  1. I'm not assuming anything. Trust me. I know.
  2. This doesn't make sense. As I said, he has used the Nike One Tour since late 2007 and starting full time in 2008. The current Nike One Tour balls have of course, been out since 2008. So he was using a One Tour ball before it was released. Nike is developing and releasing a new ball this fall. Much like he did w/ the One Tour's, Tiger is using a prototype ball right now that will be released to you and I later this fall. Funny............
  3. Well, instead of throwing "crap" on a wall and hoping something sticks, folks should with-hold speculation while knowing basically, nothing. I don't know, just my opinon. You bet!
  4. My goodness people................ (sigh) He's using a prototype Nike ball that will be released later this fall. He has used the Nike One Tour ball since 2007. Before that, it was the Nike One Platinum. Figure it out.................................
  5. I have no problem w/ the "old" guys and I think some of us are guilty of being a bit too harsh and sterotypical w/ the seniors. I'm one of those "testosterone fueled" 20 something year olds and yet the seniors that I've played w/ and have seen are actually pretty darn good players. Will they hit it 300 yards? No, but they keep it in the fairway and their short games are great. I've been humbled a time or two by a senior playing partner. I don't know. Maybe it's just my area or my course, but the seniors around here are serious, good golfers.
  6. Which brings me to another quirk............. the "liar". Guys that you golf with a few times a year and have a pretty good idea of how good they are, but who can't help but tell you how good they've been playing. (Without you around, of course) "Yeah, you should have been around last week. I shot an 84. The week before that I shot an 85. I don't understand what's happening today." - As they're on pace to shoot a 98 all the while looking bad doing it. Yeah, I believe you shot that 84 & 85 guy. I also dated Jessica Alba a year ago.
  7. And like some other folks, I'm almost kind of roped into playing w/ the guy. He's been a good friend since high school and is relatively new to the game. However, he and others like him need to a bit more of a realist when it comes to their golf games. What's that quote? Insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results.
  8. How about the "denier"???? Golfers who aren't that good and should know they aren't that good but will throw fits and clubs thinking they should be doing a lot better during a particular round. "SOB, I just can't drive today". "SOB, I just can't putt today". "SOB, I just can't hit my irons well today". No buddy. You NEVER could drive, putt, or hit irons well. Go work on it. In the future, relax, enjoy yourself, and take it in stride. BTW, thanks for ruining my round as well by acting like an idiot because you (wrongly) think you should be doing better.
  9. I will agree w/ all of this wholeheartedly. Yep. I brought that up on the first page.
  10. Oriental is racist now? I guess I didn't get the memo. Why is the term, "Asian" okay for Korean and/or Japanese folks then? Technically, while part of the Asian continent, they're on their own island. Can/Do we call a Russian person "Asian" too then? I guess the real correct term for Japanese/Korean/Phillipeanno folks would be Pacific Rimmers then?????
  11. First off; Why the comparison between men and women in regards to dress policies on a golf course? Men are SUPPOSED to dress differently than women. That's true in any case. The OP's initial "complaint" is why the men have to adhere to a more "strict" dress code than women. My simple response is; "So what"? Oh no, the men have to wear pants and (usually) collared shirts. Yes, SOME ladies can look a bit "unprofessional", but the ladies that are doing that SHOULD be dressing in that way. Do we really want to see C. Kim in a snug fitting collared shirt w/ a short skirt? I believe the ladies do a fine job by themselves in wearing what's appropriate for each one of them.
