  1. had a chip-in from the sand today. don't remember ever doing that before.
  2. i usually hit a few balls before each round to get a rhythm going but today the range was full, so I just putted for about 30 min before teeing off..... and i shot my best ever, 88.
  3. 88. considering it's my first time breaking 90 i'm pretty damn stoked about it! had 8 pars, by far my most in a round, and shot only 5 over on the back nine. pretty pleased with myself. hopefully i can follow it up.
  4. thanks for the advice guys. i feel that losing focus like this is my biggest problem. hopefully i can work it out.
  5. haha i used to be like this. chomping at the bit to get out onto the course, play the first few holes pretty well, get excited- maybe even overconfident, then screw up the back royally and get mad at myself afterwards wondering why my front is 10 strokes better than the back. i've been trying to relax a bit and shift to my carefree attitude that i have to most everything else, but it's so damn difficult! haha. i'm not sure i have the mental capacity to play golf well.
  6. There was a panoramic picture in the 2008 USGA yearbook of Tiger making his putt on 18 at Torrey Pines on Sunday to force the playoff that I was in, clear as can be. I thought it was pretty cool haha.
  7. haha played with both of those kinds today.
  8. the guy who hacks up a hole, neglects to finish it, and tells everyone to "just mark me down for a 7". then later he announces that he just broke 90. hey, i hack up my fair share of holes, but i write down the proper score afterwards.
  9. haha it happens to all of us
  10. looking to shoot in the 80s and hopefully make it a habit. scared 89 a couple times but haven't quite made the breakthrough yet.
  11. my first round in about 8 months. shoot 98. blahhhhhhh probably hit about 2 good shots on the back
  12. I've seen this before with similar results. don't know what possesses some coaches to keep trying it. If they wanted to gamble at that point already down by a lot, why not keep the offense on the field? surely the offense has a better chance at scoring than that sickly play does.
  13. how's "the lost symbol"? I'm going to read it eventually because Angels and Demons and Da Vinci Code were two of the best books ever but I just want to know if it's a "must read as soon as I can" type of book.
  14. How do you know if they never get the chance? Boise State beats Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl. Utah crushes Alabama in the Sugar Bowl just last year (a Mountain West team beating an SEC team *BCS and kennay collectively cringe*) I suppose after that, the BCS will no longer give teams like these a chance for fear of its own demise to be replaced by a playoff. sigh.
  15. he's not missing any golf this time of year. he should be back in action at Torrey Pines as usual.
  16. I played Puakea when it was a 10 hole course. Of course, it's probably changed a lot since then (other than the addition of 8 holes) but I thought it was a fun little course. Lots of sand if I remember correctly. I do regret not playing Princeville while I was there.
  17. The best game of the lot. But it irks me to no end that we'll never see if either team can beat a Cincinatti, a Florida, a Texas, an Alabama. Because as far as the BCS is concerned, Boise and TCU might just as well not exist. They get off really easy by making them play eachother, we'll never know if they can beat the best, and the BCS will continue to have excuses as to why they lessen the achievements of 12-0 teams year after year. (Don't forget, 12-0 Boise played in the Poinsettia Bowl last year.... that's right, the Poinsettia Bowl.)
  18. Hey nice to hear about you chubbs. I'm also in Seattle for the time being going to school at UW.
  19. damn, that's the life right there
  20. Where ya from? I'm currently at college in Seattle but am from the San Diego area.
  21. I know where you're coming from. My vision isn't bad, I have never played with my glasses and don't plan on it for a while. But I do lose the ball sometimes when I hit it over 180 yards or so. I know I'll eventually need some assistance in seeing in the future but am not looking forward to it.
  22. damn, obviously hope he's ok.
  23. they were sorry about it (or at least pretended to be) but who the hell hits to the green when someone is standing on it? i really don't know what they expected to happen.
  24. Yeah I do this too sometimes. it's really weird.
  25. Got hit square in the back on the fly from some guys behind me who were so eager to play the hole they didn't wait for me to clear the green. sheesh.
