I don't think that someone doing almost double the speed limit, crashing, and almost dying is a non-event, especially when that someone is the greatest golf to ever live. Even assuming a driver was clean and this happened, this would result in a charge of failure to control for almost anyone else on the planet. The fact that nothing happened is a testament to the privilege of celebrity.

This x1000. To appear (I know that it is just an appearance) completely hopped up and out of it a couple of days before the incident is a huge reason why the questions are there, and IMO rightfully so. There is history there. He's recovering from surgery, so the access is almost certainly there. And we have video of what could be seen as him high as a kite shortly before, though not so shortly that any intoxication from the TV appearance would have worn off had it existed. Until I personally see toxicological reports dated and sign from that date, I will believe he was intoxicated. Some (most here) may call this unreasonable, but I would argue it is unreasonable for him to be going that speed and crash, then have no citation from the cops, even more unreasonable. I voted 1 as far as Tiger saying anything himself is concerned, but I think it is a terrible look, and close to a silent admission at this point given his history, the previous TV appearance, and the circumstances of the crash.

I'm taking both driver AND 3W, because I am so short at the minute. I would fill out with 7i, 52 degree, and putter. I can hit my 3W up to about 180 yards, sometimes more if I really catch it clean. I am sure that I could adapt it (on the courses that I play) for anything down to 130 (a smashed 7i for me), and I am sure that I could play my 7i down the the 60-70 range that I hit my GW. There is a caveat here. That is that I don't play any courses that have super front guarded greens, so I can roll one up on almost any hole at my home course.

Absolutely. I agree that it doesn't follow modern styles as far as pacing, but I would argue that that is a good thing. People have become far to used to constant over-sensatory movies, where action is the only thing that matters. A good story is far more interesting to me. I am 70% through the first 6 Dune books according to my kindle (start of book 5), and I thought the movie should have been less fast. There are plenty of things that were added in (not in the book) that could have been replaced with even better story telling (things from the book). I am super excited that they green lit part 2, and hopefully we will get even more. Even more will probably just be Messiah, because after that things get unexplainable in movie form. My only complaint about the movie was the casting of Duncan (Mamoa), as he we just the "bro dude relatable comic relief". I thought taking away Gurney's good laughable moments and giving them to Idaho was a disservice to all Dune fans. I wasn't impressed with Mamoa, though he was just doing what was asked of him, but the switch of character roles was like nails on the chalkboard to me. I'd also give it an eagle, but it could have been an albatross by staying truer to the source material.

That is because they are mostly releasing studies on the vaccinated. I think this has been the biggest hole in an argument for the vaccines, because they don't even offer up data to the contrary scenario. That, to me, is fairly suspicious. I believe that they have plenty of data and studies on "naturally immune" people, but they are refusing to release it. I know that this dips into conspiracy territory, but it makes perfect sense at the same time.

I always dug 'em 'cause Couples seemed to do well. That was back when I was a wee lad though, so I don't have much memory of it. From the couple of linked videos, it looks like they were trimmed for time, albeit not to the level of Shell's WWoG. I think that is the important thing to me. "The Match"(es) are long, drawn out, sordid affairs, where you see more golf in PXG commercials than actual golf. They try to capture the personality more (kind of) and it really takes the golf part to a staggering low. Not really my cup of tea

There are still plenty of people that think it does, myself included until 5 minutes ago. I looked it up, and found this answer (no increase). I didn't see anything on chip shots though, only full swings. I don't know if the deformation of the ball on a full swing shot compared to less deformation on a chip shot is the same when it comes to the spin rates. Basic physics would say that more friction equals more spin, but that doesn't happen on the full swing with raw wedges, so I've got no clue. What are your thoughts on a fine coat of sand? I think that the player was trying to gain spin in this person's scenario, mostly because it is a chip shot, and he added sand. If he went with just water, I would have agreed with the poster.

I completely skipped over his "take spin off" part. I assumed that he was trying to add grit to the clubface to make it stop more quickly, since it was a chip (no mention of short side but i would guess so). Almost like a rusty face, but only applied for 1 shot. I don't know if this actually works but the logic follows for me.

Did you read the part about dragging it through the sand too? I am assuming this guy was looking to get the ball to check, and some extra friction is what he desired. Sounds like a breach to me.

Why would you care if you are hitting it good already?

I saw this earlier. The golf twitterverse was going crazy talking about how stuck up and stupid of a rule this is, even going as far as things like "this is why we need a new pro tour". I think that it is absurd that someone could break the rules and then everyone wants to give them a break.

Did you feel this way before you had lessons? For me this only happened after a lesson. I was (and still am) not consistent or even "ok" at hitting a golf ball, but having ideas in my head has made it significantly harder to do. Before this happened I was somewhere between 30-50 yards longer with each club, but have less mishits now. I mostly wish I could undo it. *note: I did start swinging at age 3, so I don't have any memories of it not feeling natural until said lesson.

I've stopped at 9, but never in the middle of a 9. There are a couple of things that would make me do this. The first is if the PoP is so bad that we don't make the turn in 2.5 hours. The second is if someone I am playing with is unbearable. Being around extremely negative people makes me miserable, and I would rather skip golf to avoid it than stick it out while I'm seething about someone else's behavior.

I've got a decent amount of experience with them, mostly in my youth (I'm only 33 but didn't grow up rich so had old clubs) and some in my adult years. I find them harder to hit off the turf than modern stuff because they feel like they sit so high (tall face), but still can put a good strike on it most of the time. Distance suffers a decent amount on anything that isn't right out of the screws, but they are a blast to play. When I got back into golf 4 years ago, I decided to buy new/used stuff that was more modern, but I always loved the look of the blade irons. I picked up a set of the original Nike forged blades on ebay so I could have something with modern grips/shafts but still get the look I liked behind the ball. I hope you enjoy toying around with the new sticks. It's fun if you and a buddy can both get a full set each and play a "vintage" round. I have a friend and we do this about once a year. Clubs from they 70s or earlier, but we use modern balls. Edit* I forgot to mention about the loft of the irons. Don't try and compare the distance of the 7 iron to a modern set, as it is going to be anywhere from 1-3 clubs weaker in loft depending on your modern set. It's common to see PW of the old set at 49-51 degrees. Modern SGI irons have PW in the 38-40 degree range. Quite the difference.

I've had good luck with tubes in the past, but those were on 3 divider bags (old school). Since switching to a 14 slot bag I haven't had much of an issue, but from time to time one won't want to go back in.

and 99+ percent of them are fine, unlike the SUV scenario. And if they had had their anti SUV DD suits on (the vaccine) then they should have nothing to worry about at all.

To me this implies that natural antibodies are still good, yet the vaccine is being held over workers heads, forcing them to make choices they should not have to make if they have been infected with Cov-Sars-2 (assuming they have a functional immune system) I tend to agree that immunity gained through infection should be sufficient for these employers to allow employees to not get the vax if they show an antibody test, but can already hear the pitchforks being picked up.

I just checked my vintage set (Sam Snead blue ridges) and they mimic this. I also game 735.CMs from time to time, and not only does the cavity to blade change happen between 7 and 8, but the shape changes drastically as will.

I looked through his YT comments and it appears that they are hand picked. A sign of a conman in the modern era...silencing all criticism.

He may not put on that he defends himself, but maybe all the abuse drew him out for a couple of defenses? I bet if we looked through his TY comments we might see the same names used here for defense.
