  1. For me, over 90. Hard to hit my shots when I'm drenched in sweat lol. Particularly, when there's humidity involved (which has been the case here in Michigan, recently).
  2. Driver, 2-Iron, PW, Putter. Pretty much all I use anyways, at this time.
  3. I really like this post. Thank you for your contribution, Carl. Will be trying this later today when I go out to the driving range. 🙂 Like the other posters here, my biggest issue is the mental part/side of golf. For example, I couldn't drive to save my life last week (and the week before), but made it up with my iron play. These last few days, my driving has been great, which has caused me to get anxious on my 2nd shot. Because of the anxiety, my iron play has suffered. 😕 Again, mental. My chipping/pitching game improved drastically over night. I literally went from not knowing how to do it, to waking up the next day knowing how. Still not quite sure what happened. Putting ... well, I'm generally good from 7 or so feet in. Outside of that, I need practice. And lots of it lol. Have issues with speed.
  4. The set I have now (I don't count the set I got when I was 9 years old, or even 13 years of age, as I never used them ... unfortunately), I would say. Got it for $ 75.00 off a popular social media site.
  5. I don't mean to hi-jack the thread, Iacas, but what causes the ball to spin too much ? Generally speaking. I ask because I checked out a golf simulator this past weekend in my area and was told that my golf ball was spinning too much. I believe it was at the 6000 mark. I don't remember any more stats than that, other than my club speed being about 103 mph. Thank you.
  6. Shot 115 on Friday and 111 on Sunday. Any questions ? Because I have a ton lol
  7. Did you share some of your lunch with them, Patch ? ;P
  8. Yes, sir !!!
  9. Reading through some older threads, I took the advice of a few people here and decided to spend more time out on the golf course, rather than at the driving range. And I do have to say, that my swing has gotten consistently better being out on the golf course. The driving range is nice and all (and I still frequent it once, twice a week), but being out on the golfing course just feels better, more natural to me. In MY opinion. I assume it's a mental thing.
  10. Not a fan, personally. But then again, I'm not one who likes noise anywhere I go lol.

    Short Putting

Missed a 2-foot putt yesterday on a hole I laid up beautifully with, with my iron. Got anxious/nervous and missed it slightly to the left. Grrr. But ... it happens. Right ? RIGHT ?? Lol !
  12. Wonderful news !!!!! Can't wait !!!!!
  13. Looking forward to following this tourney.
  14. Have been golfing a little over a month now and have played a total of 5 rounds, with my first 18 being yesterday. Made a conscious decision this past weekend to golf more and hit the driving range less (mainly due to what I've been reading on this forum, YouTube videos, etc. in regards to becoming a better golfer), as before I was hitting the driving range 4-5 times a week, for roughly and hour or two. After TODAY'S 9 however lol ... whew ... I don't know. Tempted to go back to the driving range and stay off the golf course lol (though to be fair, today seemed to be purely mental).
  15. You guys are the greatest !! Thank you for the replies !
  16. Thank you !
  17. Thank you, sir ! Would you say the competition is equally fun/exciting to watch ?
  18. Thank you, gentleman !! And great observation, Shanks. I've noticed, personally speaking, that when I take my sweet time out there, I tend to hit the balls much better. Much more accurately. And honestly, I think today is a good example of that, as I had stopped by the driving range this morning, relatively in a hurry. Topped darn near every ball I swung at. And clearly needed to slow my swing down, as I felt a few of the swings darn near bring me up out of my shoes lol. I guess some days are good, and others ... well, yeah lol. I remember thinking at one point, " Maybe I should take up bowling. " Hahahaha.
  19. Thank you, sir ! Will keep that in mind if I choose to attend.
  20. Thank you, sirs !!!
  21. Hello gentleman. Have the opportunity to attend either a PGA Tour Event OR Champions Tour Event this fall. And was just curious if there were any pros/cons to attending either. Having never attended a pro golf event before, am just curious HOW GOOD these guys are up close. And though I don't usually like to assume, I will assume that the PGA Tour will probably have more 300 yard drives ? Not that that is a deal-breaker or anything. Thank you !
  22. Thank you, Mike !!
  23. No, that's quite all right. She has a wonderful personality, seems to possess a great deal of knowledge ... however, she has to be pushing 80 or so. And I certainly don't want people to think ill of ME, regarding her age. However, I almost feel like it would be best for me to work with someone a tad bit younger ... maybe a little more technological advanced, as she just critiques me with just her eyes. I don't know. But well, well said in regards to " I suggest you talk with your instructor to make sure you understand what your "homework" is at the end of each lesson. " I don't quite feel I've gotten that from her really ... And good for you, my friend !! And for you to say golf is hard ... well, it makes me feel better about myself, as I KNOW you would stomp me all over the golf course if we played lol.
  24. Seeing as how I started last month, my 2018 goals are to get through Q-School, win my first PGA Tour Event, and last, but the not least, qualify for the 2019 Masters. Now when I'm awake lol ... I would just like to consistently hit the ball straight. And if I'm able to do that well these next few months, I'd love to enter a tournament, just to get the experience under my belt. Competing in Tournaments (particularly National ones), with success, is my overall goal.
  25. Haha, dully noted, my friend. And thank you for the warm welcome. I often have to tell myself to calm down after I hit a " good " shot. Because generally the next one is a violent hook. I fear I may have to start showing up to the golf course in disguise until I get better lol.
