  1. You T.C. Chen'ed it!! S-
  2. How does that crow taste??? S-
  3. I think it is great. It shows team spirit and unity. Humans have been doing this kind of thing for millennia. Why is it all of sudden childish? S-
  4. I prefer the GolfPride Tour Velvet BCT Cord or the Lamkin Tour Black Full Cord. S-
  5. Why do Tiger and Phil need caddies to tell them how far away everything is? Because eyeballing, even for guys that have played a s much golf as the Pro's, is inherently inaccurate. And the markers on the course, even when accurate, don't provide enough information. Also, not every course has 100, 150, and 200 yard markers. You don't think a GPS would help you? Fine, you can believe that if you want. But don't try to tell anyone else that it won't help them because you're are as wrong as can be. S-
  6. My math says that is 2 over...... S-
  7. If you get good enough for it to matter, you will have a new iron set by then. S-
  8. More misinformation! As of January 1st, 2010, any iron manufactured on or after that date that wants to be listed as conforming needs to conform to the new groove rules. S-
  9. Not true at all. I know the Titleist AP2 irons that have been in bag for over a year conform to the new groove rules. There are others. S-

  11. Unless you are playing in a tournament, or for money with friends, what does it matter if you pick up your ball after you reach or exceed your maximum ESC score for a hole? Is there a rule that says this is improper and they you cannot post a score if you do so? S-
  12. I found the Nike Dymo² Str8-Fit with UST AXIV Core 69 stiff shaft to be a complete bomber. Longer than any Burner or R9 I have hit. It is straight for sure but you can work the ball. S-
  13. I used to be a strong proponent of laser rangefinders over GPS units. I still think they are great devices. I even plan on keeping my Bushnell Pinseeker 1500TE in the bag for a while. Once I become comfortable using the SkyCaddie SG5, I will probably sell my 1500TE. Then again, maybe I will keep both so I will know the exact distance to the flag when I feel I can go pin hunting. As I have become a better golfer...make that a more intelligent golfer, I find that I am not just whacking the ball as far down the fairway as I can. I score better having full shots into the green and plan for them now. I am hitting irons off of some tees that I used to use driver or 3 wood. Often I am using mid irons where I used to use long irons. Layup information has become critical. On par 5's, I used to always try to reach in two or hit as far as I could. I'd end up in some pretty bad spots more often than not. That does not happen nearly as often now that I am laying up with a plan. A plan that the SkyCaddie makes possible. Also, I no longer aim at the flag on every shot to the green. Knowing the distance to the front, middle, and back of the green on my target line is critical as well. The IntelliGreen feature is incredible. It makes it easy to plan the best shot into the green. If I have left myself a full shot into the green, it can make it easier to safely pin hunt. Especially with a 9 iron or less. I am scoring better than ever. Part of that is improvement in my ball striking. But most of it is because of better course management. Course management that really isn't possible with a laser rangefinder. S-
  14. I hope you aren't using it in rounds used to establish your handicap...... S-
  15. They do rely solely on satellites. All GPS units do. But, SkyGolf is the only company that gets their measurements by walking the course. All other companies use satellite imagery to get their measurements. So the SkyCaddie units are more accurate. I looked at most of the GPS units available today and I chose the SkyCaddie SG5. I don't mind the annual fee because I think it is a small price to pay for way SkyGolf measures courses. I also think they have the best user interface and feature set. I don't need hole fly overs and I don't need to see a tiny satellite view of a hole. S-
  16. My favorite balls from last year were the Titleist Pro V1 and the Bridgestone B330-s. But I did not like the new versions of these balls for this year. So I went on a new ball hunt. I tried a bunch of balls including the Srixon Z-Star, TM LDP Red and Black, and the Pro V1x. I didn't get along with any of them. I put the Callaway Tour ix and Tour i through a pretty thorough test in the last month and have come to the conclusion that I like both balls. But the Tour i is my favorite. It's a firmer than the Pro V1 but not by much. I very much like the controllable spin I get with short irons and wedges. The Tour i feels just fine off the putter too. So the Tour i is my favorite ball over any other I have tried this year by a decent margin. This is a bit of surprise because I used to just hate Callaway balls. S-
  17. Yes, the FJ WeatherSof is the glove I use. It last me many months. S-
  18. Shot a 78 (39/39) on a 70.7/130 course. This is my best 18 ever. 6 bogies, 1 double boggie, and 2 birdies. 3-putted from 8 feet on one hole. S-
  19. Rick, The assumption is that you are not going to play your stroke. If match play, you really don't have much choice. S-
  20. Actually, if someone asks you to mark your ball because they think it will interfere with their shot, you have to mark it. See Rule 22-2. S-
  21. So you don't see "Golf Pride" while you are looking down at the ball. S-
  22. I was a Mizuno guy until I hit the MP-57 and AP2 irons back to back on the golf course. Both had PX 5.5 shafts. I loved the feel, the trajectory, the playability, and the forgiveness of the AP2 irons. For me, the only area the MP-57 irons equalled the AP2 irons was in feel. I have since hit the MP-52 and MP-62 irons and still prefer the AP2 irons. S-
  23. Yeah, why would all those PGA Tour players want to us those dull, high ballooning, ugly irons. Wait!! Maybe because they are not dull, high ballooning, ugly irons!! S-
  24. These are two different irons intended for different levels of players. The MP-52 is a more forgiving iron with a higher ball flight and is intended for a less accomplished player than the MP-57. The MP-57 offers more ability to work the ball and control the trajectory. Neither is inherently better than the other. S-
