots of transactions.
  20. No. Jack was not disappointed. In fact I would imagine he was glad it was done at his tournament. The ratings must have been very good with Tiger in the mix. It was just a matter of time before he tied it, what better place to do it.
  21. I try to support my club pro and he's usually competitive on price. However my driver, 4 wood and hybrid was bought off Ebay. But everything else including bag was purchased from my club pro.
  22. TGC has already denied it. And it is hard to tell who said it. Might be someone in the truck handling technical stuff. I doubt we will ever know who said it.
  23. Shot a 75 this morning which is a big improvement from an 84 earlier this week. But my round went south as the day wore on today. I birdied the first 2 holes but my iron play was ragged after that. Made a lot of good par saving putts, otherwise I would have been in the high 70's. Got to tighten up my short irons.
  24. Sorry for your troubles. I wish you the best.
  25. Not a bad swing for just 10 months of playing. You look like you take the club a little too far inside which will promote a hook imo, But there are better swing analyzers here. As far as what driver to buy, I would go take a lesson or two from a pro and he will be able to give you some ideas on the proper driver for you.
