I hit mine about 170...but that's really not important..if your hitting your 6 160 and doing it straight and consistent , that's a great shot! I'd rather lose 10 yards on a club and gain the consistency

So by this quote your saying that people with money or in a finacial position to play a private course/country club would never steal a ball or have a lack of course etiquette ?? Sorry, but That's a pretty ignorant statement .

good thing, cause in some states homosexual acts are frowned upon.

Closest I ever came has been about 18" , but about 6 years ago i got an eagle from 180 yards out...nothing close since then..LOL...

I see your point. But i highly doubt it could be illegal to use. Like I said, i am sure that at some point sooner or later, clubs need to be regrooved and i don't see why that would not be legal. I guess the only thing that comes to mind is if "certain" ways or tools to regroove might be illegal. I'm surprised no one else has chimed in to verify.

I guess if i was getting paid to play golf i might give a crap, but since i just play to have a good time, i'm using it!...besides i dont really seewhy it would be illegal, i'm sure pro's need to sharpen their wedges at some point too., right?

Wow, I'm a little shocked not to see Tennessee listed from anyone... This state has some beautiful courses and an abundance of courses at that.
-
believe it or not, but I have an old wedge that i still use because i like it so much and I ended up buying a groove sharpener on e-bay (i was skeptic ) but I thought I'd give it a shot for $14 and the little gadget is amazing...it works really well . the first time i did it, i went a little overboard and it was scuffing my balls up pretty bad..LOL... now what i do is, every 3 or 4 rounds i go over my wedge with the sharpener a few times...Benn using this thing for 3 years so i already got my money's worth. This is the one i bought, although when i bought mine, they hadn't invented the large grip , LOL, so mine is a little tough to use, this looks alot easier to use since they added the grip http://cgi.ebay.com/GOLF-GROOVE-SHAR...item439eb06688

Best Ball for Mid, Mid-High Handicappers
Pete405 replied to Sowbug2000's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
had my first round with the Top Flight Gamer and i must say...they absolutely SUCKED!!! matter of fact after 9 holes i went back to the Noodle and could tell a difference right away. Was worth a try after all you guys recommended them, but i'm gonna have to pass on the Gamer. I just seen the Taylor Made Penta , has anyone given them a try yet??? they are quite pricey though. i believe they were $45 -
I think it's because 90% of the golfers are out on the course to have a good time and enjoy the game....I don't really think to many people are that concerned about keeping a handicap, especially when their just going out there with their buddies to enjoy the weather, get away from the wife & kids and drink some beer. It's not like 90% of golfers are ever gonna get paid for their talent anyway. It's a hobby not a job.

about 3 years ago i read that the national average was 105

I think some of you guys need to clean your vagina's and get a grip on yourselves over the whole Tiger thing... but hey, thats just me!

other than the fact that they are still dwelling on all the personal stuff that went on in recent months, I don't really see ANYTHING wrong with that commercial...I don't see why it's in "poor taste" ...it's just a commercial.... Let the dude play golf and let him & his family worry about the personal issues

Ever played with some hacker who won't take advice?
Pete405 replied to ericstamper's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
ME & my golf buddy will usually exchange advice, but even that's annoying to some degree..... The problem (to me) is that in the past,I have been paired up with total douchebags that not only suck at the game but loved to tell me "what i'm doing wrong", now i'm no pro but i can have a decent round of golf when I try hard enough, and to have some puttz that gives himself 22 mulligans a game and then tells me he shot a 80 , offer me advice is laughable...... My advice is this... Don't offer advice unless someone asks for it, PERIOD! -
I don't know why anyone would really care about such a ridiculous list.... If you like a certain club/clubs whats the difference if their considered "obsolete"?? I just now got rid of my Taylor Made Firesole Irons, and Driver and i'm sure those would be considered BEYOND obsolete. My nephew is actually playing with my irons and he absolutely loves them.
-
It sucks, but you have to realize one of two things... either they have no programming to fill the time, or they have to allow these types of ridiculous infomercials to pay the bills..Believe it or not infomercials pay ALOT of money , and the Golf channel has to pay the bills. It's part of the business

i don't see how my gloves ripping at the top middle of my index finger would be caused by a "wrong grip"... but if someone could explain that , please let me know so i can correct it
-
nevermind...I just looked them up... they have outstanding reviews on golfreview.com...the only downside i was reading is that they tend to crack?? Thats a little weird.... but seems like a great performer
-
never even heard of them...post up a picture, i'd like to see it
-
I don't think that's a good price at all.... you could find those on ebay for half that ..but hey, I'm a cheapskate!
-
I think the one brand i have NOT tried yet has Been FootJoy since you said that..LOL... Bug, I have a 4 of the Callaway Warbird gloves in my bag...LOL..I will try one out this weekend.
-
I have tried ALOT of gloves and they all seem to rip after a few rounds,... Mine ALWAYS rip at the middle of my index finger. drives me nuts..as for the feel, I have used quite a few that were just fine. Luckily , we have a liquidation store by our house and whenever they get gloves I buy all they got since they are usually only $3.00 .. I am using Callaways right now since i have 4 of them and they seem to be really good on fit & feel, but after 4 rounds, the index finger is ripping. But I have a Max Fli & Taylor made also that I need to try out.

Those are some great pics... I never done fly fishing myself, but we went trout fishing for the first time last year and there were a ton of people fly fishing and it looked like alot of fun. 75% of my fishing is bass and i would say the other 25% is for Catfish & Crappie ..The reason I haven't done the trout fishing much is because it's not included in our fishing license, we have to purchase an additional "trout stamp", so I don't bother trout fishing except for the 1-2 days a year when they have "free fishing day". That's when i take advantage of the trout fishing. A friend of mine got me into fishing last year and i'm pretty much hooked (no pun intended) LOL... I love it!

Man I bet there are some great deals in that store....I would probably go broke though if i lived that close to their outlet store..LOL

How long do you keep your irons?
Pete405 replied to GolfinGQ's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have been using the same set up since 2003 (Taylor Made Firesole Irons & Driver & Mizuno T.P.Mills Putter) The last 3 years i haven't played that much golf, but have made a commitment to get back to regular play this year (as time allows) . I just upgraded my entire bag except for Wedges to the Adams A4OS Irons, & I just scored a new Mizuno Bettinardi BC-3 putter about an hour ago..I have been in love with that putter since the first time I tried it at the golf shop, But $230 was over my budget for a putter, just got it off ebay for under $100. I also upgraded my driver to the Cleveland Hi-Bore . I DO think at some point upgrading would be a good idea. The technology in golf in the last 10 years has been amazing and I think it can and will definitely help a persons game. The best part about "my" upgrade... I sold all my old stuff (except my T.P. mills putter) and ended up buying everything on ebay with Only about $150 out of my pocket.. So to me Spending $150 and updating my entire bag was well worth it.
