  1. Due to the lighter weight of graphite shafts some modifications need to be made in order to make a steel shafted club and a graphite shafted club play to the same swingweight. One alternative is to add weight to the clubhead through hosel weights, the other is to make the graphite shaft longer. Since it is easier and cheaper to make the shaft longer that is why graphite shafted clubs are often longer than steel shafted clubs.
  2. Don't have to look pretty to go straight. I've seen players with the prettiest swings who have never broken 85 as well as super ugly swings that can crack 80 every time.
  3. Forgot to mention. These putters were not able to crack the so called "premium market" so they're extremely cheap right now... Here is a catalogue of some of the Wilson Staff KC putters, http://www.wilsonstaff.com/media/wil..._usa_2531f.pdf and here is a close up version of one of his putters, http://www.amazon.com/Wilson-Staff-C.../dp/B0007QLA60
  4. Is Sergio Garcia an "ignorant little brat"?
  5. Care but don't care at the same time otherwise your temper will overcome you and you'll end up playing miserably.
  6. I have no idea why people are so obsessed with "tour issue" equipment... http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=74788
  7. Very good. Has a soft and slightly woody feel to it when hit solidly. Hit it off centre though and you'll know it immediately. Plays to 34" and feels a lot heavier than most other putters out there even when using the lighter weights. Good for those people who have the yips especially and makes the putt a true stoke rather a hit due to the weight. Grip is good but not sure if it is possible to get it replaced due to half the weighting system being installed in the butt end of the club (the other half is in the head). Finish is quite durable. Most other putters/clubs I've seen that are of a similar color wear off after a few days/weeks. Mine has been used for a few months and there has been no change.
  8. - legs are too straight at address which means that weight shift will be made more difficult during swing. - balance needs some work. On some swings it seems as though you are falling forwards. - arms are too stiff which means release of club during swing is going to be inhibited and misses are going to be predominantly to the right. - work on your tempo and rhythm. Much easier to control clubhead when there has been a smooth acceleration rather as opposed to a sudden one.
  9. Should also try Noodles and Laddies (if you can find them). They spin just as well as premium balls on wedge shots for me.
  10. No doubt... I recently started playing golf again after a bit of a break and for the first few holes could only hit drives about 200 yards because I was nothing but arms. I realized what was happening after the second hole and then regained 60-70 yards...
  11. If it was Callaway then it was the FT-i. If not, then there are a lot of squares (Nike, Callaway, Orlimar, Nickent, Ram, etc...) out there now so I couldn't be entirely sure...
  12. Does a player choke due to his swing/mental issues/other?

  14. Go back to fundamentals. Get your grip right first. A good guide is available here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3h7KINXHUUY Then get your posture right. A reasonable guide is available here, http://perfectgolfswingreview.net/AddressSetup.htm Get your swing plane correct, make sure that halfway back into your swing the butt of your clubshaft points at the ball (when viewed from behind). Finally, start the downswing with your lower body.
  15. Very easier to hit. Did not really like the feel of them though (wasn't a really solid feeling of compression, more 'click, clack'). Would much prefer a set of Callaway's to be honest. Go to a demo day though. The only way you'll ever know whether you like them is if you hit them.
  16. "Tour Tempo" ( http://www.tourtempo.com/ ) also do one of these type of devices... You can sample the contents on some of the "Tour Tempo" CD's here, http://www.tourtempo.com/tt2.html . For the most part, I think they're just plain too distracting to have running in the background. I'd much rather just a metronome running in the background...
  17. Tried a heavy putter. No distance control whatsoever on long putts. In fact, several times I put the ball further away from hole from where I originally was. Guess the reason for this is that unlike most other people I rely on hands and arms more than shoulders to control my putting stroke. The weight of the 'heavy' putter simply did not allow me to do this.
  18. Same with Big Lex. Not too much variation. If anything, the ball stays about 1-2 inches for all clubs except for driver).
  19. Other thing you could try is light grit sandpaper. Takes off the outer slick layer exposing unused rubber below.
  20. Could try a "satinising mop", http://www.hswalsh.com/itemdetail.aspx?i=T78689&c;=501 else I used fine grit sandpaper and then a buffing machine on mine.
  21. No serials can also mean ex-demo or European clubs. Not sure why they don't serialise some European clubs...
  22. Nike CPR. Has one of those ugly scoop back crowns (like the Hi-Bores) but is extremely easy to hit.
  23. Take a look for yourself http://www.golfdigest.com/search/que...Type=nonparsed
  24. 270 yards with driver. Only marginally missed out on a hole in one... 310 yards (REALLY DRY conditions) with 3 wood into the fringe. Birdies in both cases.
  25. Have seriously wanted to on several occasions but have never actually done it. One was due to a partner constantly attempting to give me swing tips even though I was clearly the better player. Another was due to a slow round (three and a half hours to do the front nine). The last time was when I just hadn't had enough sleep and felt like dropping on the spot at the turn.
