delav, are you playing the trispeed or the trispeed tour version? I normally play prov1 or tp black. The other day i picked up a regular nxt and loved the pickup of distance. I couldnt believe it. However is was rolling out too much on shots. I would like to find a longer ball than the prov1/tp balck and willing to give up some feel, just not as much as the nxt loses.

taylormade burner ht irons
mcotter replied to nothing2prove's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
He is wrong. It does stand for High Trajectory. They are burners with a shaft with a low kickpoint only available at Dicks. This is what the Taylormade Rep told me. -
I played a ball I fouond today and....

Pro V1. I am going to head to Golfsmith soon. Really would like to find a new ball for tomorrow. -
Sorry, yet another "beginner set"-thread

Lady, are you just looking at irons or the whole bag (bag, irons, putter, woods)? Give a budget. -
I was plugging along today and my short game was really killing me. I was playing a Pro V1 and was 8 over through 7 holes. On the way to the 8th tee I saw a ball in the weeds. It was a Titleist NXT with a bad cart path mark on it. I dont know why but I decided what the heck and put it in play. I was one over par the last 11 holes and finished with an 81. I liked the distance of the ball but didnt like that there was seemingly no check. I hit past/over a few holes but was getting up and down, including a sandy par. Anyone know a ball that is similar feel but a bit more check. I may be done with $45/doz balls.

never have had a lesson. I dont have the time to really practice or remake my game. I know that if I get lessons, I will need to spend alot of time rebuilding my swing. Not willing to invest that time with 3 yound active boys at home.

5 birdies for a 75. Funny thing that I was a 16 handicap at the time playing a US Opne qualifier course. everything just seemed to go in the hole, inclluding a 50 footer on 18. That was several years ago.

as a bonus you wont have to change your shoes before hopping on yur skateboard and riding home after the round.

Congrats! It is a great feeling to have birdies. Without that strong exciting feeling, 80% of us wouldnt be playing still because the bad holes are hard to deal with at times. We need the euphoria of the great holes to get us coming back. I forget my first birdie and eagle, but will NEVER forget my first (and only) double eagle. I was out teaching my father-in law how to play and it was brutal because he was terrible. I chip in on the first hole for birdie and he doesnt see it. The 3rd hole was a short par 5 (489 yards). I hit driver down the middle. He takes about 6 shots before i get to hit my second shot. I hit my Taylormade Titanium Burner Raylor (still my favorite after about 14 years) on the screws. The green is down below a mound so I didnt see where it landed but know it has to be on the green or close. About 9 shots later we get up to the green and I cant find my ball. I finally say "Hey Clyde go look in the hole and see if my ball is in there". He wants over, and sure enough, picks it up out of the hole and tosses it back to me. Then he says, "does my putt go right or left?" I couldn't believe it. I just hot a DOUBLE FREAKIN EAGLE and not even a "Great Shot!" or "Awesome!". He couldnt appreciate it. The chip-in on #1, par on #2, and double eagle on #3, and nobody to celebrate with. Figures.

+1. Dude, the answer is right in front of you. Rain gloves- GOOD ONES. I have some footjoy ones that are decent, but the Zero Restriction ones that I have are unbelievable. They are awesome. If it starts raining, just get them as wet as possible, and they are awesome. Why change grips? Doesnt make a lick of sense to go away from your favorite nice weather grips to try to find something for conditions you play the minority of the time.

have any of you hit all of these or at least two of these for comparison? I am cosidering these irons and really have a difficult time hitting inside into a screen. I am a decent ball striker and am wanting to replace my irons. I am a straight ball hitter looking for a nice forgiving but great feeling iron. I am concerned about the top line of the AP1's but if they are THAT much more forgiving, I would consider. I will probably try to hit the g15 too, but that top line is pretty think. Thoughts?

Something went horribly wrong today - VENT.

Maybe he is in a straight jacket somewhere. those "misses" make me crazy. When I get them on the course, I have to aim to completely miss the ball on inside. -
Callaway x22 vs Taylormade Burner Plus Irons
mcotter replied to toddmlazarchick's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
From Ralph Maltby about the reason the x-20 are more forgiving than the x-22's: "Callaway has distributed the weight differently on the x-22's, which has caused the vertical C.G. to be raised from .635” in the X-20 to .741” in the X-22. This obviously lost them some MPF points. Some of this is probably due to the new hosel design for their 2009 bore through models. All the other iron specifications for measuring MPF such as “C” Dimension and MOI are similar in both models. -
Callaway x22 vs Taylormade Burner Plus Irons
mcotter replied to toddmlazarchick's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Have you hit either? Have you been fitted? I will tell you that if you are interested in the Callaway clubs, You should look that the x-20's, they are similar and the Maltby playability facor is higher on the x-20's. They can be bought for $399. They would be a great iron set to get you started. Buy the at Golf Galaxy or Golfsmith and they will bend them to the correct lie angle for you. -
Which discontinued balls do you miss the most? which do you use now?

Maxfli HT Urethane ball. Loved it! -
This game is unlike any I have ever known. I have come to realize that I hardly ever (not just this year) leave the course content. I either play well, and want to play more (emergency nine), or play poorly and and leave pissed off so much that I am frustrated the rest of the day. I am more than frustrated about my game this year. I have been a decent player for awhile and have carried a handicap of 6-9. This year, however, I can't play worth a nickel. I have all rounds between 88-93 except 2 of them. Until this year, my irons have always been accurate from 150 or so in, and my short game has been better than average. I have not made a putt outside 10 feet this year. (about 12 rounds or so) I am seriously considering a sabatical for the rest of the year because I am not enjoying the game the way I am playing. I love the game, but I currently hate it more.

"Golf is Not a Game of Perfect"- best one out there.

I have played 2 cleveland RTG wedges and a vokey for a long time. Recently i bought the MIzunos ( http://thesandtrap.com/clubs/mizuno_..._wedges_review ) and i have to say that they are awesome. They really are. I would definitely give them a good look. They spin well and I can stop them on a dime. I really like the weight of the head. Seems a bit heavier than the RTG's and I like it. I feel like I can feel the head position throughout the swing. I dont think you can go wrong if you stick with the better brands. Good Luck.

I see the irons manufacturers typically profile the player they think the club is best suited for. Usually I see low, mid, and high handicappers. Some say low to mid, others say mid to high, etc. What do yiou think the golf manufacturers consider low, middle, and high?

Played Blackmoor a couople weeks ago and I was disappointed with the blind tee shots. I thought it was a bit gimmicky in some areas. Conditions were marginal.
-
sure you would. You would be one of the best drivers on tour.

I was really sad to hear about her. She has been my screensaver for my computer for a while now. I must admit that the picture of her i have been using is not the one in the story. It is smoking hot. I feel bad for her family.

of course shorter shaft is easier to control, but shorter in distance too. I choke down a bit on mine on tighter holes and let her all the way out and rip it on more open holes.
