We where a threesome and they refuse to let anyone play through, its a group of 5-6 foursomes on the course together. I guess if one thing has happened since I originally posted this reply is that all the paying players , ones who pay top rate quit going there and that course has since closed , big over grown field , bad for all but that bunch of clowns has broken up because most hate driving to other courses.

I personaly use a 16.5 degree 4 wood and two hybrids a 21 and a 24 degree which allowed me to put another wedge in the bag to have a 4 degree sepperation across 4 wedges

Well not this year, I work in Anderson and they held training camp there at Anderson University, and something like 83,000 went there over 2 weeks, compared to they said 20,000 last year at Rose Hulman. Any way I live in Alexandria north of Anderson and if you get the chance Royal Highlands south of I-70 at St Rd 109 in Henry Co. well that is a real nice course, in Anderson I play Meadowbrook, and Yule in Alexandria....both decent courses.

Head gear without model advertisements
Hitman replied to B-Con's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
My favorite visor has the brand name on it without a ball or club logo on the side.......because my favorite brand is Jim Beam, and well they do one thing, back a bad round better at the end of the day. JMHO -
No 3's in your bag unless you're good?
Hitman replied to drPheta's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I guess that I do not carry any 3's in the bag, I carry a 13 degree 2 wood, 17 degree 4 wood, and a 19 degree 2 hybrid, and never play a # 3 ball as they always seem to find the water....mind thing, but no 3's in my bag so I must be bad, or maybe better than I thought because I play that 2 wood off the deck and get about 230-240 with it -
Srixon Trispeed Tour - Demoed
Hitman replied to delav's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I tried the TriSspeed Tour first liked everything about the performance, but seemed to give up some distance off the tee with driver. The Tri-Speed flat out flies for me with all my clubs, driving farther and straighter than ever before, but the greenside spin seems to be lacking with all chip, pitch shots releasing on the green and sometimes that has been a bad thing. Having said that the local club had a dozen of the new Tri-Speeds on the shelf with a free towel, and I bought them, so I will have to adapt to the greenside feel. -
Another real nice pair of shorts are sold at Kohl's they are the Grand Slam shorts. Very light , breath nice, and don't cost to much. I bought mine on sale for 21.95 on sale, one pair off ebay for 12.95 and will be getting more in the future. The coolest ones are dark navy with light blue pin stripes

Your favorite course in Orlando
Hitman replied to Doctorfro's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
Another very nice course very close to Remmington and Kissimmee Bay is The Royal Links of St. Cloud. 27 holes very nice well maintained and not bad on the price. I have played it more than any other course while in Florida and with the practice area and layout of the course, this one is well worth a look. -
My biggest and only agravation factor is, the men's club at my local course. They take the best tee times, almost all day, then play little choose up's every time , and now they travel as a pack to one ball at a time standing behind it stroking each other off, then make a crap shot, then repeat again down the hole 3 more times. Saturday I play a "fun round " in a lighting quick 5 hrs. 10mins. Clubhouse response.....they are the reason the course is in business. Yeah I get mad enough to hit someone when clowns like this are ruining a good day of golf.

I went to this tourney last year , walked 3 days and watched many players and I'd say Kenny Perry . He played this course good and is set's up well to his draw. With the exception of I think 2 - 3 bad shot's last year he would have been right there on Sunday.

Golf Galaxy Horror Stories?!?!?
Hitman replied to ohiolefty's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
In any retail busines you will find people who only want to be Salesperson of the week, month, year no matter what it takes. I have to drive 45 mins. to the Golf Galaxy in Indianapolis, which is right next door to a Golfsmith. Golf Galaxy is usually higher in price on most items but I have found something nice about them that no other store has. I am an Advantage Club Member (free) and scan my card with every purchase which get's me discount coupons , every 300 points I get 10.00 voucher, so here's how it worked out , I had a 50.00 off coupon over 250.00 and 20.00 worth of vouchers plus an extra 100 point coupon. I purchased a Sky Caddie SG 3.5 for 299.00 less 50.00 coupon, less 20.00 vouchers and the bonus points meant I bought the Sky Caddie for 229.00 out of pocket and with the purchase and point coupon got 400 points which meant another 10.00 voucher in the mail, so I don't mind shopping there, but I don't put much stock in what the sales people have to say about what I need. -
Hand held GPS - where's yours?
Hitman replied to Jay-Bird's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I walk but use a push cart and mine is clipped to a bracket that screws right to the center of the carts handle. Always right there when I walk up to the ball. -
If I fish there it will have to be on the way back, there is about 10 - 12 inches of snow there now. I had planned on leaving Monday but I-65 south into Kentucky was and still is a mess. Tomorrow come what ever though I'm headed south
-
I am leaving this weekend from snow covered Indiana for Okeechobee FL. and will be there until there's now chance of snow in April around here. It's been in the high 60's to almost 80 there, with rain this week. By March it get's real nice there and I will be hitting it hard. I'm way over and done with all this snow
-
Or like today, need to practice before heading south , but 10 inches of snow yesterday, last night kind of make it un-desireable

I like the Phil Mckelson Short game DVD, but not every thing on it is for me. I am not much with a big flop shot, but the pitching and chipping part are great.
-
Here's a problem I hope no one ever has. I am leaving for Florida next week from the frozen tundra of Indiana, and I will be there for about 2 months. I can tell you that I will spend more time fishing than golfing while I'm down there. Most of my time is doing chores for parents and neighbors that age has caused problems with , but 80 % of my free time will involve trying to catch giant Crappie or "Speckeled Perch" as many call them. That is my biggest addiction , a cooler full of big slabs

I went to the Indinapolis IN Golf show last weekend, it was ok, Got some info on a few courses in other states i'd like to try. Found a good deal on some Taylormade gloves 3 for $18.00 , and the best part here was the Manufactors demo area, paid 5.00 for a small bucket of balls and got to try the r9 TP irons and love the feel, but most of all hit the Cobra ZL driver with the VooDoo shaft. I like the feel of that new driver allot

I purchased my Sky Caddie SG 3.5 this fall, and for the life of me I don't know how I lived with out it. I mounted a bracket on my push cart, walk up to the ball and there it is, distance to green , bunkers water everything. no more looking for sprinkler heads etc. Can't speak for any other brand but the SG 3.5 has the same face, color screen as the SG 5, but it uses 3 AAA battieries, I bought rechargables and a charger and it is by far the best thing I have purchased.

You can take this for what it's worth, I was listening to a Titleist rep at the Golf Galaxy open house, members sale just before Christmas and he was talking with a Ping rep and a guy from Bridgestone about this after most of the customers had left. He told them the the Cobra guy's, Oglilvy, Villegas, and Poulter , where swithing to Titlest this season and J.B. Holmes was going next year, but he wanted to keep his Cobra ZL driver. I don't know if the Cobra line was going to be used for guy's just coming on tour, he never said, just that the " Big " names in the Cobrs stable where all going over to Titleist exclusivily. This was what I heard from a sales rep.

Wear both visor and cap, but any time the weather is hot, I will allways opt for the visor. I have Poulter type hair wether I want it or not and when it's hot under the old ball cap in the heat of summer, the old hair do looks more like an oily rag, so I stay with the visor to keep the sweat head to a minimum.
