Easy to eliminate......KEEP HANDS FORWARD and mantain flat front wrist angle. This will all but eliminate chunking chips. If you are still chunking chips consistently, you have larger issues.

I have always felt the same way. Why argue that I am not giving you a "gimmie"? If it is a "gimmie" AKA a tap-in.....go tap it in. Now, you mention lining up your putt and taking extra time.....if you (the one with the tap-in) feel like you would have to line up that putt to make it, it probably is not a "gimmie" and me making you putt it is justified. I should say I see your point about a leisurely round of match play between friends, but the rule still applies. If you are worried about missing it, 1. it is probably not a gimmie and 2. he is completely justified in asking you to hole out.

Wow, that is TRULY impressive. I dont think anyone minds a little bragging on a quality shot like that! Definitely justified!

Great synopsis of the courses. If you have the money just stay away from the muny courses, except Vettiner. Chariot Run and Valhalla are BY FAR the nicest courses. Heritage Hills, Persimmon Ridge, and Hurstbourne CC are close thirds.

yeah , I am with this train of thought. Two off the first tee, but nothing else.

I LOVE my R9 3 Wood. I hit it better than my R9 460 for sure!

The Wynn Hotel has a Championship course on the strip

No, that is a 52 TaylorMade Rac TP Y, 54 TaylorMade Rac TP Z, and a TaylorMade Rac TP Y 58......Actually! Like I said, ALL TaylorMade except for the Rife putter.

Attachment 2063 All TaylorMade except Rife Putter.

Not to be the outcast of the thread, but almost every course I play on has signs that read : "You are responsible for your golf ball, on or off the course" So, basically they are saying that if I hit something, or in this case someone, the course is not liable and I am. I am not saying you would lose this case in court, but I would check for these types of signs along with the "No Tresspassing" signs, just to have all the information.

That is hilarious!

LESSONS....LESSONS....LESSONS......wait except for....No, .....LESSONS! Lower your handicap 30x faster than the best clubs on the market.

EXACTLY what I was saying. Don't fall for the TP logo on the driver thinking you cant hit it. The stiffer and more expensive shaft is the only difference. Now the irons are different, the TP do have a smaller sweet spot and lower ball flight for lower handicaps. For advice on helping out your driving, it is really impossible to REALLY help without seeing you hit or knowing your problem (and people on here will try and tell you PERFECT advice to solve all your problems, but that is simply not true). All the lower handicap - regulars on these boards always say the same as I am saying. The one thing I can say, which was confirmed by your pro is that you definitely need a stiff shaft. If you can elaborate on what kind of problems you are having some of us can possibly give you the common faults to that problem. But, if you are looking to solve all your driving mistakes with new equipment, that will not happen. THE DRIVER DOESN'T MISS THE FAIRWAY, YOU DO! But having the correct equipment can help, but I guarantee if you address some swing or setup faults you can hit your current driver straight.

Does trajectory affect distance?
bsettle replied to Golfaway's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Trajectory does affect distance, but that does not necessarily mean that you will hit these shorter by any meaningful distance. Most players that play on firmer greens prefer the higher ball flight to hold greens. But if you are looking for obtimizing trajectory with distance...a medium-more peircing trajectory is definitely what you should be looking for. You may want to look for a shaft with a lower ball flight - like Rifle Flighted or Project X Flighted. -
The only difference of the two is the shafts. The TP is not any harder to hit; just a stiffer-heavier shaft. I would for sure recommend the regular R9 with the stiff shaft. That will match your swing speed perfectly. The TP shaft will be a little heavy and stiff for that swing speed. If you ever get closer to 115 then you can thank about moving up to 70-75g.

