Such an earworm

I keep a sawed down golf club with gray duct tape as a head to do a little block practice next to my computer. And then there's the WC. I wonder if practicing with music, not too distracting music, via earbuds helps some stay engaged. It drowns out distractions from the vicinity, helps me keep focused on my own thing. Earbuds are a permanent addition to my bag and I use them if it's not dead quiet.

Amazon had a deal on Showtime so watched The Good Lord Bird, which I've been putting off for awhile even though Ethan Hawke is in it, wary of historical dramas but it turned out to be very good even though there is dramatization and you have to read the what really happened pieces. It also made me do a rathole on abolitionist history here and in Europe. Hawke is excellent as was Daveed Digs and Joshua Caleb Johnson. Yellowjackets has been compared to Lost and rightfully so, it's quite the show to binge. The first episode was a little CW, a trudge to be honest, maybe it's my familiarity with NJ. I get establishing characters, but not every pilot can be Lost. Once it starts to get going, you're gonna get your Lost fix, but the question remains can it wrap up its mysteries in a satisfying way like say Dark. On the 7th episode of The Sandman, not familiar with the books, but it went places I never expected and it's not all magic and fantasy. Maybe a little like therapy. Very familiar with the lead actor from having watched Pirate Radio so many times. Looking forward to how this finishes. This show does not feel anything like a Netflix original and it's not. It was made by Warner Brothers and Netflix bought the rights.

Fries. Duh. Chicken tenders, the Impossible Chicken ones too. Salmon. Broccoli. I mean you can make Chinese bbq roast pork (Char siu).

Hey, you're talking to a perennial shanker here.

I guess she's not known as a belter, a powerful voice like Whitney Houston or a better example I'm not thinking of, but her voice is subtlely powerful, she's not showy about it. There's something about her tone or intonation I don't know singing, it's very distinctive and lovely to hear, maybe it's the accent coming through, it's a very warm tone. What a voice.

So apparently I asked this sort of years ago. And I'm wondering this again, but now we have better technology and more experience interpreting data with Trackman and Flightscope and Gears and all that. Specifically I want to know what effect an off center hit either to the toe or heel side - not higher or lower on the face, assume it's the same place in terms of verticality, has on irons and woods. I did a quick search and all I could find was the piece below which basically says more distance is lost with shots towards the heel which is what I would have guessed, forget about the curve, it just feels more "dead" off the face. MyGolfSpy Labs: The Horizontal Impact Location Study | MyGolfSpy How Do Heel and Toe Strikes Influence Distance and Direction? We have the answers. I found this on YouTube, but he's only using 2-3 points of data for each type of strike, wish there were more data points. There must be a more comprehensive piece or video I'm not finding. Or maybe it's here and I'm completely missing it.

What "Long Clubs" Do You Have in Your Bag?
nevets88 replied to jshots's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
3W, 3H, 4I. I can throw in a 3I, I carry 13 clubs. At 200-230 yards, I am all over the place so really won't make a difference. Gives me the option of throwing in a 60 degree wedge if I need it. -
The chorus of this song is an earworm.

RIP Olivia Newton John. Here she is live, what a voice. Dunno how old she is here, but she was still nailing those high notes.

I'll never look at a butt plug the same again, lol.

Prey - tap in birdie. A great addition to a certain franchise. If you don’t know anything about it don’t watch the trailer, just go into it knowing it’s an action flick. Too bad this didn’t get a theatrical release I would have certainly gone to a theater to see this.

First Broadway Show In Awhile

I love Pink Martini. Wish I could have seen them live. This version was really good. Second act made me think of our current state of affairs. -
Bullet Train. Par but almost lipped out. It just was not as funny as I thought it would be. You could tell they threw some money into the movie not just the well known actors. Maybe I should just read the book. I think that would be a big improvement.

Course swing can get it to look like range swing better although not always. Hole is like 360 with some downhill had about 100 left. Still don't like the hips swiveling towards the ball. And the right knee kicking out. But the top of swing and transition is better. On the course have problems recentering, hard to convince myself to shift towards target because it feels like it brings the heel into play but I hit better shots when recentering well.

Was talking to normals (not golf people) and said Woods would never jump ship even for a billion and they thought I was crazy.

Haven't gone since shutdown. Couldn't turn down Sondheim's Into the Woods. It's been so long since last saw a show or play

Nope. In IMAX. Real, not LIEMAX. Barely a birdie. I appreciate what he’s trying to do, Peele, it’s not as focused as Get Out was but I generally like films that try for something but miss rather than play it safe. The IMAX aspect ratio to me definitely added to the experience, noticed the IMAX camera usage immediately. Is it Top Gun 2 see it in IMAX no, more Lawrence of Arabia see it in IMAX. It’s not straight up horror like his two previous movies but it doesn’t contain any less social commentary imho. Knew that Steve Yeun was in this but also two surprise actors I know also showed up. One from The OA and another from Ocean’s Eleven. Missed some dialog because of mumbling. So much mumbling these days. Will definitely rewatch for the closed captioning.

Some pickleball players had to wait for a court so they started hitting pickle balls with golf clubs for kicks. I wonder if they’re onto something.

What about long Covid? It’s still early to make any firm conclusions on it I’m guessing other than try not and get it.

I thought Matsuyama isn't official yet? LIV Golf, PGA Tour hypothetical matches we’d love to see Spoiler alert: It’s a bloodbath.

Yeah I’d agree. I’m focusing on hand path and face and the recentering more on the upper body.

Driver swings. Same stuff, although stance is floating back to the heels, that's a bad habit I guess. Recentering, timing of shallowing and lead wrist flexion. Timing of key #4 path is better. Thought is keeping shallow constant, longer, but less shallowing effort from A4. Would like to see face a little more shut from like A4.5 to 6.5 Wooo, finally got cinematic mode. Looks neat, doesn't really effect much in terms of analyzing swing though. Maybe it uses more space or CPU cycles I dunno. Finally caught up to 2020 or at least until the next iPhone comes, oh that's in two months, pfffft.

Thanks, I was just looking at that.
