Thanks for all the input guys! Gas_Can, I have never heard of those putters before, they look pretty nice!. They look really similar to the Scotty Cameron line, do they compare in terms of materials used and feel as well? Alot of people seem to really like the YES! putters. I think I might have to give them another try next time im at Golftown. Thanks again!

All I can say is, I would be pretty burned if I was the one delivering a baby and my significant other was out playing golf. Augusta or not, I couldnt imagine knowing what my wife was going through, and still be out shooting a round with the boys. Both are once in a lifetime oppertunities, but for me, Family would take precedence every time.

I actually had the chance to buy a Scotty Cameron Futura (not phantom) last night for about $100+shipping, but I missed the opportunity. Im kinda kicking myself now, but I have never hit one and didnt know much about them so that kept me from snatching it up. I have read good things about the RED X as well as the Phantom, maybe i'll have to give those a look as well. Thanks!

I didnt hit any of the white steels today. I'll have to give them a try next time im there. It sounds like the type of putter that would work for me. Thanks!

Thanks for all the info guys. I ended up heading to golftown today and hitting a bunch of different putters. I was having the most success with the center shafted models. I was hitting everything from $100 putters to $350 putters. In the end I was sinking the most puts using the Odyssey dual force 2 /cs. The insert on the dual force wasnt as soft as the White Hot XG which I liked, because I felt better feedback with it. I hit a few of the Yes! putters as well, and liked them, but didnt get much time to really hit many puts with them. I still want to check out some of the Taylor Mades as well, but at least I now have an idea of what im looking for. So thanks again guys! You got me pointed in the right direction.

Great thanks for the suggestion guys!. I'll definitely check out that putter. Any other suggestions? Are the YES! putters any good at all?

Im probably going to be picking up a new putter sometime before next golf season. Right now im using an old Mizuno Tour Action 930 and im looking for something a little more modern. I have been looking at the Oddysey's mainly, but what do you guys think are the best feeling putters out there these days? Any brands you have had some great success with? A Cameron is probably out of the question as I dont want to spend more than a couple hundred bucks tops. Any suggestions?

x3!! Stina imo is by far the best looking woman on TGC. Kelly Tilgman is pretty easy on the eyes as well, she's just no Stina!

I have a 52* Cg11 and I absolutely love it. Its very easy to hit. I think you might have better success with a cg11 as well being a high handicapper. This is how they describe the two on their website: They say this about the CG11 "CG11™ wedges give golfers a little extra forgiveness and stability while providing the same great versatility and dependability as the CG10 wedges." And this about the CG10 "Voted "Editor's Choice" by Golf Digest in 2005, CG10™ wedges are widely hailed as the best feeling wedge Cleveland Golf has ever made." Both are amazing, the CG11 is just a little easier to hit.

Honestly, there is no "best grip" for all golfers. Its going to change from person to person. Two of the top tour players use different grips. Tiger uses an interlocking, and Furyk uses an overlapping. You just gotta experiment and stick with what works best for you.

Im cheering for Bri all the way! I think Bridget is a great golfer, but she seems a little stuck up to me. If Bri can get a handle on her putter, I think she'll win it. On the mens side, Denny is just layin' the boots to poor Jeff. Neither were who I wanted to go all the way, but out of the 2, im glad Dennys winning.

Depends who wins it.

I thought this tournament was awesome! The winner take all format was genius due the the fact that the players had to be on there game every day to have any kind of a chance. I was hoping Ochoa was gonna sneak in the win, but im happy for Granada. Especially after learning she rode a bike with her Mom to golf lessons when they came to the US because money was getting tight. This paycheck should help ease up the financial situation =)

Atm, my favorites are Golf with Style, and Big Break. Cant get enough of em.

I like Bri, but so far, she hasnt played a whole lot of........or even any good golf. Shes kinda like a Michelle Wie for me because no matter how bad she might be doing, I always seem to forget because she's so nice to look at. Bridget is easy on the eyes as well. And I think she has alot more potential. For the guys, Kelly is an egomaniac. Hes always talking the talk. but is soooooo streaky. I love how he always noted for his long drive credentials. but he has yet to hit a fairway!!. I think any moron could do that. I was a little dissapointed with Albert, but he is still the only guy on the show who has played with any sort of consistancy. Im looking forward to next weeks show though!!!! Thats gonna make for some serious drama.

Your video looked like the intro to The Wonder Years, hehe Swing looks good though, these guys have given some good advice, but as the saying goes " If it aint broke............"

How far do you hit your irons?
Smallfry replied to Hackomatic's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Ever since I took my ego out of the equation, I have noticed I am becoming more consistent, and am getting far less mishits. GW:80-85 PW:100 9i:115 8i:125-130 7i:140 6i:150 5i:160-170 4i:175 3i:185ish -
I agree, Albert has done nothing but impress me so far. I still can believe he can strike the ball so well with such an unconventional style. As for the most entertaining to watch, Bri and Kelly by far. What a soap opera!!
-
My favorite male golfers to watch are Tiger Woods and Jason Gore. Both possess an incredible amount of skill. My favorite female golfer is Lorena Ochoa.

What is with the square drivers comming out from Nike and Callaway?? Those have to be 2 of the ugliest clubs I have ever seen. I dont think I could stand over a ball with that club and not laugh at how dumb it looked.

First off I have to say I look forward to your guys podcast each week, and I think you guys do a great job. With that said I completely agree with the verbal beating you gave Phil in the latest podcast. I think he deserves a good slap upside the head after his less than respectable performance at the Ryder Cup. And while Phil definitely was the biggest dissapointment in the group, I will go as far as saying that no one on the US team played up to their expecation. Tiger did get his share of the teams points, but even he was very "Un-Tigerlike" while getting them. He looked pretty sloppy most of the tournament imo. I have to give credit where credit is due. The Europeans played better golf all weekend, and some of the shots they made were absolutely incredible.
-
I really enjoyed last nights show. I cant believe how well that cross handed grip works for Albert. He can really pound the ball!. It shold be an interesting show this year. I dont think the guys have much on the ladies.

It might be sad to say, but good looking girls do wonders for the sports they play. Look at how popular the LPGA is now with the additions of Michelle Wie, Paula Creamer, and Natalie Gulbis just to name a few. The same thing happened with Tennis. Anna Kournikova (sp?) was a very average tennis player by professional standards. but people would rather watch her warm up than watch whoever was winning the tournament that weekend. I for one am happy that there are some good looking girls, in hot outfits strutting the courses these days. Its even better when they are great players as well!

Nike Juice Marketing: Over the Top?
Smallfry replied to iacas's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I bet these balls sell really well, especially to the games younger demographic. -
I think it all comes down to feel for most people. I have played with alot of people with lower handicaps, and some were very loyal to a specific brand of club. Others carried a mixed bag. I think most people feel that some companies do certain things better than others, and they build their bags accordingly.