First of all, it COULD always be better AND someone is ALWAYS going to get screwed or feel like they did. The only way to keep the latter from happening is if someone wins all the playoff events! On your first point, events do have different points weighting. To use your example the U.S. Open does count more than the.... John Deere, for example. On your fourth point, that some people just get hot at years end, that is the same for EVERY sport. Look at the MOST successful playoff system we have, March Madness. You could have a horrible season, get hot in the conference playoff, win that and get in to the field of 65, and stay hot and win the whole thing. I agree that there should be some type of trophy for the season long champion, before the playoffs, that is a GREAT idea.
-
The FedEx Cup does not reward the person that wins the most, the money list and exemptions take care of that, but the most consistent player. If you play consistent throughout the season, you make the playoffs. Then once in the playoffs if you continue to finish high then you will have a chance @ the Cup and that is the idea.

TMBurner09....you are a 18 handicap and are hitting Mizuno blades? That is impressive, most single digit handicappers can't hit those things consistently! Those are GREAT looking irons!

The price of the round depends on the conditions that you got your tee time. Did you get on by yourself? Did your local Pro get you on? Did you get on with a current Valhalla member? The price to play is different for every one of those categories. The guy who paid 250 must have got on by himself, that is high for Valhalla. If you got on with a member, the round is only like 85. The price from you local Pro is somewhere in between those two, probably closer to 200. I have only got on with a member so that is the only one I am SURE about. The caddie is not very expensive, like 30 bucks, if you are not with a member or someone that knows the course I would get one. Tip: just try to not putt the ball off the green!

The Reds seem longer to me because of the low spin they will not balloon in the air. The Blacks are great for hitting into greens because of the higher spin. I usually, when not playing a competitive match, hit the Red off the tee and if I hit the fairway....switch over to the Black to hit into the green. I dont do this if I miss the fairway because I cannot guarantee I can recreate the correct lie as I can in the fairway. Also on Par 3's I hit the Black. For me the Red is longer than the Pro-V1's that is why I switched.

The ones i play in usually have you by yourselves the first day and with another foursome the final day. These are only the big money tourneys, the single day, charity tourneys you are always by yourselves. There is always a cheater group in EVERY charity tourney, if it pays well. You can always pick them out because there are the ones that no one knows, They are usually either a good team taking advantage of high handicappers supporting the charity and do not cheat, just should not be there OR are they cant hit the ball 220 yards and no one seems them make a putt, yet they turn in a 57!

Website where you can upload your swing video and analyze it for free?
bsettle replied to radycardia's topic in Golf Talk
I dont know about the website, but V1 Golf has a free swing analyzer on their website that you can download to your own computer. I use it and it allows you to do side by side of multiple videos, draw plane lines, circles, and just about everything you need. -
Sounds like a VERY good team. I would watch Warner close though. I would also play Henderson Week 1, great matchup for him. I have: QB: McNabb Jason Campbell RB: Michael Turner Ryan Grant Cedric Benson Willis Mcgahee WR: Calvin Johnson Reggie Wayne Jerricho Cotchery Devery Henderson Derrick Mason TE: Tony Gonzalez K: Folk DST: Cowboys

EVERYONE YOU ARE WASTING YOUR BREATHE WITH SOUP! He obviously does not understand, even if he says he does, what everyone is referring to. We are not talking about skins games between playing partners or small "dopey" prizes. You can pretty much GUARANTEE one and/or two things about him: 1. He never finishes high enough in tourney's to be robbed by these cheaters and/or does not play in them (see quote) 2. He IS one of the cheater (dont think this is him, he obviously disagrees with cheating, just to cowardly to do anything that matters about it) I play in tourney that cost me 75-150 bucks at least monthly and if SOUP can really say that he would let someone take home 300-400 dollars or prizes that are worth that much that REALLY belongs to him, then he obviously has deeper issues.......or ALOT of money.

Your favorite -- or least favorite -- golf clichés
bsettle replied to Q.Q.Quillume's topic in Golf Talk
I routinely get paired up with people that think they can the ball further than they really can because they hit it long ONCE in there life and I get this STUPID cliche when they ball is clearly twenty or thirty yards short: "Get UP!" Like it is hitting the front of the green and they JUST need it to release and not bounce off THREE straight cart paths to get there! HOW ABOUT HITTING ONE MORE CLUB after missing 17 straight greens short!
