I've always kind of liked him and wish he would win a major. he's animated and emotional and very human like, compared to some of the robots and others that lack some social skills. Some day he'll be a very interesting ryder cup captain, I guess I see a little Sevi in him. Anyone who dislikes him, I encourage you to watch the GC Ferehty episode where Sergio is interviewed, he came across as very genuine person.
I've always liked him as well, he doesn't pull any punches, and I feel is honest in his statements.

Bubba thinks acting disrespectful and ignorant is ok, cool or funny, sort of a spoiled kid trait, and not very Christian at all. Not much to like there if you ask me. He certainly doesn't give credence to southern hospitality, manners or charm. In fact I can't think of anyone less charming in the PGA.

Tiger Woods Announces Return Date, Will Play At Congressional

Tiger will play Thursday and maybe Friday and then withdrawal. Take it to the bank, he's out just testing his back and swing in a competitive surrounding. And when he withdrawls watch the Newswires light up. -
Thanks, that makes sense.

Can we as early pickers change our picks as these guys come in at the last minute and poach the number 2 and 3?
-
And which many agree as well. The pro's all gear themselves to peak at the major events....winning more of those than anyone else puts you on top. Winning a bunch of tournaments doesn't get you in the hall a fame, but winning two majors will.

That's my view, my opinion, it may differ from the herd, that's the point of a forum, to hear the different sides of a debate. If we all followed the herd on everything then we would all be communist, or worse----Liberals. Ha Ha Ha

While its tempting to argue strength of field or equipment, etc, the fact remains, major wins and finishes is the hallmark of pro golf, Wins-Jack has 18, Tiger 14. Add the 46 top 3 finishes by Jack and I think the question answers itself. Additionally remains to be seen if Tiger regains his former self. Talk to me when Tiger has 18 wins, and a bunch of top 3 finishes. Till then I think Jack remains at the pinnacle of pro golfers.

Exactly, that pretty much says it all, 46 majors with a top 3 finish, unreal.

Geez no hard feelings there, enjoy your cross to bear.

Unfortunately the media acts to create as much interest as possible and thus drive opinion by juxtaposition toward guilty until proven innocent. Side note, adding fuel to the fire is having a professional gambler involved with a professional athlete in an unsavory activity. Innocent until proven guilty my folks, let the investigation take its course.

I'm thinking next time I will wait and enter just before the start so I can cherry pick the number 2 and 3 spots.

Tiger is the only one worthy of a Logo, only Tiger can wear red and black on Sunday, Tiger this and Tiger that.........Geeeeeezzzzzzzzzz, can you say Bromance! Personally I'm enjoying a vacation from Tiger, and I'm not looking forward to the media feeding frenzy when he returns, which he will.

Once Rory learns to separate his golf game from his personnel game he will be what you say.

I thought yesterday was good, the Masters and the Players championship were interesting, and I expect the US Open to be as well. The Fed Ex finals should be interesting again this fall, the Ryder Cup too.

I use a Bicentennial Silver Half dollar,or Bicentennial Quarter has markers. 1976, a great year in my life. I prefer the Half dollar as its easy to grab out of my pocket and easy to spot when looking across the cup to the marker to judge the slope.

I always wondered about writing down the GIR stat for each hole while playing . Can't GIR easily be deduced from the hole score and putts, eg par 5 hole, the player par's it and 2 putts, thus must be a GIR. Or same Par hole but 1 putt, then not GIR. At the end of the round simply review each hole and determine total GIR for the day.

What is your biggest pet peeve you see people doing on the golf course?
Snowfly replied to PA Golf Info's topic in Golf Talk
I came off as a bit more harsh than I intended. I get using them, but when I'm playing behind a foresome and each cart is using one, and they stop the cart between the two balls, range finder guy walks over to one ball, gets the distance, and not always quickly, then walks over to his partners ball, does the same, then each go back to the cart and take mulitple clubs to the ball.....thats the most recent case of what bothered me. It was quite the circus. Since then I have been a bit down on range finders. Oh yeah on the pars 5's they were using the range finders on the second shoot, they were 250 from the hole, no way was the green acheivable for them, but range find away they did. -
And I hope the PGA sticks to their guns on this. I don't want to spend my time watching guys range find the distance.

I will add over use of range finders, someone that ranges every shot all the time, and does it slowly, makes me roll my eyes. Frankly I enjoy estimating the distance, based on the yardage pin, the hole flag placement relative to the center, and the angle of my shot respective to indicators. I can usually get to within 2 or 3 yards of what the range finders dudes tell me. Distance estimating and club selection is part of the game skill in my view. Range finders are for the lazy, in my opinion.
