  1. There were several balls on the course the next morning without glow sticks in them. I was careful not to lose any balls either. I hated to pay 80.00, lose the balls I had and not get to, at least, finish the round.
  2. I can say that I've played night golf now. Don't know that I'll play it again, but..... it was interesting. I took the advice from a couple of guys here about those "glow-in-the-dark" balls being tough on big head drivers, and used my back up set. Glad I did. There were two guys that busted their drivers wide open that night.
  3. I had a laugh just reading this one and trying to figure out what some of the words meant....
  4. I haven't read through the whole thread, but will they be more offended if you hit from the tees that make your game and theirs more equal or if you hit from their tee box and constantly hit much further? Either way, you'll be a different points on each hole (longer holes anyway). I play from the ones designed for my age, the wife plays from hers, and the seniors play from theirs. That makes the game more enjoyable to all. If you hit from theirs, would you feel that you needed to hold back your swing to keep from hitting it so far?
  5. I can't match the guy dying on the last hole, but one thing that really gets me is the guy in some of the groups, probably drinking a little too much beer, standing by the shrubbery, draining the lizard if you know what I mean. There are relief stations about every 6 holes or so. I think they could hold it that long. There are women and children out there, for Pete's sake. What ever happened to common decency and a little modesty? And before some say... "oh well, I do that all the time", I hope you aren't bragging about your uncouth behavior.
  6. "I will be on vacation during the next week with limited or no access to a phone or email." Simple. It's a respectful away message and you are letting people know that you will not be responding. If they still send you a call or email, then ignore it, but you have let them know ahead of time. If you answer, they will continue. Again... simple.
  7. I'll have to agree with this way of thinking. It helped my overall score, mainly because it took the pressure off of my individual score and possible mistakes. It also helped my confidence level. Now, on Sundays, after playing the 3 to 4 man scramble on Saturday, the wife and I play our own two "person" scramble, where my shot is the one we play about 95% of the time, and our score is usually around +1 to +4. So, that tells me that my "scramble" score, without the stress of a creating a high score on my own, is much better than before. We also feel that if we can get to even par together, then our individual score will also be much better.
  8. I'll have to agree with you on that last statement. I'd much rather hit is consistently down the middle of the FW. I usually hit 300 yds, give or take a yard here and there.
  9. That is funny!
  10. I'm right there with you on anything I order. I'm constantly checking the UPS web site for updated tracking info on my new controller for my golf cart, that is OUT FOR DELIVERY today. Like my wife tells me "great things come to those who wait". I don't like waiting!
  11. I usually get to the course early enough to pitch some shots on the practice green. That gives me a chance to work the back some, get a feel for the club in my hand since it's been a whole week since I held one. I usually show a 4+ stroke advantage over just arriving and heading straight to the first tee box.
  12. Thank you! I'm with you on that. I don't like either of those words.
  13. I've only holed out at the grand distance of around 35 yds with my PW.... but that's just for now. I'm getting better and expect better things to happen.
