  1. No. Shallow face and deep face refers to the height of the face.
  2. I think that only a very shallow faced driver might have a low enough center of gravity to hit well off the ground. With a deep faced driver you would be hitting the ball well below the center of gravity.
  3. You are right. I expect that some of my impacts are slightly off center, but certainly not enough to affect my score on any hole. If you define center as not being even one millimeter off, then I don't think anyone could do that consistently.
  4. I don't know that you need drills. I just use body/eye coordination, and I seem to always hit center of clubface. A problem that some players have is that they look up before impact, and may also come out of there posture before impact.
  5. If you want to swing inside-out, make it easy. Use a closed stance.
  6. "dragging my arms through the swing" That's a good thought, and you can do that consistently with your lead shoulder, as explained in the Golf Swing Master Key instruction.
  7. It sounds like you are hitting somewhat of a knockdown shot. For a normal shot your hands don't need to be way ahead at impact. One to two inches will do. However, if your shots are better and more consistent with your hands further ahead than that, by all means do whatever works best for you.
  8. My only experience with a laser range finder was a small Bushnell ( a Scout, I think). Very difficult to bounce it off a flag at any more than 100 yds and the flag needed to be all white or a solid bright color. If you are going to buy one, I think a "money back if you don't like it" would be a must.
  9. I found some magic swing instruction. At least it seems like magic because it made good, consistent ball striking so easy for me.
  10. I liked the "Stepping On Spongebob".
  11. Looking up before impact. Focus your eyes on the turf just behind your ball, and hold that focus until well after impact.
  12. I would not waste my time. I think it would take a few thousand emails about the same thing to get their attention.
  13. Feet Together Drill. Hit balls with your heels about 1 inch apart. See if that helps. If it does, you might try playing with a very narrow stance.
  14. A+ I have been using this method for many years.
  15. Lead wrist cocks. Trailing wrist hinges. However, with a close to neutral grip, the back of the lead wrist can be completely flat at the top, or the inside part of that wrist can be cupped. It depends on how much you rotate your lead arm, hand, and club in the backswing. Some players do better just using the natural rotation that occurs. Others do better using what feels like 90 degrees and results in that cupping of the inside part of the lead wrist. That may even be natural for you. You should experiment to see what works best for you to get your clubface back to square at impact. Some players even restrict the rotation which results in a bowed lead wrist at the top. I would never recommend that.
  16. I let the momentum of the clubhead cock my lead wrist as I am changing directions with my lead shoulder. Obviously, there must be a very slight pause in changing direction, but I do not pause any more than that. The timing of this transition is very important. I feel the momentum of the clubhead pulling against my lead shoulder at the same time that I am starting a smooth acceleration into the downswing with my lead shoulder. A swing can be easily ruined by getting too quick and not allowing a correct transition at the top.
  17. In the dtl view, I can see that your trailing arm is away from your body at impact. You could have an arm swing that is getting a little ahead of your body movements.
  18. When you have an arm swing that gets ahead of your body movements, you cannot swing correctly through impact. You will leave the clubface open, or close it, or flip it. Those are the three problems you mentioned, all caused by the same thing. Since you are hitting your irons okay, you could be just overswinging with your metalwoods. If you have any interest in the instruction I use, do a web search for "golf swing master key".
  19. Left wrist at address would be personal preference or whatever works best for you.
  20. Who gets to decide what proper alignment is? I use an extremely closed stance, but my clubhead path is only slightly inside-out for my normal shot. I think you are getting some good advice here about doing what works best for you.
  21. It occurs to me that if a player actually uses a pure SBST stroke, a putter with a 90 degree lie angle would be needed, and that is against the rules.
  22. I can roll the ball the correct distance much better with a light putter. I also have no trouble rolling it where I am aiming. Now, if I could read the breaks correctly more often.....
  23. Best if there is someplace you can go where they have the electronic equipment to determine the best driver shaft for you.
  24. I am a swinger, but I do not pull with my left arm. That's a death move. I pull with my body.
  25. Try "The Golf Swing And Its Master Key Explained", by Noel Thomas. It teaches a body powered swing with lead side control. I have been using it for over 2 years, so obviously it is the best instruction I have found for me.
