102 which included an 8 on a par 3. Lots going right, just a couple of bad holes. Getting back to sub 100 land is coming soon. I can feel it.

I've played more in the last year than my entire life before that combined. So I'm thinking still under 100.

a golf ball will almost certainly crack and break a turtle shell, imo
-
Broke 100, unfortunately, not recently, but it has happened, I promise!

Shot a 112, on a hard course with very hard conditions. Tall rough, two par 3's playing over 200 yards, fast greens. Couldn't get off the tee to save my life, however was pretty good after that. Chipped and putted much better.

Callaway has a P/E of 60? That's a lot of growth built into the current price.

I'm looking for a database of golf historical events. So who played in and won pga events in the 1940s for example. I can't find it searching the web. Something like baseball-reference but for golf.

Slack or google spaces could work.

Some whiskey wouldn't hurt.

Just got a locker and I'm going to start putting some stuff in it and wanted to know what you keep in yours or would keep if you had one. I'm thinking a set of golf clothes, extra socks, hat, some warm, wind and wet weather stuff. Extra balls, shoes.

ugh, another bad round, too many 8s. I felt like I was hitting the ball well. The guy I paired up with was surprised when I told him I was a 26 handicap. Putting was better. Just put up some bad scores. found the water and the woods a bit too much.

I've actually been burned some recently by hitting my clubs longer. I'm hitting the ball so much better that I'm not a club longer in nearly every situation. I hit probably 4-5 perfect shots yesterday. Completely flush and straight but they went way over. In two cases the balls were lost in deep, deep rough. Couldn't get mad as I hit the ball exactly as I wanted, I just had the wrong club. I also think the course I play is kind of difficult. It's narrow, old and in some cases very long. It's challenging.

I think on one hand it ups TopGolfs opportunity for instruction. They can utilize protracer at their facilities for instructors to help. Additionally it could add additional games to their casual lineup, or make the whole thing cheaper by not having to use the giant holes in the ground. Basically they coulld install protracer and have the topgolf experience at any range. I think there are lots of opportunities for them here.

" Pretty clear improvement. What kinds of things did you do to improve? " Mostly just playing more to be honest. I haven't taken any lessons, but I've just done more playing and reading and watching the game. Loose arms and muscles really helped me hit the longer clubs. going with the pitch over the chip has helped my short game. I've gotten better about managing the course and not just trying to hit every shot as far as possible. Going with some smaller clubs to get in a good position. Like yesterday I went Driver, 7I, wedge into a Par 5. Whereas in the past I would'v went Driver, hybrid or driver 4 iron to get that second shot as long as possible. But I'm not going to be on in 2, might as well get closer with more comfortable clubs. Keeping the detailed stats really helps, because it doesn't look too much from raw scores that I'm improving a lot, but the trend lines are all in the right direction, even when I have a bad round.

Put up a 55/50 for a 105 yesterday. Putter was still off, adjusting to faster greens kills me. Keeping detailed stats shows me I'm making good progress even though the scores don't really seem like it. My avg round since I've been keeping track .15 birdies per round 1.24 pars per round 4.9 bogeys per round 6.2 double bogeys per round 5.6 triples or worse per round The triples have been going down, the were 7 per round. So I've gut out about 1 triple or worse per round. about a year ago the averages were 0.0 birdie per round 1.0 par per round 4.0 bogey per round 6.5 double bogey per round 6.5 trip or worse per round Progress, slow but steady. average score was at 109.6 now it is 107.1

If i stayed away from 30mph winds, I'd lose 10-20 rounds a year.

My oldest impacts nobody in any way at the course. He has better etiquette than most golfers and he isn't a slow player. Each one is different and depending on the age and maturity they should or should not be out on the course.

at a young age they're all different. Get them hitting balls indoors at the house, or in the yard. My 7 year old has been playing 9 holes of par 3 for over a year now with me. He played 18 with me last month. We teed it up from the reds on par 3s, and from teh 150 mark on the rest of the holes. However he is a freak, most kids would not want to do that for so long. When their attention span is gone, the day is done. You gotta go at their speed. Keep introducing it, but it has to be fun and they have to want to. My 3 year old will hit balls with actual kids clubs, but only for about 5 minutes, then it's onto something else. The older one would have done it for an hour. Let them be the guide.

The funny thing is that once you get closer to the 99 mark and start getting better to the poing where you have the skills to be below there regularly, then you start to get new shots you have to do well. Once you start hitting GIR you start having more long putts. Once you start getting close to GIR you start hitting it into those greensite bunkers. Once you can hit the ball off the tee, then those fairway bunkers are in play. Part of the fun, part of the frustration.

I think of it more as getting off the Tee well rather than just distance, so there are a few options Short and really bad (snap hook) Short and kind of bad (rough but not long) Short and good (old man drive) Long and really bad (slice to ob, or deep woods) Long and kind of bad (rough) Long and good (fairway drive) But then there are the pros which are Super long and good As a high handicapper, how I hit off the tee has a tremendous difference on my game. If I can hit long and kind of bad then I can play well. However it's often long and really bad or short and bad or short and kind of bad. If I could start out every hole super long and good, it would help me a lot more than if I could get myself to within 50 yds and let a pro take over. It's such a big jump from where the avg golfer is.

I'm fine with Muirfield as a private club choosing to be a men's club. I don't really have a problem with women at a golf club, but they can choose to admit who they want. I'm also fine with the Open responding by getting Muirfield off the list. Free choices for both organizations.

First time, long time. Got my first true handicap this year. I've shot under 100 twice this year 99 and 95 (best round ever), but that's only 2 out of 12 rounds this year. I started to hit it longer off the tee, but lost my accuracy. What's weird is my game is playing generally like a sub 100s, but typically one aspect is off each round. When the tee is going well, the irons quit. When the irons work, the putter goes away. I've been working on the pitch shot and it's been a godsend around the green. High handicappers, try that out. It seems so much more foolproof. I occasionally have a bad pitch, but it's easier to control and works in all situations around the green. I use the Srixon Q-star ball. Not too expensive, seems to work and comes in yellow.
