I was watching the u.s. Open and hear the guys on the golf channel talking about electrolyte pills. They are AWESOMME. I pop about 6 of them at the start of the round an stay hydrated. The heat is no problem at all.

Maybe. You can get your karma under control. No matter how good it feels to throw a club, it's never the clubs fault. The only advice I have is that be it with your driver or any other club, try to feel or perceive a discernible pause at the top of the backswing before you start our downswing. It really won't be visible by the eye but you can feel it. A smooth transition is key for me on the driver and really any club.

Freddie's swing is awesome to watch. I've got to say that If I could duplicate someones swing it would be Louis Oosthuizen's.

Oh, Peter Kostis... (on Dean Wilson)!

When I hear an announcer talk about maintaining the right knee flex, I assume they mean that the player should maintain the same flex they have at address throughout the entire swing. Paul's right knee does maintain "some" flex but it visibly does straigten to some degree during the backswing as do most if not all good ballstrikers. If someone has a video of a good ballstriker maintaining the exact same flex throughout the swing, I'd be interested in seeing it. -
I'm gonna try this method next time I need to lob one under a tree.

Give the Adams Idea Pro Black series a try.

evolvr is Coming - Online Swing Analysis

Anybody, Bueller?? -
When he said it, Charlie was right up on a trap. His right foot was almost in the trap. I think he was talking about the the balance needed to hit that shot. I think he thought Charlie might fall back into the trap.

that Charlie Wi is one of those Tilt and Stack guys and they have a tendency to get stuck on the right side. Now I haven't been learning the S and T very long but I know that is a completely ridiculous statement. You would think that a person would be educated on a topic before they would elaborate. I know it happens all the time but it's kinda crappy.

Just heard Frank Nobilo say "Charlie Wi is one of those Tilt and Stack guys and they have a habit of getting stuck back on the right side" Now I haven't been learning the SandT very long but I know that's a ridiculous statement.

Is "evolvr" catching on? I've been reading the S&T; book and implementing elements of the swing with great results so far. Evolvr sounds like a excellent tool. Anyone have any feedback they would like to share? Also, if a person signs up on the monthly plan and decides to drop it when the winter non golfing monts come along, would there be another 40 dollar fee to get it started again? Thanks -
Going by just what you'r saying, Your shots are starting straight and then drawing? Correct? If that's the case, you're impact position is square and you're swinging on an inside to out path that produces the draw. Simplest change is just open your clubface a little and swing the same. May have to line up a little right of target.

OK, so I went to the range this morning and hit a small bucket. I hit a 6 iron the whole time and basically went to the Stack and Tilt book on page 29 and only tried step 1 which is to put your weight on the front foot. Well I'm pretty impressed. Out of 45 or so balls, 35 or so were solid 5 yard or so draws and probably 10 mishits due to my tempo getting too quick cause it is so damn hot and I guess I was hurrying. I never would have thought that merely moving your weight around like that could have such an impact. Looking forward to more practice.

I got my copy of "The Stack and Tilt Swing" yesterday in the mail and just let me say that 11.00 on ebay beats the hell out of 30 bucks in a store. I've only read the first two chapters so far and I've got to say that it's making pretty good sense so far. I think I'll try a little at the range this weekend.

If Rory's tempo and timing is on, and he is smart enough to try to learn a little bit from Mr. Watson during the first round, I'm going with him.

Could lessons have messed me up?

Hard to say, did you make some drastic swing changes? -

I'll second the vote for MP-57, I may be biased though -
Well, this thread has intrigued me enough to purchase a copy of "The Stack and Tilt Swing" on fleabay for 12 bucks. I've never been acused of being closed minded.

I'm trying really hard to build my tolerance to barley and hops currently. It takes much practice but it's rewarding

It's official.............

Try this, it's just a quick fix but it may get you out of your funk. Address the ball with the ball down by the hosel. I mean really down by the hosel. Your subconscious shouldn't let you hit it there. It's worked for me in the past. -
Thanks for the redirect, but I was refering to the first post of "this" thread. The below plainly states that they are not important. Think about the number of things you hear from modern instruction which are not only detrimental but PROVABLY WRONG. "Your weight should be behind the ball to hit a draw." "You need to have the perfect grip. Same for your stance, posture, alignment..." "You want to get 'width' in your backswing." Then they demonstrate width as straight back... "Stay in your spine angle." Utter garbage. "Keep your chin up. Straight spine." "Release the club to hit a draw." "The ball starts on the direction of your swing path." Ben Hogan knew the truth. "Rotate your shoulders flat. Get your left shoulder over your left foot." The list goes on... and EVERY ONE of those things can easily be proven to be detrimental at best or flat out WRONG. They aren't opinions, either - they're facts borne out of either science or study of the most "traditional" golfers out there - Hogan, Snead, Palmer, etc.
-
Before I start, just let me say that I am not a S &T; hater, I'm actually considering educating myself more on the principals. So with that said, are you saying that the fundamentals that Ben Hogan so adamantly talks about in his book in the first two chapters, are not particularly valuable or important?
-
Are they fat and straight? If they're fat and straight, then I'll agree that a wedge is a wedge, it's the swing. If it's fat and right, divots deeper on the toe side of the club, maybe needs a little bending upright, opposite for short and left, divots deeper toward the heel, bent flat.

OK, help me out, if you had to choose between a custom club fitting by a certified independent club fitter/maker or buying a video camera, something like a Kodak Playsport, which one would it be and why. In the club fitting, I'm mainly looking at length of shaft and if I need to be upright or not. And the video camera, I want something small, durable, and can do slow motion well so I can further look at what I'm doing. Ideas and suggestions will be most appreciated.

I've been playing this crazy game for close to 25 years and I just came up with this putting drill a couple weeks ago and It has already helped my putting significantly. Go to the putting green and find an identifiable spot lets say 5 to 6 ft from the cup. Make sure it is a spot that you can place the ball exactly on it every single time. You want to make SURE that the ball is placed in the EXACT same spot every time. Start putting. Once you make a couple and figure out the break if there is any, it's all stroke from there. The put will be the same every time. It's like making the stroke the only variable. It really builds confidence, or it did with me anyway. Hope this helps.
