  1. change the spike to a new one, if issue persist I would rma the shoes and get a replacement.
  2. It was an intended change of drop from woods. DQ should been a formality.
  3. Tiger gained an advantage, so DQ should be a formality.
  4. Matrix. Nothing beats it.
  5. and people assume the tour pros knows what they do? really?
  6. Of course they dont hit it 300+ with bad mechanics and limited modern swing ideals like S&T; and other such you know x-factor ideas. Trained by me they would be. You can hire me if you want but until then I didnt know I needed someones approval to do what I do. if you want, set up a test, take any tour pro, spend 2 hours with them and tape it, send them to me I do 2 hours with them and tape it and they hit it longer and better with me. Cant hit it long with such limited mechanics popular out there or accurate for that matter. Just beacuse they play the tour dont actually mean they know what they are doing. I met a few and you know confused gets a whole new meaning then. I just note people dont like the truth out there in golf instruction. Modern mechanics with his old swing vs new improved mechanics the BMS system from me. Difference? oh around 80 yards and this guy is trained by me. 350 yard and its that easy. Dan could listen to me actually and learn a thing or two.
  7. His swing is modern mechanics obviously wont be optimal. He should be able to hit it 300+ and still is way shorter than that. he is inconsistent as his trackman numbers show his swing changes in variation to much for each one. His ability to save himself is good. but 240 from tee and wild just shows how hard he makes the game. Intensity isnt the only variable in deep practice or a better method even though a better method allows you more consistency. he still is technique oriented.
  8. No thing such as muscle memory. So called reflex training has it backwards. 3 weeks is the time it takes for the brain to solidify the neural net and around 3 months more to make it habit. that is the average process time it takes and it can be done faster and slower depending on who and what change and what practice pattern. If you try to change current mechanics then it will be like Tiger woods that after 3 years dont have it down with the so called next generation swing. Its always the brain that is changing and altering not the muscle memory.
  9. That is what pressure does to those that cant handle it. mistakes
  10. You simply dont understand. Very common out there. if you dont understand a weight shift and how the transfer of weight is made in an athletic motion then I guess your not teaching athletic stuff. Nothing wrong with it but who wants to be a short hitter in golf? Force and shift of weight is linear and angular, and weight is transfered during an active move from one side to the other side which also means the golfer is in transition during the impact zone. During the transition phase the golfer is also weight less for a moment due to the inert forces and again indicate a transfer of momentum and force. Moving weight is a key ingredient to create leverage and speed trough force. You can either do it the way Hogan did it which requires a ton of range work to keep the timing up and your also wont be a long hitter that way. You can do it the way stack and tilt does it and be a short hitter and spreading the ball all over the course. Still it wont change that the weight will be on the trailing side before impact and and on the leading side after impact. If one do a proper athletic swing. Tour pro´s cant do that due to them loose out accuracy when they try for more distance as they increase their timing which they then cant handle. Just ask Luke Donald.
  11. solid and repeatable. accelerating trough the ball, pretty much textbook chipping. if one want more control, shorten the backswing and it beats anything as it will hop and stop.
  12. That it does for any tour swing. Anyone saying things differently dont understand weight shift. The weight shifts during the swing so before impact the weight is on the trailing side. past impact the weight has shifted to the left side. Moving the hips laterally isnt enough. Tour pro´s also hit it short due to them dont utilize weight shift effectively as they loose accuracy if they do so.

    Going Pro

shoot 65 or similiar on any course in competition and be a +5 and then your ready for it. +1 is good but its a mile away from touring level consistency. you need to handle the pressure when money is on the line, when the competition and cut is in question and you need to make 3 under in the next five holes to make the cut. its more mentally taxing than most realize. cost a ton to play, and if you dont make money, which the number is that 20% of golfers take 80% of the money. making cuts is key there. 12 pars, 4 birdies and 2 bogies if you do that consistently or better then you can play on any tour.
