  1. Just added 3 in white to my Vokey wedges. Very tacky and a much softer feel than my usual Multi-compounds. They are very nice for close in stuff also with the glove off.

    $ Signs

And the local pro playing regional comps may not even get all his equipment free. A pal of mine (pro) qualified for the british open about 3 years ago (Birkdale) Taylor Made approached him on the range and invited him to come to the tour van he came away with everything he wanted, but no cash and finished the first 2 days 1 place from last, John Daly was last.
  3. I did a week with a society bases just outside Edinburgh about 15 years ago. We played 36 a day for 5 days all around the Firth of Fourth, North Berwick was the best course we played and can't recommend it enough, we actually played the second course in Berwick which I remember had a great par 3 elevated tee overs sea and rocks to the green. I'll see if I have a Scottish golf guide and post some contact numbers later.
  4. I thought the hair / hat was to cover his large ears.
  5. What ever. I walk straight to the ball when I hit it straight. I am not going to argue with you, I play a very dry heathland course that runs well. Yes I carry in the air about 230 at present and my swing isn't the finished article.
  6. Take a look at the golfloftuk.co.uk, This guy will source any clubs you want, I got mine from him.
  7. Powakaddy Freeway 2. It has a digital display that reads distance. It will measure distance from tee to ball, distance of the course I am playing and total distance the trolley covers in it's life time.
  8. I don't believe you will be able to alter you usable swing speed very much at all. You are either fast or not. The best you will get from gym work is a couple of miles an hour unless you are really out of shape. My coach is part of a very well known major winning Irish golfers team and I have been told a certain Irish golfer worked on club head speed for 3 years and gained about 3mph. I appreciate that once you get to a high max speed that improvements are hard to come by but if you are 95mph as you say that is a pretty good swing for an amateur golfer. I guess you want club head speed to increase your distance? But with that speed and a good swing with good weight transfer you should be able to get 260-270 yard. I average about your speed and see those distances, and they are measured distances with my electric trolley so they are real. Work on your swing mechanics then try to add speed.
  9. I have been wearing some old e wires recently and seeing better scores after reading some articles about wearing glasses can aid concentration and focus, the only problem with them is getting them to feel comfortable when wearing a cap.
  10. I am taking my holidays in Naples 16-30 June. I want to play at least one round while there but don't know where to play. I will have a car but want to limit my traveling time to about 30 mins from downtown Naples. I want to play a mid priced course where I can rent some clubs as I have decided to leave mine at home this trip. So where should I play and it would be nice to play with someone, so would somebody like to invite me to play with them? I am 40 and have been a club member for the last 6 years so my course etiquette is good and my handicap is currently 11.5. I don't want to play on a weekend but can play any weekday, and may prefer to do an early start as I am guessing the temps are going to be pretty high during the day.
  11. I have been using the red black white one for a couple of months. I have found the rubbber club dividers leave marks over all the shafts.
  12. Surefit is their fitting tool, ie the clubs on the Titleist cart, they are legal for play so I think that is what that refers to. I can't imagine Titleist would do an adjustable driver when they believe so much in fitting. But I might be wrong, some fitters are talking about adjustable drivers.
  13. I am hearing a lot of good things about KBS tour shafts in AP1 and 2s They aren't a titleist option (i don't think so) but are meant to be very consistent over the project X. Search www.mygolfperformance.com for further info on the above.
  14. Paddy, where do you play? I am Dublin based, a member at Druids Heath.
  15. Ball position!!!! What club are you hitting? Your ball is way too far forward it should be much more towards the middle of your stance with the club handle pointing at your belt buckle. Too try and cure your massive reverse pivot think about keeping your knees over your feet at address, as you turn into your back swing your back knee should stay over your foot but the right knee can rotate to the inside of your front foot then the opposite on the down swing, weight shifts forward but still keeping your front knee over your foot and the back knee can come to the inside of your back foot. You need to go on youtube and watch a stack of swings, no one on there will have a swing and ball position like yours.
  16. What is the weight difference on the shafts? As andef says torque has an effect on launch angle and the way it works is face angle. I have recently been using Dcomp with too much Torque which made it impossible to hit left and easy to slice as I release my hands late in the swing that high torque shaft meant I was coming in open and sending the ball right. You want the right answer go and find a fitter with the right set up and try it. Are you anywhere near Austin? if so google Ryan Crysler, top Titleist guy.
  17. Too many magic mushrooms I think.
  18. Anyone using the above driver? I have had mine for about 14 months now and to begin with got on well with it, and still do really. My swing has changed quite a bit since being fitted for it, when I bought it my launch angle was very low. With my improved swing I think the Dcomp is maybe too forgiving??? what I mean is I cannot for the life of me draw it, power fade very reliable but that fade spin eats up the roll on landing. So my question is, does anyone who has one draw it? or does it correct everything into a fade?
  19. There is a Titleist player / coach who youtubes and tweets a lot called Ryan Chrysler. He has been doing a lot of work with PX Rifle shafts and KBS recently. He was unsure with the consistency of his PX 6.5 and got them frequency tested and discovered some of his shafts were way out one there was a variance of about 1.5 in the stiffness across the set, ie some where weak some where strong. He is now testing KBS, so all you PX users out there if you have an iron in your set that performs unusually maybe get a frequency check.
  20. I too always wanted to carry my bag. Although I am a bit older than you started getting back problems and feeling tired on the 17-18th. I changed to a push trolley and that made life easier and meant on hot days taking extra water / food wasn't an issue. I changed clubs last season and my new club is 7000 yards up hill from the 14th to the 18th and was really noticing how tired I was at the end of a round. Over Easter I bought a PowaKaddy Freeway 2 electric trolley and have had my best 2 rounds this season using it.
  21. Saw the Title of this post and just new it had to be a british post. But in his defence, if you hit it like that and couldn't win how would you feel?
  22. Yes I use them with my AP2s. Don't like them but they keep the clubs in good condition and the value up as I normally part exchange my irons about every 18 months.
  23. Project x are on twitter, send them a question
  24. I got a nasty blister on my finger last week:)
  25. Actually just watched again and slowed it down and don't think what I said was correct apart from the over swing. Nice Swing.
