    Walkers??

That's the beauty of Western Pennsylvania golf! It can go from tabletop flat to don't-look-down heights in less than a mile. I absolutely prefer to walk, unfortunately at some of the tracks around here the riding carts can barely climb the hills, what chance would I have on foot? But, at the courses where the walk is friendly, I'll just meet you boys on the green!
  2. That's pretty cool! I hope the men's Open doesn't go into a Monday playoff, the girls will be missing enough on course practice time as it is now.
  3. I was going to totally disagree (especially regarding this Forum) with you until I read this next guy.... Wow, you must not have many playing partners you like playing with. Let's see, the PGA Tour driving accuracy (your fairway hit percentage) is 61%. The Tours Greens in regulation average is 64% Your tolerance threshold minimum for either category is an amazing 80%! Since we can all safely assume you hit at least 80-85% of both. You have my vote for the best golfer on the Internet! DATA SOURCE I think he's serious.
  4. What are the odds that the "second" shot was teed up?
  5. You can go cart bag without going with the bagzilla size cart bags like you've linked. I walked for years, if you insist on carrying often, then get the stand bag, if you are walking with wheels and riding the other rounds, then get a mid size cart bag. I have the NON revolver Bagboy. It holds everything, doesn't weigh a ton and yet still stands without propping at the range. I could still carry the bag if I had too, just not as easy as a backpack style bag with legs.
  6. My Daughter and her friends went to the South Side of the city yesterday. They just happened to be in the same place where the Penguins were having a post game get together. She got to meet Max Talbot and see about half of the boys & the CUP within 24 hours of the game. Here she is with Talbot. (note the clean shave) She was on the local news as well. Timing is everything!
  7. When this happens, why not just pull a couple of your own brand of old balls out of the bag and see how they compare?
  8. They look just like this. 2-3 weeks for delivery.
  9. What a nailbiter ending! Yikes! Halfway through the season I didn't think they'd be anywhere near the cup!
  10. I had this club in my bag for about 2 weeks. I was fitted for the neutral model, that' a good way to describe most of the drives I hit with the club.... neutral. The performance (for me) was just OK. Never hit a showstopper. Not one. Even though it has screw like appendages on the tail end, as others have noted, it's not adjustable. My left handed buddy has one in his bag to this day. He hits his pretty well.
  11. You should try it, first in a foursome so it's easier to track and pay, and then as more players understand it, you can expand the game to include other groups. Greenies on Par 3's are dotted like this. Of course, everyone on the green in one shot gets their GIR dot. The guy closest to the pin gets his GIR dot, plus a dot for everyone in the group, so in a foursome he would get 5 dots, in a threesome he would get 4 dots. So if you're in a foursome and you get a Par 3 greenie and make the putt, you would get: Greenie dots 5 Birdie Dot 1 One Putt dot 1 For a total of 7 dots for that hole. It sounds (and reads) much more complex than it actually is. Once you get the game underway, it's easy to track and score dots. FYI: I had two 4 dot birdies yesterday! Fairway, GIR & 1 putt. (did ya already forget the birdie dot?)
  12. I got mine about a week ago. They are exactly as advertised. Believe it or not I haven't applied them yet... Did you order them? If so how long ago? Mine took about 3 weeks to arrive.
  13. Yup. I wouldn't try it at home though. Especially if it's a Callaway.
  14. That sucks. When you do buy your clubs elsewhere, I would bring them to this shop and say, "Can you believe this, I just bought these down the street for $900 and I don't like the grips, can you regrip them?." If they ask why you bought elsewhere, say "cause that guy over there is a putz". If they don't ask, say, "never mind, I just remembered, that guy over there is a putz". People have been rude since time began. Good luck.
  15. We'll be rooting for ya! Earlier this season, my course was used as a sectional qualifier. They souped it up nicely for the boys! Just when you thought the greens can't get any slicker. DAYUM! And they're hitting from the tips of the tips. Makes a hack like me really appreciate players with talent!
  16. Unplug it, put a drop of oil on the little plunger, plug it back in, hold the unit so the plunger is facing skyward and keep dropping a ball into it to work the oil in. Might work.
  17. I agree with all of the above, I was just attempting to answer the posters original question which was: so, is it possible (and a decent idea) to get this head attached to a new shaft? And if so, is it financially worth the effort? Which is why I said: Now had he asked where he would best spend $50....
  18. Perfect example. A friend of mine gets "forced" to fill in at his company's outing He couldn't even spell golf prior to that day. He borrows his Uncles 20 year old dusty set and off he goes. He's hitting 3 wood every shot. 168 yards par 3 dribbles a grounder into the hole. Hole prize $10,000. In order to collect, he had to sign a waiver stating he wasn't a professional. I voted round under par.
  19. I've actually accomplished that very feat. I skulled an 8 iron, the ball skipped across the lake and onto the green to about 15 feet. I made the putt. My buddy was like WTF was that?!?!?!?!
  20. One more record: Guy once had a two dot 9. Fairway and a 1 putt. The two dot 7 record held for a long time before getting beaten out with the 9.
  21. Then play them straight up and take their money. Watch their "not accepting strokes" ego dwindle. Me, I'm like give me my blows sucka! We play a game called "dots". Dots are earned for good shots. Fairway Hit Green In Regulation CP on Par 3's 1 Putt Chip in's Sand Save (two dots cause you get the 1 putt dot) Birdie Eagles You assign a $ value to the dots. Start with a quarter a dot. Good shots/holes are rewarded, bad shots/jholes are not too detrimental. I've seen guys shoot in the 70's and lose dots to guys in the 90's. (not saying who ) Q: What did ya get there? A: Two dot par, fairway and a 1 putt. Put the dots in the same box on the card as the score. Add them up at the end of the round. If it's really lopsided you can change the denomination of the dots, yours are worth a quarter, his are worth 50 cents. WARNING: This game is addictive. We have dot games with 18 guys, low guy on the dot pole gets eaten up, even at a quarter. When you get into it, I'll tell you how to properly dot score greenies. For the record, a hole in 1 is 100 dots. It's been done once in my group.
  22. Properly bent, the metal will not suffer. If Callaway does it, it will be done right. (I'm not saying other shops aren't qualified, it's just Callaway is GOOD) For $30, you're stealing it! Rather than guessing, why don't you get fitted to the proper lie angle, then get them bent?
  23. Good luck with your new toy. Post the Medalist for sale, it will get gobbled up fast!
