  1. Hockey- Lots of similar muscle groups used in shooting and a golf swing-plus a lifetime of hockey lends itself to a strong base and good balance. Yoga-has really helped my flexibility. Softball just kills my golf swing-I figured out last summer I can either have a good softball swing or a good golf swing, but not both.
  2. I wouldn't buy a used wedge online, but I've had really good luck at golf shows on used wedges. This spring, I got the wedges in my signature for $45, and they seem as if they were used for maybe a year.
  3. Oh, how I love my SS 3.5. My only complaint, is that when my swing is grooved, its not shorter enough than my driver to be a layup option.
  4. Great choice. I've had one for two seasons now, it has well around 200 rounds on it, and not a problem at all.
  5. A good wedge swing will leave you with some curlies to pick off the ball, but nothing to make it unplayable. And, at least it stays white, unlike when you shred a Pro-V and have that ugly yellow staring out at you.
  6. I'm at the course most days. Probably play 90 holes a week on an average week.
  7. They just aerated our tee boxes this week, and it sucks. They haven't cut them in about a week, either, so there's plugs all over, and long grass. More bothersome to me is when the tee box is 45 feet wide, and they put the tee markers like 10 feet apart, and find the unlevel spot to do it.
  8. Exactly the same reason I use the Epoch tees. I bought a bag at the start of the year, have played somewhere around 80 rounds, and have at least enough to last me the rest of the year. I'd have more if my regular playing partner didn't need to borrow one every round. I've broken exactly one. I lose them sometimes, and I've had a few "wear out"-the edges of the top get rounded over and a ball has a hard time sitting up there. But yeah, I enjoy the simple fact that I can throw one tee in my pocket and go.
  9. They keep greens like that? I thought it was some sort of fungus/virus. Our greens get a touch of it in the spring time, but it gets remedied pretty quickly.
  10. Yes. My game went missing sometime between the end of my round on Saturday and when i stepped up to the first tee today. Not completely gone, but it was a struggle. I scored ok, but a lot of lucky shots. Thin 8 irons running up next to the hole, pulled wedges getting great kicks, etc. At least my chipping and putting where there, but anything outside of 10 yards was a complete crap shoot. I know what drove it away, however-over swinging and getting lazy with my lower body. I'll give my irons a nice warm bath tomorrow, and give them and my woods a week off. Hopefully they'll forgive my transgressions and bring my game back.
  11. For me-I stopped going out and trying to hit the ball and start trying to play golf. It finally clicked for me that smooth is fast, not fast is fast. I've added distance AND accuracy, but more importantly, consistency with my swing. That, and thinking "3/4" with my iron swing-I'm no longer over swinging, hitting the ball just as far, and a lot more accurately. Now, just to start sinking some birdie putts....
  12. Sometimes I'll get into a bad funk of doing it with my 3 Wood off the deck, and its almost always because I've let the ball creep forward in my stance.
  13. Not really. I played in a scramble yesterday and used a cart for the first time since I've had this bag (2 years). My bag is near worthless on a cart-it won't stay in oriented in a way that reaching clubs is easy. The pockets are a pain in the butt to get to on a cart, and the valuables pocket is almost completely unaccessible. Which is fine, for the two times a year (maybe) I use a cart. But if I was cart bound, I would definitely not use a stand bag (or at least MY stand bag) every day and put up with the hassle.
  14. After getting my new (to me) irons, I'm extremely happy with my gear. I also recently refinished my putter, and I'm back in love with it (the black finish was wearing off, so a few minutes with a wire brush on the dremel and its looking like brushed nickel). The only thing I would change is my 52* wedge-I'd like to get one that matches the look of my other wedges a little closer, and maybe move to a 50 or 51.
  15. I have a small microfiber cloth that does a good job of drying my hands-both on sweaty and rainy days. I also have one of these for disc golfing that I've used, but I tend to keep it in my disc bag and just use the towel for ball golf: http://everything-disc-golf.amazonwe...source=froogle
