  1. one more thing that goes w/ my first comment. to the people complaining about having to wait and saying it affects their game, do't let it affect your game. i used to get furious if i had to wait and if people were waiting for me because i was waiting but then i realized that it doesn't matter what the people in front of me are doing. it only matters what i am doing. plus waiting gives me the time to take in the beauty of a course instead of breezing right through it. doing this has made my game ten times better.
  2. iacas, the key word from uuassistant2009's post:fans. those claims that baseball is too slow are made by people who aren't fans of baseball(trust me i have had people argue that against me after telling them i play baseball). so by making this argument you are saying that you are not a fan of golf. and to the OP the use of dollar signs and asterisks only makes you look like an idiot.
  3. i agree 100% w/ this. yes maybe they should have let you play through but guess what if they don't let you they don't let you. instead of worrying about that and how "horrible" they were just focus on your game. everyone wants to improve and the only way to improve is to focus on your game. the group in front of you was probably just out playing because golf is fun to them(like it is to every one of us on this forum). i have also found that it is fun to play w/ people that don't care about their score because they don't let the little mishaps get to them. this is their escape so they are going to make the most out of it.
  4. 42 from the tips at a par 35 course. better than yesterday. i still can't hit my driver straight so far this season so i was hitting a 3 hybrid off the tee on every hole or i was in the trees. had a couple shots at birdie but missed them and i missed a par putt by an inch on the fifth.
  5. first action on a golf course(i've been to the range) this year and i shot a 45 on 9 holes.
  6. i have uconn, mich. st. , pitt, and oklahoma(just because i hate nc and duke for that matter). then i have pitt and mich. st. in the final w/ pitt winning 78-70
  7. those are awesome. i respect him alot more now
  8. dude you know you were once a horrible golfer too.I only hate playing with golfers that play slow. I don't care if they hit it 3 feet as long as they get up to it and hit it. On the original topic i am sorry to hear that. Now i am paranoid whenever leaving my bag.
  9. I'm not really in NOCO but i am north of Denver(Broomfield)
  10. i would try out the nikes first. and if you do like to buy clubs(same here) then maybe buy them but say that if your schedule opens up next year then you'll buy the membership. what course is it at? I know the broadlands does this and it really helps. Also if you're looking to improve your game then think about which one would do that.
  11. All good clubs. I would also recommend the Wilson Staff Di7's. I just started about a year ago and I love them.
  12. you don't seem to get my point either. when these 20hcps practice they just try to swing as hard as they can at it. mechanics mean nothing. they are not trying to get accuracy they are trying for distance. like i said in my earlier post tour pros work on mechanics to get the right amount of distance and accuracy, not just distance. yes the 20 hcps might be hitting it 300+ but it is probably 300+ in the trees on the right.
  13. you guys do realize that even if they hit 1000s a week they are still mainly focusing on iron play and wedges right? tour players never start with the driver, in fact they almost always end with the woods. The time before that is spent on irons wedges and putting. When they do work on the driver they work on mechanics to combine power and accuracy(just like evry other club). What do you think these 20 hcps do. they go up to the tee and smack the ball as hard as they can possibly hit it without worrying about accuracy.Plus none of this really matters if the 20hcp is strong enough to hit 300 yard drives. (Most of them probably don't average 300+ they just hit 300+ sometimes and screw up on the rest)
  14. becksfan2185 it doesn't matter what the tour players do. they work on every aspect of their game whereas the 20 hcp players that hit it 300 yrds probably only work on the driver. Plus I know many 20hcps that have started playing golf after playing another sport(like football) for years so their bodies are strong and in shape. and no I don't lay claim to a 300 yard drive, more like 275-280.
  15. most high handicappers focus just on driver when they practice because they think that is what makes them good when in turn that is actually hurting them(ie:+20)
  16. I am doing exactly what you are doing after not having any trouble last year. I working on not coming over the top and this is making huge improvements. I wouldn't worry about releasing your wrist yet just get your plane right first. Like someone said before if your grip is right the wrists should release without effort.
  17. 4 wedges Wilson Di7 PW Wilson Di7 GW 56* 60* I figure why not promote the best part of my game, my chipping(only because i can't really slice it while chipping)
  18. A black dot on the upper left side of the swoosh and a black dot on the lower right side of the swoosh. both sides
  19. I would actually keep my current bag but with a Burner TP. I would change my putter to an two-ball putter
  20. Shoot consistently in the 80's(I'm using brand new clubs instead of my dad's 20 year old ones so I should make this one) Lower Handicap My putting needs improvement Make golf team Get less than 30 putts per round Try different shots(ie: bump and runs, draws, fades, more low shots, more high shots)
  21. This is the one i'll be playing this year http://www.thebroadlandsgc.com This is the one I started and played at this year (100$ unlimited golf through school) http://www.eagletracegolfclub.com
  22. For me I focused on just transferring my weight sooner making it easier to hit down on the ball but you might not have the same problem I had
  23. Burner 07 10.5 Bought myself: Di7 4-GW irons Can't wait to try them out but there is snow on the ground . Maybe this weekend but definitely by next week
  24. Personally I would go w/ the 2007 Burner because it is good technology for cheaper.
  25. What I Got: Arrested Development Season 1&3(already finished both) hilarious show 30 Rock Season 1 The Battle Of Los Angeles Taylormade Burner 10.5 degree Walter Hagan MS2 Bag Carl Hiaasen's Downhill Lie And an XBOX 360 if I get straight A's next semester What I Bought: Wilson Staff Di7 4-GW irons
