  1. Feel might be a bit numb to begin with but you can work it back. Dont lift before a round. If possible do your workouts after golf that way youll have some time to recover till the next time you play. You didint really describe how you struggle so first youd have to identify the problem. If youre struggling with distance you just need to hit more shots its a different approach if youre thin/fat all the time.
  2. Fade is generally higher and probably a little more spinny so it doesnt land as hot.

    My Swing (Alx)

Swing has come along nicely in the last month. Were just starting to get to summer temperatures finally and its ridicilous how much easier it is to hit the ball well in warm temps. But there are some kinks I have to iron out. -Last few rounds Ive had a few hooks with the mid/long irons. It feels as my right elbow gets behind me and from there I just cant get to the ball properly. Ive a few bad swings like this on video and the backswing does look longer so it pretty much confirms the feel. Id say this is mostly about proper setup and concentrating on what Im trying to do. Something to keep an eye on definitely. -Irons occasionally feel a bit hot and even inconsistent off the face. Ill probably try some blades on the next demo day to see if theres a difference. -Im hitting my wedges and short irons very accurately on the range but I cant really take it to the course. Biggest problem I have is alingment. I just dont have anything to aim at or aling by on the course. Definitely a skill I have to work on. -Hitting off course lies. Contact is not a problem. I can hit my long irons off tight lies. The problem I have is just knowing where the ball will go when I have to hit it from an uneven lie with the toe up/down or just a plain up/down hill. Again its a skill that I just havent had the chance or swing(up until now) to work on.
  4. I would say clubhead speed probably stays pretty much the same. As you start making better contact and learn to hit the ball with proper impact conditions youll get a bit more average distance.
  5. My lowest iron currently is a 3 iron at 19 deg. Im looking to find an actual driving iron in the 15 degree range. Does anyone make these anymore? My googling has been unsuccesful.
  6. 56 - 95 52 - 110 pw - 130 9 - 145 8 - 159 7 - 175 6 - 190 5 - 200-220 4 - 210-230 3 - 225-240 D - 285 I dont really full swing the wedges or even 9-8. These are my averages from game golf apart from the 3-4 since I dont have enough shots on them for game golf to give an accurate reading. These are distances I would expect to hit of the tee or ideal lie. 3-4-5 I use off the tee and I can put a bit more force behind them so theres a range. Driver is shooting a bit too high. Going to get on trackman later this season to see if I can do something about it and get a few more yards out of it.
  7. I counted 3 holes where we had what I would describe as good greens... The rest are basically this.
  8. Agreed. General public has a skewed view of all pro sports. Tbh it probably doesnt. Theres a huge number of amateur athletes who were as gifted as the best but their bodies simply could not take the strain of performing/practicing at the highest level. Whats happened to Tiger is not as special as people are making it sound. The sort of speed Tiger was able to generate was going to break something eventually. The gym work probably helped him stay healthy for as long as he did. Pro sports are full of people who run into a brick wall with their bodies we just usually dont care about them.
  9. I dont have much to compare to so thats comforting to hear. I recall someone saying the winter was a bit harsh but tbh the greens were still pretty poor mid summer last year imo. I havent really talked about this with anyone at the course cause I dont wannt to be the douche making excuses for missing 4 footers... Ill get some photos of the greens the next time I play. This was the lie I got after a perfect drive on a par 4. I was about 5 feet off the front of the green...
  10. My putting is terrible. To say the least... I can roll puts very well on the practice greens but on course I lose all touch. I just cannot adjust to the speed being different on every single green. I mean I realize were not playing tour courses but is it even possible to adjust going from a lush green grass to putting on basically sand? Not to mention grass being patchy so you get every speed imaginable. Oh and the break? Patchy grass tufts + barren sandy ground around and the balls are breaking against the actual break. Im being told that its the same for everyone and no course is perfect but I just dont see anyone being able to putt very well with this much "randomness" thrown in. Would greens like this be considered normal? I hate to make excuses but it just feels impossible to read how the ball is going to juggle around between those tufts...

Driver adjustment + backswing work have really done wonders.
  12. I watched a few of his recent puts and it looks like he does occasionally anchor. When he doesnt its clear that the hand isnt "locked" to the chest and theres movement. But there are putts where he is just too "locked".
  13. 6'1 at 185 is pretty small. There is nothing in his physique to suggest ped usage at any point. However some peds can be used to speed up injury recovery and rehab. There isnt really much research on this for obvious reasons. If there is a ped that wouldve helped Tiger recover I doubt he or any pro athlete would hesitate to use it. Especially if the risk of getting caught was virtually zero. Tough call but based on physique theres nothing suspicious.

