  1. If you took away all of Pettersson's bogies for the last two rounds, he would have the lead at -20.
  2. I called it, Tiger to double bogey and take himself out of contention (via text of course)
  3. I don't buy that anymore at all, I lose most of my strokes on wayward drives (stymied, bad rough, just plain lost, etc), and can two putt 90% of the time.
  4. Yesterday I shot a disappointing 10 over on a par 36 course. Started out with a quad bogey on the hole I birdied the last time around. Raised my handicap (nothing official, just oobgolf) to an even 10. Today I shot +5 on a par 34, slightly better, but still should have avoided a double on one hole. Driving has been erratic.
  5. I play with a guy that will routinely give three footers. Not just mercy gives when putting for double, but for pars and such. Not sure why, but its just aggravating. I mean the poor guy wont learn how to sink the short ones.
  6. I am hoping Carl Petterrson pulls it off
  7. SW - 90 GW ~ 110 PW ~ 125 9 ~ 135 8 ~ 145 7 ~ 155 6 ~ 165 5 ~ 180 4H ~ 205 3W ~ 230 D ~ 250
  8. GASP, you mean "Spiethproof" the course?
  9. I have a 12 hole course near here in Fishkill, NY. Its a nice change of pace but not worth much. I'm sure there are other courses with unusual number of holes, but its rare I feel because its so strange. If you want to go down that road, why aren't there tennis courts with a net half the height? Why aren't there basketball courts with 8 foot rims? The 6 inch hole would be a big let down. I mean honestly, would anyone but absolutely the worst uncoordinated new players miss anything from inside 5 feet? I love the short knee knockers, and the precision of putting is what I think makes it so fun.
  10. Not to defend Tiger, but lets see how Jordan is acting when he hits 30 before we make judgements, he is still in the PGA honeymoon phase probably.
  11. So every hole on the course is a par 3? Like a pitch and putt. If you managed to bogey only 4 of the holes for a 4 over, Id say that is great. Par 3s on a regular course can be a lot more challenging, but on a pitch and putt they are usually flat and errant shots are not too penalized. But its still good to be only 4 over for 9 holes.
  12. I flew the green right and long on a par 3. It has a tough steep back side. I was off to the side and down 6 feet from the green. With a 60 degree wedge, I hit the perfect little chip to 4 feet, made the up and down. Best up and down of the season.
  13. 4 over on a short 9 hole course. 38. Par 34. 5 pars 4 bogeys. No blow ups, no 3 putts.
  14. I don't think golf is an antagonist of this. I have it big time in my left hand from guitar. Have to wear a brace at night. But I never got numbness playing golf.
  15. 83. Not a terrible day, could have putted a little better. I feel that I may break 80 by the end of this season if I can pull it together in every area for a round.
  16. At my level, balls should really dont make a difference. I cannot tell much from a ProV1 to a mid range Nike. But for the love of God, almost any Top Flite I have tried to hit literally feels like a rock. I don't know what it is, but that's the honest truth.
  17. Isn't a captain really there to rally up the troops? Do they discuss specific strategy or just leave that up to the players. I mean what is there to say for the captain, "listen, we need you to win this match..." I think Daly would be a good captain, he is talkative and outgoing, has charisma and personality. I don't thnk guys like Phil or Tiger would make a good captain, their personalities are lacking.
  18. Hell I used to live near rail road tracks that ran parallel (on the right side) with a Par 5 at Trump National Hudson Valley. I would go along with a back pack and collect NOTHING but premium balls by the dozen. That was living....now I'm restricted to the munis, but I'll play almost anything I find.
  19. Well I never no matter what pick up balls when holes are going back and forth, next to each other, because of just that. If I'm on a secluded hole with no neighboring fairways, then I feel they can be picked up safely.
  20. Ok so so far its not that frowned upon to pick em up. I play pretty much exclusively with found balls. Some kind of superstition. I was given a box of NXT Tour Ss, and proceeded to lose a sleeve a round until they were gone. Past couple weeks I have been playing with the same ball I found for 3 rounds.
  21. What is everyone's opinion on taking balls from the woods when playing? Do you consider it stealing from the course? Or finders keepers? Bear in mind almost all courses typically have the 2 for 1 used ball bucket that undoubtedly is from their own staff finding balls around the course? For example, I rip a drive hard right into the woods, take a minute or two (if there is no group right behind) to find the ball and come across a couple pristine ProV1s. What is the right thing to do?
  22. In today's political environment, a gay golfer.
  23. I would suspect that for every tour pro, there are a number of guys that can shoot the same scores in a casual round on the same course. But they can only do it when they play their best, and they probably cannot do it at all under tournament pressure while the world is looking on via TV and such. I bet there are guys that frequent this site that can break par on a pro course from the championship tees, but only once in a blue moon, and with no added pressure.
