  1. You left-handers really get the shaft on golf clubs. Makes me glad I play golf the right way...
  2. I picked up a used Ping Scottsdale Anser. It's a remake, but still has an awesome feel to it, and I love the sound slot. After some cleaning with some steel wool, it looks as good as new.
  3. When putting should you look at the ball or your putter? I've been looking at my putter to try and get my Stan Utley swing down, but I wonder if I'm developing a bad habit by doing so.
  4. I try to combat this by wearing sandals whenever I'm out and not golfing. So far it has worked a little bit, but the more I golf, the more I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle.
  5. You were one day and two posts too late.
  6. Thanks. Most of the statues were at the Getty Villa. Anyone can photograph there, as long as it isn't a travelling exhibition. When we went in June they had an Aztec exhibit which I would have LOVED to shoot, but wasn't allowed. Oh well. They do a good job of lighting the statues there, so it's just a matter of getting the right angle, and then intensifying the shadows and darks in post-processing. I would really recommend going to the Getty Villa. I, personally, like it better than the Getty Centre. The Getty Villa has some really old stuff there. A few of the statues are from 4000-6000 B.C.
  7. This is the same thing I do. I don't want to take another lesson until I have fixed what was told to me in the first lesson. Otherwise, it's just a re-cap of what was told to me last lesson, and I don't think I would be getting my moneys worth.
  8. A friend of mine broke his Taylormade driver at the range. I don't remember which model it was. He was throwing balls up in the air and hitting them with his driver like a baseball bat. He must have hit the shaft on one of them, because it made a noticeable *crack*. He held up his driver, and the club head and 1/4 of the shaft stayed there for a second before it fell over. It was still attached by a thread of graphite though, so it just kind of dangled off the end of the shaft like a wind chime. $300 gone. Lesson learned.
  9. Golf is my art. My club is the brush, the ball is my paint, and the course is my canvas. But more seriously, photography is my creative medium. I started digital about a year ago, and am just getting into B&W; film photography now. My plan is to make my own darkroom once I get out of this apartment and into a house. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jasonwinnipeg/
  10. 4DX Pro. Forged. They are probably my favourite clubs in my bag. They have a small cavity back, but look like blades at address, which I love. I really don't like the look of the fat GI irons that are out there right now. I'm just sad that Nickent went out of business and won't be making anymore clubs.
  11. So I definately could care less about all of that. But if worse comes to worse I would say your just being grumpy. Congrats on that man.
  12. But can it fit 18 cans of beer, and keep them cool? ;)
  13. I've read that the tiles tend to curl up at the joints. Have you had any experience with that? I always just putt on my living room carpet. I set up two shot glasses, one at each end and then just putt back and forth trying to hit the shot glass. It makes a nice little *tink* sound.
  14. Yeah, there are drainage holes at the bottom. I've never had a problem with the cooler pocket getting wet due to condensation.
  15. Seconding this. I had my eye on this one for quite a while because of the 14 full length dividers and the extra large cooler pocket. I bought three little ice packs, and throw them in the cooler pack before I head out for a round. It keeps my drinks nice and cold throughout the entire round. And because it's a cart bag, I don't care about the extra weight of the ice packs.
  16. The Adams Tom Watson PVD wedges are on sale at Rockbottomgolf right now. http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/adams-...wedge-set.html
  17. I picked up my Nickent Arc 54 wedge a couple of weeks ago from Golf Town for $25. Brand new. I was looking for a 56 to complete my set, but hell, I'll take a 54 for $25.
  18. But if they signed an agreement with his league, they should be abiding by that agreement. Otherwise, what's the point in signing and agreement? If it was me, I would see if it happens again next week, and if it does, definitely mention something.
  19. Yeah, that seems like a pretty good analogy.
  20. I would recommend getting a lesson. The instructor will be able to give you a better idea of what to work on as opposed to trying a quick-fix here and there on the fly. Oh, and no, I've never felt like that about my swing. It may not be the best, but I'm working on it with my instructor.

    Charles Barkley

Yeah, I'd like to see a Haney Project revisit where he tries to teach Chuck how to golf left-handed.

    Charles Barkley

Yeah, his problem really is 100% mental. Especially if he can swing fine on the range, but reverts back to his old swing on the course. Hopefully switching to a lefty will help him out.
  23. I think they need it for the casual fan. The fan that pays closer attention to the tour doesn't really need it because they know the other names out there. A lot of people seem to be dying for Tiger to bust out though.

    Charles Barkley

Did anyone happen to catch the celebrity golf tournament this weekend? I don't remember which one it was, but Charles was playing, and they had a short interview with him before he teed off. I really felt for the guy, because he's trying to play this game that he clearly loves, but he has this mental block that he just can't fix - i.e. his swing. They showed him on the range, and he was fine, but when he gets to the course his head just doesn't let him play. The interviewer asked him if he was still having fun, and he said he was absolutely not having fun anymore. He also said that started next week he was going to be playing left-handed. He then went and teed off one-handed. The ball just sort of skidded along the ground. And even though he's not having fun, and it must be embarrassing for him to go out there and play like he is, he's still attending charity tournaments to try and help out. Good guy, that Charles.
  25. I don't know if the ball flight is the same, but I'm always able to tell when I miss hit on mats. The driving range I go to during my lunch break only has mats, so I've gotten pretty good at being able to tell if I hit a shot cleanly or duffed it.