  12. Wait, Kobe raped a woman?
  13. For someone who said the Pro doesn't/shouldn't get in the middle of this is wrong, IMO. The pro is an employee of the golf course and one of his jobs is to address concerns/issues/problems of "his" golfers and whatever may occur while they play. Something like this would qualify under that line of thinking. As for how it was handled. I disagree w/ the pro and anyone who says it was handled correctly. If the pro decided it was necessary for a face to face meeting w/ whoever he thought was responsible, the pro himself should have personally went and tracked down the "offenders" and brought them back for a meeting w/ the motorist. If the club has insurance and the pro is familiar (which he should be) w/ what transpires in a case such as a ball hitting a vehicle, I would think that NO face to face meeting would be necessary and the pro would explain to the motorist that the course would take care of him and his vehicle. In those scenerios, you don't have a motorist who just had his vehicle hit, tracking down golfers who he knows did it and the possible "unfortunate" possibility of a bad situation. Rather, in both scenerios, you have the motorist getting his vehicle fixed, the pro acting in a professional manner and no hard feelings between anyone.
  14. My golfing partner plays G10's. I wouldn't think to play them. Ugly, big, and heavy are a couple of the words I'd use to describe them.
  15. I have a feeling this poll will end up being about 50/50. How? I have no idea.
  16. My two Sumo2 hybrids are two of my favorite clubs. I can hit three and four irons, but the failure rate w/ them is higher than w/ the hybrids, so I figured why wouldn't I choose to carry something that makes this game a bit easier? I haven't looked back since.
  17. If I had a stimpmeter (how do you even get one?) I would probably do it too.
  18. I stated before. My natural swing is left handed, so I putt left handed, even though I golf right. (Yeah, I'm one of those guys) My partner's putter is RH. I tried it only a few times and putting RH, I just can't really get a decent feel for any putter. Whatever kind it is. So, I have nothing to add as to how it feels because I really can't give a good answer.
  19. Well, when I said I'm going to demand I see the SN I was more or less kidding. I said it in jest. As for me being upset? No, I wouldn't say I'm upset at all. No, I never said my intention was to "catch" a bad seller at all. I'll admit that that's not my main intention. Actually, come to think of it, I don't really have any inentions at all here. I just started this thread to ask for people's input on the subject of fake SC putters. Do I think my partner should know if it's fake? Well, you can make an argument for both sides on that one.
  20. Yeah. I think I'm going to press the issue. Perhaps at the 19th hole after some drinks. Anyway, keep in mind I haven't "confirmed" that what he has is a fake, I just have my suspicions. And from reading some more on the topic online, and in getting a little advice here, I'm now fairly confident that when I check it out, I'll be able to tell if it's legit or not.
  21. I appreciate the tip on the rust. He asked me for advice on what to do about it and I really didn't have anything good to tell him. I guess I've never had to deal w/ it before. haha. He and I were just in a golf galaxy just last weekend too. He was looking for a new grip for his "Scotty". I could only roll my eyes and keep quiet. haha. Poor guy.
  22. Just got my first 3 wood I've ever owned last weekend. Cobra S9-1. I tested a bunch out, and I kept coming back to the Cobra. As you can probably tell, I'm a bit partial to Nike, but I pulled the trigger on the Cobra based solely on appearance and performance. I was booming the dang thing just short of 260 yards my first time out w/ it. As someone mentioned earlier, my home course can be pretty narrow. I can get erratic w/ the driver at times, so this 3 wood is the perfect back up to hit instead of the driver when I'm having a bad day w/ it or I'm playing a hole where I have to be dead center in the fairway.
  23. Ok. Upon furthur investigating I think I would be able to know if his putter is fake or not, just from checking a few things in a discreet way.
  24. Yeah. I'm familiar w/ the type of sites that you're talking about. I've seen them. That's another thing I never really dug into my partner about. Was where and how he bought it. He literally just showed up one day to go golfing w/ me and surpirsed me w/ his new putter that was the same damn thing as mine. "Hey, good idea partner. You have the same putter as me." haha. Oh well. But, I have a suspicion it's a fake. Hence my questioning..............................
  25. haha. But you think it's probably fake? Correct? And the thing that really got me was the part about the rusty shaft. What's up w/ that? He stores his putter w/ all his other clubs when he's not using them and his putter is the only club to get rust on it. His other clubs are nice Ping's and TM clubs.
