  1. I completely agree with Paz on this one ... I have been luck enough to play on a course I can often play slow and work on my game. In the past 2 months i have dropped from a 25+ HC to a 21.7 and still improving. I do spend 1 day a week on the range and try to play on the course at least 3 times (9 holes min.). One thing I do like to do is play 2 or 3 balls per hole a couple times a week - but at least once in a week I play ONLY 1 ball and play for score. That way I can better tell just how much improvement I am getting in my game.
  2. I was EXACTLY where you are 6 months ago - went with the Cobra Transition S set, after comparing to Adams, Pings, TaylorMades and others. Hit as many different sets as you can ... only way to know for sure what set fits you best. (my opinion ..)
  3. I agree about my "blow-Ups' typically starting with a bad tee shot followed by a botched recovery attempt, etc, etc ... The most frustrating ones however are where the tee shot is great, but then I botch the approach and then the chip/pitch and then 3 putt or worse. I tend to let this situation get in my head. It is getting better - I am learning not to let my mistakes compound and take my medicine when it is called for.
  4. Played a "Fun" 9 holes with my daughter today ... on a Par 4 I normally par easily, I dropped 3 in the pond guarding the right side of the green trying to make a save from a bad tee shot. I would have stopped at one, but my daughter kept egging me on to "go for it again" ... what could I do ... Actually played all 18 holes of the same course this morning with the same ball all the way thru ..
  5. Here's an explanation I found that explains it well:
  6. Every once in a while I come across a simple tip that really makes a big difference in my game. Recently I tried this one in hopes of fixing a fade/slice that developed in my driver and 3-wood swings and now I'm pounding those out straight and down the fairway again!! Just wanted to share it with the Sand Trappers! http://www.golf.com/golf/video/artic...917414,00.html
  7. Thanks for the Cafe Press link Eric! I think I'll order a couple bumper stickers!
  8. Cool! Enjoy the new stix!! Swing Free!!
  9. Not sure where to post this so if it should not be here I apologize - but I was wondering if the owner's of this site have ever made the site logo available in a decal? I would be interested in purchasing these if they were available.
  10. Had pulled my 60 earlier in the season, but after a couple weeks I put it back in. There are a few shots i simply hit better with the 60 over the 56.
  11. Pretty simple ... just a nickname my buddies have called me for years ....
  12. Well granted ... the used one has a couple little "dings" in the upper edge from pop-ups, but knowing my game, had i bought a new one, I'd have knicked it up by the end of the summer anyway. That makes buying a club with a few cosmetic blemishes much easier ...
  13. Was at Golf Galaxy earlier today to pick up some new golf gloves. While there I "test drove" a couple new drivers and 3 woods. Really liked the way I was hitting the '08 Burner 3 wood, but wasn't ready to drop $130 for a new one, so I bought my gloves and left. On the way home I stopped by Play-It-Again Sports just for grins and low-and-behold, they had an identical yet slightly used '08 Burner 3 wood with head cover for $50. I picked it up, headed for the driving range and it's safe to say I'm a happy golfer and pumped to play this weekend!
  14. I like this one too ...
  15. Because I make a part of my living producing TV commercials and representing pro athletes - and this leaves a bad taste. It's just not the right way to promote .... there is no positive message for the product ... I see it as Nike taking advantage of their "property" (Tiger) and if one of my clients were in that situation I would not allow it - no matter what the price tag. It's just in poor taste, in my opinion anyway .....
  16. I have been an Advantage Member for 9 months, and received a couple $10 certificates in that time. I know that I did get notice around the 1st of the year that any points accumulated before Jan. 31 and not used would be lost - I only lost a couple. I went in to buy a new driver just prior to that and explained to the salesman that it would be dumb for me to purchase the driver that day (just prior to Jan. 31) because it would still not put me over 300 points and I would lose those points in a few days ... He spoke to his manager and they gave me a $10 discount to purchase that day. I have been a happy member - sorry there are others with less than satisfying experiences. I'd chalk it up to individual stores more than the company in general. Just my 2 cents.
  17. Have you seen this? I have worked in TV and marketing for 30+ years and I have never seen a TV commercial that was in as poor taste as this one!! I have contacted Nike and expressed my disgust. I was just compelled to do so.
  18. 2 - 16 ball boxes of Slazenger RDF balls = $30.00. At less than $1 p/ball I can afford to lose a few each round.
  19. 1st I would set my stepmom and my inlaws up right. Put a good chunk away to make sure my kids would have a good start in life. Donate a good portion to charities for Kids with Special Needs, particularly but not limited to those with Downs Syndrome. Then I would build a nice home on a decent sized lot, and prepare to spend the rest of my days traveling and doing the things my wife and I have always wanted to do.
  20. "What a Muppet!" .... I'm Still laughing!! and I've seen this a dozen times. Poulter is one of my absolute favorite characters - no matter what sport you talk about! And I like his game ...
  21. Bushnell Neo has that function. For an additional $20 it might be worth looking into.
  22. I pulled an old Callaway Steelhead 5 wood out of an old set of clubs and took it to the course today. Had 3 chances to use it on 200 or so yard approach shots ... in 2 of the 3 situations it works great. Weird deal is I have never been able to hit this club in the past, but I have been working harder on my swing the past several months and apparently its beginning to show. Thank Guys!
  23. Boyder

    Life.

I have Planet earth on Blue Ray Disc .... Guess I already know what I'm getting this next Christmas ...
  24. Here's the interview Tiger did today with The Golf Channel: http://www.thegolfchannel.com/golf-v...811/?ref=26000
  25. I hear that! Maybe the way for me to go is to work on increasing my driver distance - then I would have no need for a 200+ approach club ... There I go - thinkin' too much again!
