Too many. Grrrrrrr...

Rather be good than lucky, which is the predominant thought here. having said that, the only time being lucky is better than being good is winning Powerball. I'll take lucky in that any day.

"Other" vote here. Still hit good shots but not consistent. Can run off a handful of decent holes then put up an ugly number for 2 or 3 holes.

Goal for 2017 is to stop HI from creeping up. The plan is to work on the inside 100 yard game, and the-irons. I'm currently playing during the off-season without driver / fairway metals, ."Longest" club in the bag is a 3 hybrid. Once the longer clubs go back in the bag, I hope to get to under 12index and qualify for events as what my state association calls super seniors. Also hope to play 90 rounds this year. Hey, it could happen...

Are you a Better Golfer than a Year Ago?

@Sierra Magica Thank you. As long as the back responds to Ibuprofen, it will be 'play on'. -
Are you a Better Golfer than a Year Ago?

Honesty? No and No. Don't expect major deterioration in health or fitness but age and pain free joints and back do not go hand in hand. More mid-80 rounds than low-80 rounds for me. -
13, playing on caddy day at the course where I (1obviously) caddied.

Where do you draw the line between very good and great?
nowon replied to chris3putt's topic in Tour Talk
My vote is four.. Rory, Phil, The Bear, etc. Two does not cut it. Zach Johnson, Bubba, Jordan S, all very good. Even Jason AllDay at 1 is very good. -
The Donald is miffed with the LPGA for saying some things he did not like. In a letter to LPGA President Mike Whan, Trump took the LPGA to task for their stance on DT's now infamous comments. After noting his support for the LPGA, Trump magnanimously stated would let the LPGA out of its contract to hold the Ricoh Women's Open at Trump Turnberry. Uhhh... Donald... The Ricoh women's Open is a Brit event, run by the Ladies Golf Union. It isnot run by the LPGA. You could go to geoffshackelford site and find the story. i'm thinking posting a link may be against the rules.

Shattered Sword: The Untold Story Of The Battle Of Midway.- Parshall & Tully. Actually the 4th time I have read this book.

Most times I do not have a playing partner; this is a consequence of most of my rounds being played as a walk-on after work. Play most of my rounds on foot, thus, the cart guy does is not grumbling about me keeping him late. I also play 2-3 rounds a week, and enjoy the opportunity to play with others.

The antics of the 208th player on the OWGR (at least the last time I checked) such as f-bomba and the annoying dropping the cub over his shoulder rates #1 in egregious behavior. Club tosses by the current #1 on the OWGR is #2. Jordan Speith's deprecating remarks rank Way Way Way Down And Maybe Even A Whole Lot Lower Than Here.

Shot 80 today, the ugly way. Par is 71. Shot level par (first time EVER) on the front nine. :-D Slogged my way to 9 over for the back 9. Being 7 over for 5 holes sunk any hope for a personal best. :-(

I was B-fit for Bridgestone E-6 golf balls. Jordan Speith -8 Ricky Fowler -8 Justin Rose -8

For those of you with push carts . . . .
nowon replied to Dables's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I have the SM Speed Cart V1 and an older model SM Four5 carry bag. The bag weighs in at 5.5 lbs, a bit heavy for a carry bag, but has individual club dividers. Yes, the bag does twist a bit when on the cart; no biggie, I have more important things to occupy my mind while playing. The bag is not loaded down - probably a dozen balls, tees, etc and a rain jacket. Add a bottle of water to the necessities, please. I generally use the cart during warmer/hot weather. I found that carrying when the course is soggy tires me less. I'm not a fitness nut nor a young buck - not at 65, anyway. -
Does moderate drinking help loosen up your muscle to play better golf?
nowon replied to rkim291968's topic in Golf Talk
I got my first (only) ace on the 7th hole. Stopped in at the turn and had a shot of bourbon. I double-bogeyed the 10th. Lesson learned. -
1- Having been through this sort of thing, I have used a hybrid or a fairway metal where there is not a dramatic elevation change between the lie of the ball and of the putting surface. Using a putting stroke, I eliminate the thin and chunked shots. You would be surprised how quickly you can pick this up on-course, then head to the practice area for work as recommended by others. 2- As for the cause, I offer this mis-quoted wisdom from The Yogi of Berra: "Ninety percent of this game is mental and the other half is physical"