  14. cant recreate previous sensation. brains dont work that way.
  15. Putting is easy. Most people cant read a green so for those aimpoint can be an aid but a lot also makes it a limit. you can have perfect zero degree putting stroke like some Pro´s still dont make putts. Once your skill is good enough you shouldnt miss much within 15 feet.
  16. Depends how you practice. Deep practice dosnt guarantee result. You also need to know what to attend to that makes you better. (plan/strategy/recipe) I love to practice for example, I can stand hours and days and hit balls. However my practice is short, with high intensity and focus due to I make sure I improve in that practice measureable. The Talent code book dont explain why of 10 people in the tennis class only 1 or 2 or maybe none makes it to the tennis tours.... or why one class has 3 that succeed, and Daniel coyle have no answer to that. So your point is right, some do practice and have no result even as they follow the deep practice routine. Unless you have measureable tangible result becoming slightly better when you do so. As I work with a tour pro its evident when I assist in a change to do it so it works, last time he wanted slightly more consistency so I adjusted his back swing he had for 20 or so years, 1 hour instruction, 2 range sessions and its working as the old one. I also altered his set up after that and again slightly better. If your making a change, it should work directly and also would be measureable. The Dan Plan dont do that enough. That is why he is platueing out.
  17. Yea he is from the Leadbetter camp. She still works with him. her driving has always been wild and its not getting better. really common for tour Pro´s to tun to swing gurus who dosnt know their thing.
  18. wont matter what she does, Gary had her move her timing so its really hard for her to be consistent. she wont dominate as long she sticks with him.
  19. Modern set up pretty much guarantee a bad golfer. no room to learn the swing mechanics.
  20. anyone can make that. Its true that 9% or so of all golfers make it into single handicap. its even true that even less become scratch. That is how good current golf instruction is and has been. The way the golf swing is taught makes it that hard and complicated. Dan have done a good job but he needs to work even less and better mechanics wouldnt be a bad idea. I spent the last 3 years working trough golf instruction, re-defining it making it both easier and simpler and importantly effective. and it looks like this currently for one of my students Looking at Dan´s plan I would work it way differently. The skill set one needs to make scratch or better is due to high consistency in every facet of the game and you basically cant make mistakes. Its also highly mental to be able to handle the pressure when your having a good round and just keep it going, and one area Dan has issues with. The 10000 hour is a guideline, you can make it in 2000hour or 30000 hours, and all comes down to is consistency. If your ballstriking is good enough mistakes wont happen. Currently that is what Dan cant do and then mentally the pressure shows he needs to work on that.
  21. Yani will drop even further. Her game will highly likely to become even worse. Her swing change is the culprit of that. Her timing is now worse, consistency will be hard to conjure up on a steadly basis. Her 2013 as far is horrible, 19 shots after stacy.
  22. Must be the club and ball technology rules. My favorite moment was, so your buying new clubs? The guy I coach yes. I went on, so your buying those due to they are better? He "No beacuse they looks good as there is no difference between them." Looks and feel
  23. It allows you to hit the ball 330yard or more due to leverage and dynamic athletic action. an amatuer that hits the ball let say 200yard with driver wont benefit much with a weight shift action as they are likely to put the brakes on in their swing with compensations already. adding weight shift which is actually two shifts your doing allows more speed to happen and with less compensation accuracy will increase at the same time. This is really hard for most amateurs to understand due to their understanding about the golf swing and what to do is highly flawed which often also is true for pro´s but they have solved how to do it so it works for tour level play not saying that they actually understands it. In every other sport you move the weight why not do it in golf? any other instruction dont make sense.
  24. Since you move the club on at least two planes, question is which one you would be square to. If it is or not dosnt matter if your able to improve your impact. People simply put dont understand the plane and the Hogan reference many quote is highly flawed.
  25. Yea Foley is good with those terms and he throws them out like leafs. He is good building confidence for the player but the golf swing? Pretty much not understanding it.
