  1. Im fine with ride-along fees. Its another person taking up space on the course and if someone has a rider, thats another cart or more foot traffic out on the course. Personally, I dont understand what someone would want to go along with a golfer of average ability and watch them play. On the courses that I play, theres quite a few wives who tag along with their husbands when they play. None of the husbands are all that good and Ive even see instances where the women are pushing a baby in a stroller the whole time. Its quite comical to watch, really. Its like, do you really not have a life that you cant find something better to do or are you that insecure that you feel like you need to tag along with your husband to make sure that he isnt cheating on you? Honestly, if my wife told me that she wanted to go with me and watch me play golf, Id flat out tell her no and tell her that she can find something better to do. Luckily, my wife would never ask because she thinks its lame too. Hey, to each their own though, right?
  2. Other than the AD333, Ive never felt the love for Srixon. I really wanted to like them but theyre just very meh for me.
  3. Forums in general tend to be a tight knit group because people talk to each other all the time. Im a member and regular contributor on pretty much all of the major golf forums and TST is right up there with any of them. Its kind of funny how pretty much every forum says they are the best but really theres plusses and minuses to all of them.
  4. I cant help but wonder if those kids who he gave money to will have to give it back.
  5. Just like any other relationship, when you feel things arent working out, its time to move on.
  6. Its interesting to see Mizuno going back to sliding weight technology, which they had long before the SLDR came out, BTW. (Mizuno pioneered the technology with their Fasttrack drivers years ago) I am a bit surprised to see them coming out with another JPX driver, when in the past theyve alternated between MX/JPX drivers and MP drivers. Perhaps they are abandoning the concept of a player's driver.
  7. At the end of the day, if she is happy being his wife and loves him, who cares? Sounds like some people are just all butthurt that they couldnt land a hot wife. Honestly, even if she just loves the money and prestige of life as a PGA Tour wife, who cares? At the end of the day, if it were me, all that would matter is she was in my bed every night, not WHY shes in my bed every night and whether or not shes going to someday find someone better. Duff's wife is hot and I say good on him for it. We all should strive to marry someone who is out of our league.
  8. Depends on the situation. Trying to hit over trees is a high-risk shot and I tend to prefer to hit a low, stinger that goes under them, as I feel its an easier shot to pull off consistently.
  9. A mallet isnt going to be a magic fix-all. Ive played mallets and Ive played blades, I can miss putts with both.
  10. Around here, the golf courses have been packed so far this season, so Id say golf isnt struggling in my neck of the woods. As with everything else, the downturn in the economy has hurt golf but I wouldnt be so quick to jump to the conclusion that golf is dying.
  11. Im not sure that custom built shafts that are custom tuned for your swing are really worth it. Sounds like the fitter is trying to make a quick buck off of you. Id go to another fitter and go with a set of off the rack shafts that fit your swing but which you wont be upcharged for.
  12. For me, greens that are brown or have been recently punched are bad greens. Unless you play high-end public courses or at country clubs, thats just something you have to deal with sometimes though.
  13. Thats why I love my JPX-800s. When struck well they feel like a Mizuno iron but are forgiving enough for when my swing is a little off. Id love to play a set of blades or player's irons but most of the time these JPX-800s almost feel like cheating.
  14. I think he will always cry. He's just a crier and thats OK.
  15. Ive used the Superstroke 1.0 and 2.0 in the past and theyre nice. Im not sure that it really improved my putting though. You might experience more of a benefit with the bigger ones like the Fatso though...
  16. Not a fan. I dont appreciate the crying, the Bible thumping and the know-it-all attitude about his swing.
  17. Ive actually been really interested in the Bridgestone True Balance but am hesitant to lay down $200 on one without trying it first and I havent found any locally yet. The concept is certainly interesting and it makes a lot of sense in that you can feel the putterhead better because of how light the grip and shaft are by comparison.
  18. Id agree that its a matter of people overestimating. Also, people tend to take the longest distance theyve ever hit a club and that becomes the norm. I do kind of laugh though when someone who says they only play golf a few times tells me that they hit their 9-iron 150 yards and their driver 320.
  19. I show respect to those who show me respect. Youve shown me none, thus you get what you get and have no one to blame but yourself. You can look up all the great quotes that you want in an attempt to make yourself seem superior but the simple fact is that youve had a history of an arrogant, know-it-all attitude where youve made it clear that you know more than anyone else does. Perhaps instead of attacking, insulting and name calling; you should make some clear, valid, logical points to support your beliefs.
  20. There isnt 1 answer to this question. It depends upon the lie, where the flag is and how soft or firm the greens are. If the ball is sitting up and the greens are soft, I'll pull out my 58 degree, open up the face and hit a flop. If its a tight lie and theres some room to let let the ball run out, I'll pull out my PW or 9-iron and hit a low little runner.
  21. I always laugh when someone says that because despite his Mizuno love, Crossfield plays a Nike driver and a Ping hybrid.
  22. With how competitive and deep the fields of the PGA Tour are nowdays, I doubt we will see it.
  23. Talk to me about, "wusses" if it ever gets up to 100* in Wisconsin. You guys all retreat into the a/c when it gets above 75.
  24. My Mizunos live in a Sun Mountain too. Theyre perfectly happy there, although they keep temping me to buy a Mizuno staff bag.
  25. Its not that it isnt possible, the course simply mandates carts to speed up play and so that they can make more money.