    My Swing (Alx)

Striking the ball really well again. Been doing a lot of mirror/shadow work to get a better feel for the backswing. Not really changing anything but just trying to figure out how the club is moving when Im doing things right and hitting the ball well. I sometimes try to force the club to A4 without allowing it to rotate and get "behind" me and thats generally when I mishit it. Driver has gotten a bit too fadey or even push fadey. Im making good contact in the center but the face is just not pointing where it should. The swing feels a lot better and its very consistent but just a bit too much to the right. Ive tried altering grip, reving, stance but nothings really consistent and I just start to mishit shots. What I eventually did was adjust the driver(duh...) to get the toe up. The rest of my set is 2deg up and I tend to grip down on the driver so it makes sense it should probably be atleast as much upright. The most the hosel can go is 1.5deg so thatll do for now. I had 1 practice session with the change and it really seemed to make a difference. Strike was good and the shape was much better. Well see how it goes.

    My Swing (Alx)

Seem to have recovered from the fatigue slump. Was striking the ball perfect today at the range. Ive been tweaking the grip a bit(again...) this week. I had been going stronger and stronger to the point where I was starting to draw shots and even hook my misses. I definitely want to keep hitting a fade rather than a draw. A mishit draw/hook is just way too long and would always end up too deep in trouble. A fade will stop better and wont fly as far if I mishit it horribly. Another problem was that I wasnt really able to use my body as much. I felt that the face was always going to point way left if I really hit one. There wasnt that much difference on video but the feel was very different. So I took the grip back a notch to a little weaker. Felt so wierd at first but it didint take more than a day to get used to. Was really happy with how I was striking the ball and how Im really able to drive hard into the ball without worrying about hitting it left. On a side note. Ive used a lot of odd angles to get to where I am with the swing. I think dtl and fo are terrible at showing what actually goes on in the swing. The 2d distortion is just too much. Dont get me wrong for analysis they are good but for someone to actually understand and see whats going on not so much.
  16. I was 24 when I started 1 year later I played my first round of under 80(79). My hc was/is 10.

    My Swing (Alx)

Was feeling very fatigued today. Back was especially tired and I had a very hard time hitting anything past a 7 iron. Was so badly off sync. I dont even remember when Ive hit shots that fat the last time... I try to avoid hitting the longer clubs when I feel this way cause I always seem to ingrain some bad habits and compensations cause Im too tired to stay in the right positions. I sometimes get some of these "symptoms" on the course but theyre manageable today was very extreme. Wedge shots I can control even when Im tired so I ended up hitting a lot of 52,56 and pw shots. Im hitting my wedges so well right now that I should really start going for a lot more flags instead of always playing for that 1/100 mishit. Old habits are just so hard to break. I was also finally able to get some of my random shanks on tape. Its very rare out on the course but on the range its a bit too common. From video it seems to be a combination of a weaker grip, setting too close and a very narrow stance. So basically just not paying attention. Sort of makes sense why it primarily happens on the range. Idk how the angles are this bad (again...) but this was mainly for checking some specific things I wanted to see so meh.
  18. Really depends on how your game is built. With a very good long game and terrible putting/short game I think you can do fairly well on any course. If you cant drive well past 200 youre going to have issues on any long course even without forced carries.
  19. This is plenty and makes sense. Usually when someones told me to eliminate the strong grip theyve meant going straight to neutral. Just wanted to clear some things up. Thanks. You have very solid things going on in the swing. A lot of the stuff youre saying Ive gone through with my own swing. Its fun seeing someone else go through similar phases
  20. I was just trying to get confirmation on what you think that specific thing causes. His balance is so far off on all of those shots that alone could cause all those inconsistencies? I mean he has like 100% weight on the lead leg at impact with no support from the trail. Trail leg even lifts off the ground at impact. Im not trying to annoy you just trying to understand.
  21. Eh... Hes hitting the shots to the right so a lot of it is just camera angles. "Closed" face at A6, at impact and past its square. Makes for low rate of closure and a stable face. Why change any of that? How does it hamper his game?
  22. Why? His clubhead looks pretty good through impact? With a weaker grip hell just have to bow the lead wrist to close the face and square up to impact? @lastingsIron swing is looking good. Driver can be difficult to tame but keep at it.

Hitting the ball very well recently. Small tweaks on the full swing have definately worked well.

    My Swing (Alx)

Past few weeks have mainly been target practice and distance work with wedges. Had to take a bit of a weather break aswell meh... Making improvements for sure. For the full swing I have made some minor tweaks. Going even stronger with the grip just feels better. The "thought" I have is to just pick the club up and drop it and everything falls into place automatically face squared and path to target. The consistency and contact are very good... but it doesnt look what Ive been told to do. I finally got my 3 and 4 irons. Absolutely love them. Dtl footage got corrupted so even this is still a bit jerky....
  25. @MidpackAfaik: The camera takes a photo left-right/top-bottom or vice versa. Basically it takes a slim slice. Now if the target is fast enough the target will be in a slightly different position in the next "slice" and thus distortion occurs.
