I play with a guy quite often that out drives me by 30yd on average, I've lost to him once, tied another time, and beaten him more times than I can count. All his clubs go further than mine, but he's never able to hit the green in 2 from behind the trees. I might have a 180yd approach on longer holes but I've hit those enough to where I can leave my 5i somewhere near or on the green. Typically I fall a bit short, chip onto the green and 2 putt for a bogey. He typically hits it about 290yd, always ends up on the right side of the woods, plays it back into the fairway, misses the green, then 2 putts for a double bogey. Unless you're playing 500yd+ par 4s distance is irrelevant to me. Even a small hitter like me can reach a 450yd par 4 in 2, or at least be somewhere near the fringe. If I put all the power I have into shots I can drive it that far too, but I'd also end up behind the trees like him. Just ask his checkbook which style is more favorable to winning.

Anthony got back to me within 1 business day and apologized for the bad experience and said a new dozen would be shipped out. Mistakes happen, I get that, but they handled it quickly and to my satisfaction. Knowing they take care of their customers, I will most likely order another few dozen, pink this time? LOL

Accuracy. Just look at what happened to Tiger. LOL

I don't think anyone is washing their hands in piss so sure.

I've seen quite a bit of love for this site but after my first order I'm quite disappointed. I ordered the 2014 1st grade balls. When I got them, 5 were logo over runs and 6 already had player markings, no big deal there, I'm not picky. Then I started looking closer. 3 balls had what I would consider substantial cart path damage. Definitely too much to consider putting with them so I put them aside as practice balls for the back yard, where my other cart path balls go. So I had 9 balls left, 2 looked quite dingy but other than that they all seemed to be in order. I played a round with one and noticed around hole 12 that it had a crack in the coating. Strange for what was said to be a 1st grade ball but I pulled another out and finished the round. I play that ball through the next round but I didn't check it's condition throughout the round because I figured the crack was an abnormality. Guess what? I went to start another round after that and noticed it too was cracked. Long story short I played 2 more of them, both of which also now have cracks in less than 2 rounds, one cracked after 1 hole when I played at Pinehurst this weekend! First hole I had ever played with it. I've never had this problem with Pro V1 balls before so I'm assuming it's a result of them being used or refurbished from LGB? Has anyone else had this experience? I plan on sending them a similar message but I wanted to make sure my experience was not typical before I expect to be compensated for my lousy order.

Yes I saw your post about other Donald Ross courses in the area and I'm certainly going to check those out as well, but I'm honest enough with myself to know another trip to Pinehurst is in store, but to be honest, my desire to play the restored #2 is minimal, except for the historic aspects of competitive golf. Thanks for the help Dave!

To Dave, I've heard from many players that #4 is their favorite course. The current walk on rate for #4 is $240. Would you agree? Planning another trip down there soon.

I've heard that the G30 is the beez-neez but I've yet to try one myself. I find them used for around $200.

I never see new Mizuno forged irons in a retail setting for less than $1k?

Man was that place amazing, I miss it already! Definitely a different caliber of golf down there at Pinehurst and people so kind it even amazed me, a native North Carolinian. Of course I'll have to get all my Payne Stewart poses uploaded next. Thanks guys. :)

First time playing here and I'm glad I get to start with #1 on a beautiful Saturday morning. I can't wait. My experience will be much better than my score. Tee time is 11:12 but I'm about to head out early and check out the practice facility. Many pictures to come. :)

Turns out they have a dealer about 30 mins from where I live. I might give them a try for no reason other than to say I did.

JP hit the nail on the head.

I have the same type problem. 3w carry is about 220 on good strikes and driver is about 230. But, my driver always fades and my 3w stays straight so the driver doesn't see much action these days.

I also use the Razr Fit so this is good news for me. -
How Often Do You Replace… Your Wedges?
danL replied to iacas's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I play around once a week and my sand wedge wears out pretty quick. I've had this one since August of last year and it's already looking pretty rough. -
That does sound like a good tracking system, but with limited funds for tracking gear, I think it does pretty well. If I had $1k+ to put into gear I'd go with a watch and tag system myself.

It really doesn't take long at all. I track all my shots (putts, fairways, greens, clubs, etc) with Swing by Swing and I'm always done with my app by the time I get to my next shot. It takes less time than waiting on the hacker in front of you to find their ball.

Bubba Fans:Ping to sell 5,000 pink G30 Bubba drivers
danL replied to boogielicious's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I was going to say the same thing. Sounds like a marketing ploy labeled as a good deed. -
I'll be sure to take lots of them!

I'm always on my phone which doesn't show handicaps. I also don't play with anyone on the forum. For those reasons it doesn't matter to me. But I'm currently at a 19.5 HCI.
