Shot a 65 on a 9 hole course. I'm dropping about 8 strokes each time out.

As much as I hate NASCAR, and dear God do I hate NASCAR, they do a neat thing with their coverage. If you're willing to pay for the extra channels, you can watch your favourite driver all race long from inside the car. Maybe they could do something like that?

Most of the 'second chance' guys in the NFL are from the Paul Tagliabue era. He didn't hold players accountable for anything, no matter what it was. Leonard Little killed someone while driving drunk and nothing ever came of it. Goodel is determined to clean up the image of the league, and that kind of crap isn't flying anymore. Guys are getting suspended left right and centre these days, all for far less severe things than what Vick did.

I can't see Roger Goodell allowing Vick to return, at least not after at least a year or two of suspension. Committing a felony has to be against the personal conduct policy in a huge way. For that matter I can't really see a team taking a chance on him. The NFL is pretty PR-centric, no team wants bad publicity. The backlash against a team signing the ring leader of a dog fighting ring would be insane.

He teed up his ball on the fairway for his second shot? Wow, that's nuts. While I was hacking and slashing my way through my round on Sunday, I invited a single player to play through rather than hold him up. My playing partner and I sat on a bench while this guy took out a range finder and used it to measure off the hole for his drive. My partner told me that such devices are illegal. I've never heard of such a thing. Ruling?

Well, I finally got out for that round. It was, shall we say, an experience. The course was soaking wet when we got there, and it started to rain by the fifth hole, making it worse. I'm suprised they let anyone on the course considering the state of it. We stopped counting strokes after the third hole, after I had taken two 12's (par 4s) and a 7 (par 3 - 100 yards straight uphill). I'm sure my average score over the rest of the course was no better. On the fifth hole I hit easily my best shot of the round (not really saying much). I hit a 3W off the tee a good 200 yards, dead straight to the middle of the fairway. I stupidly made the comment that a green in regulation was a possibility. Five shots later I was on the green. This game is a blast, I love it.

Lane splitting is illegal up here, I've never seen anyone do it. Pretty risky if you ask me.

A variation of this one: Cyclists who pick and choose which rules of the road they're going to follow. Some shmuck on a bike will be in the flow of traffic with cars then when they come to a red light they decide they're a pedestrian and use the sidewalk or crosswalk so they don't have to stop and wait. I remember following behind a guy on a bike in traffic not long ago, we came to a crew doing roadwork and suddenly Mr. Schwinn wasn't riding a vehicle anymore - he pulled up onto the sidewalk and carried on while the rest of us had to wait. I have never wanted to commit vehicular manslaughter so much in my life.

Yeah, that reminds me of another big one of mine. People who butcher the english language. I don't mean people who don't speak the language and struggle to get their point across. I mean people who can't string together a coherent sentence. Working at Frito Lay I have to sit in meetings and listen to business jargon that makes no sense at all. I swear they just string together buzzwords and call it a 'strategic vision' or some such nonsense.
