  1. Six Degrees of Separation is a fabulous play in general...I've always felt they gave the Oscar to the wrong actor. IMO.
  2. I cried when the dog died, but it all went downhill after that Will Smith movies - LOL - anyone else see Hancock? My opinion won't spoil the movie, but in case you're sensitive it's blindfolded, too. Oh my God. Watch the first half, then do yourselves a favor and skip the rest. Another really stupid ending You done trying to watch Reaper?
  3. Eh, different opinions I guess.
  4. Iron Man? Last night they played "Cool Hand Luke" on TCM...that was very amusing! Reminded me a lot of "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou" but better (and with less Clooney head shaking).
  5. That's awesome.
  6. YES! I think it's not just reading too much, but getting the right mix...you have to do some studying but also some just getting out there and playing. And not only playing and whacking balls, but consciously drilling with good form. Just like in school, some folks are so book smart that they have no practical skill, but also vice-versa.
  7. You don't think they got a touch lucky having the incredibly clutch Elam and a shallow kick from the overconfident Bears?
  8. I looked, I'm not finding one. I promise it was bland, unemotional, and seemed perfectly civil if you didn't listen to the content.
  9. Today we watched the PBS debates to be Texas' US Senator. The answers were kept short and time was left at the end, so they went into a "wild card" round with a mixed bag of questions from the panel of moderators. The challenger, Rep. Rick Noriega, D, was asked this question: "Has it occurred to you, 200 years after Abraham Lincoln's birth, that Barack Obama will be deciding who sleeps in the Lincoln bedroom?" We were stunned, poor Noriega too. He made a fine enough comment that anyone should be able to stand up for their beliefs, etc etc, but I believe this comment was unabashedly racist and an embarrassment. Others I've asked think the question was dumb, but not necessarily racist. Does anyone else have an opinion?
  10. The two of us here find it pretty much useless fluff. IMO.
  11. Aw...I'm sorry, but life gets even more disappointing than that.
  12. Hm, candlelit supper or vacation in Hawaii? I'm having the darndest time deciding... Bradpet, I like your style.
  13. Keep with jabs like that, and I'll tell you what I'm carrying... Left handers are in their right minds...yeah yeah...but I'm right handed, so that means...I'm in the mind that's left!
  14. Oh, the humanity! Poor oil companies aren't making their record profits anymore. They're now convening to stop this from happening. Cartel will gather next month as demand for oil keeps sinking "...the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries may curb output. OPEC said today that it will hold an emergency meeting on Nov. 18 to tackle the drop in prices...OPEC is "very likely" to cut oil production at the Nov. 18 meeting in Vienna because prices have fallen "dramatically," the group's president, Chakib Khelil, said today. The group, which is responsible for more than 40 percent of global oil output, had been scheduled to meet next on Dec. 17 in Oran, Algeria."
  15. I just had an image pop into my head of a... Blingo Wallet!
  16. T.O. in all his glory
  17. Ken Lay style suicides, perhaps. Oh, wait, "sudden, unexplained deaths."
  18. That's Lehman, not Wall Street as a whole. I'm not criticizing anything in your editorial. You seem to know quite a bit about the issue, so kudos! I am thinking, though, that the average Joe with some money tucked away in Mutual Funds for retirement isn't going to lose his proverbial shirt.
  19. Right Iacas, golf is definitely a game... but I don't think it's a sport. I have a hard time qualifying anything you can play in dress pants as a sport. I work my butt off dancing for even a few minutes, no one has called me an athlete.
  20. See, I don't think that's a good metaphor. Building a house and watching it burn to the ground is "wiping out the gains of 12 years." Wall Street is more like a rollercoaster, you fall, but you haven't burned the thing down.
  21. You have a typical golf color palette?
  22. Aw, give it a chance, this whole BS will fade, and you'll be in a lot better shape with MFs than high risk stock. I really don't believe this is permanent.
  23. As I think about it, I have. (Not intentionally.) Nonetheless, I can promise you, for some strange reason, the combo has no magical powers. (I may be negating the effect with my pastel pink shoes.)
  24. I'm glad, sounds like a class act. (Don't worry about apologies, you were miffed. They need to know about these things so they can fix their system.)
  25. Aw thanks, but I found it. Just moved here, I don't know where city hall is yet either... Did you know, in Texas, a felon can vote? I guess it's more common than I thought. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpag...54C0A9629C8B63
