  1. I have no problems w/ my 9.5° S91 F. I have played Cobra drivers my whole life and have never experienced them being not true lofted. They make different shafts and kickpoints for a reason and everyone's swing is different. If you can go somewhere where you can try different shaft options.
  2. Club West Golf Club - Fun course, make sure you pay attention to where the mountain is. The grade effects the break of the greens. Sanctuary Golf Course - Good course, it has some crazy holes and blind shots so some local knowledge would be helpful. It is very tight and don't let the yardage fool you. Sunridge Canyon Golf Club - I have never played there but if desert target golf is your thing then there you go. It is normally in very good condition and is a top course to play. Las Sendas Golf Club - Very difficult golf course. Bentgrass greens. It is a RTJ Jr. course and is a good one to play if you are looking to challenge yourself. Night life? Plenty of bars nightclubs and good restaurants in Scottsdale. Since you are coming in April you can go to a baseball game.
  3. I am heavy into music especially live shows and have seen DTB a few times. Such a young great talent You can download their live performances on what is known as "The Archive". Here is a link to all the Derek Truck Band shows on the Live Music Archive. I have downloaded hundreds of shows with never a problem. Enjoy! http://www.archive.org/details/DerekTrucksBand
  4. I would set some goals for yourself. Practice, play, do some drills, whatever you need to do to reach those goals. I lingered around a 14 -15 for a long while and desperately wanted to be a single digit. I realized setting obtainable realistic goals could help me along the way. e.g. breaking 80, eliminated double bogeys, no 3-putts, chipping to inside of 3' from the hole. Keep track of stats like fairways hit, G.I.R and putts and then decide where the practice is needed. Cutting your Handicap Index in half is a big task and won't happen over night. Good Luck and have fun.
  5. Her is a closeup pic of the golf street shoe. http://www.golfweek.com/photos/2010/jan/11/3272/
  6. I tend to think the swing path is determined by the alignment of the shoulders.Thoughts?
  7. To answer the question "Is it just the greens?" I would say no. It is a combo of the green surface condition, clean contact, clubface, ball and an accelerating club head. If the greens are too soft it will kill the spin of the ball. Perfect spin greens would be firm but resilient.
  8. I would like to see a video of a 20 yard pitch shot out of the rough spin back.
  9. It's an OK course. Nothing to get overly excited about but it is nice and usually in good shape. They are running some specials right now on Tuesdays and Wed. Can be a bit pricey this time of year ($100+ weekends) I played there a few summers ago and got paired with Mannie Jackson, the owner of the Harlem Globetrotters. Great guy. Not that it matters.
  10. It's all about ratings to them, which of course drives advertising dollars. I think they were playing World Series and Opens long before television even existed and will be playing for a long time to come.
  11. I've been playing them for a while now and are a great value. 2 doz for $45. They don't spin as good as a ProV1 but for half the price they are definitely worth it. Right now I'm trying to figure out which is longer between the TP Burner and the B-330 RX. I love the feel and spin of the RX over the TP Burner.
  12. When Hale won in 90' he was younger than Nicklaus in 86'.
  13. Replace your 3 and 4 iron w/ hybrids. No sense and beating your self up trying to launch a long iron. You should be able to find some used hybrids for cheap to see how you are going to like them.
  14. Pretty sure apex is right on this. The PM must stand for Phil Mickelson.
  15. I switched from a F speed to a S9-1. I didn't care for the looks or the sound of the LV4, LV5s. I really don't think there is much performance gains of the newer drivers. I would have kept using my F speed but it is a 10.5* and I went w/ a 9.5* on the S9-1.
  16. I love how people say that a Cameron is too expensive, yet they have $400 drivers in their bag. Driver is used 14 times a round at the most, putter is the most used and most important club in the bag.
  17. I agree that throwing a club crosses the line. So did John Daly's incident with the camera smashing. Didn't John get suspended for his actions?
  18. The tour does have the balls to fine him. He is probably the most fined player on tour for his remarks, cursing and hissyfits. The tour does not make these things public.

    Golf Fix

I wish they would bring back "your game night". The Golf Fix isn't fixing anything for me.
  20. your spine angle will be tilted towards the target.
  21. What's daylight savings?
  22. Will give that a try Eric. He would rather spend money on a new driver than a lesson. He had a place tell him that they wanted to break him completely down and rebuild his swing. That is too much of a commitment for most.
  23. I was just reading about Mike Crean's ace on a 517 yard par 5. Wow! A Condor really does exist.
  24. I am trying to help my friend dial in his 9.5* R9 460. He has an outside to in swing path and hits a massive high slice. So, I've checked out TM's website and the book the driver came with but it can be somewhat confusing. When you close the face on the driver it will increase the trajectory of the golf ball. If you open the face it is supposed to decrease the trajectory. How is this supposed to help someone w/ a high left to right ball flight? Where would be a good starting point?
  25. 1. new here 2. hole-in-one happened in July 3. was making sure there wasn't already a thread on it or if the topic was beat to death. 4. Didn't really know how many people here actually have one. Appreciate the feedback.
