  1. Possibly he’s just that bad at introspection I guess. I always thought he just really thought he was the smartest guy in every room and also got high on his fame while thinking critics just didn’t “get it” and were beneath him.
  2. I’m trying to figure out what Musk’s end game is, or if he’s just made a couple of horrific financial decisions in buying Twitter and leveraging Tesla to do it.
  3. I'm more than a little concerned about promoting the "AI thinks you want to read" to a first class function. It's bad enough when apps like Facebook did it, but "newsy" apps like Twitter do it, it just perpetuates the growth of "echo chambers" where people aren't exposed to differing views and info.
  4. Really good points. As for the point about Vitamin D and other things that could have helped, I suspect a concern was blunting the message that a worldwide pandemic needed a strong and widespread solution. FAR too many people were already mislead or misinformed about alternative treatments ranging from homeopathic products to animal wormers, and anything that blurred the message might have turned into talking points saying "see, all you need is megadoses of Vitamin D." That being said, I wish medical practitioners had taken the opportunity of speaking about those things during their interactions with patients. Hell, even telling patients that cutting down on their pack a day habit might have been good for their lungs, especially with virus going around. I saw family members of people who have serious respiratory issues going outside the hospital and smoking like a chimney, and knew full well they probably smoke in their house without regard to the at risk relative.
  5. REAL curious what this "improvement" is. The only material change I have seen (same for my friends and associates who use twitter regularly) is the restoration of some prominent people and the ham-handed rollout of Blue.
  6. I'm gonna have to call "no" on that. Been a while since College Physics, but I don't see how you would accelerate in that 2nd scenario.
  7. This guy is either playing 3D chess way above my level, or he's bat crap crazy. Buy the company, gut it, then crowdsource a decision to step down?
  8. My fear is that he's actually looking for even more - he wants to be a leader, if only just as a "savior", of those nutjobs.
  9. I "think" that the POS companies set that up in their apps and make it configurable. But vonsidering that the same options always appear everywhere I go (depending on POS vendor) I suspect most businesses don't bother to change those things.
  10. Super old thread, but an interesting topic IMO. My longest iron in my 4 iron, with a carry around 180-185 on a good day. I don't carry any hybrids as I just haven't given them a try. Since my driver is basically a 200 yard carry, and my 3 wood is fairly close to my 4 iron, I'm not sure that gap needs closing.
  11. That's a fairly common thing where I play, and it's usually related to us all helping follow the shot. Old eyes have to help each other out. But... I would be perfectly OK if my partner simply asked me to move from there.
  12. Yes, but golf is without a doubt THE MOST analyzed sport/activity out there when it comes to amateurs and their own games.
  13. I was referring more to someone playing "up" in order to go "ace hunting". I've only heard of it a time our two, when someone has played a recreational round from their normal tees but then played the par 3's all the way up. They're certainly free to do it, but I wouldn't call that an ace.
  14. I don't have any current links handy, but I've seen several credible reports that hate speech, radical conspiracy theories and incitement of violence are on the upswing on Twitter since Musk began loosening up on free speech (well, speech that doesn't cross him)
  15. "Proper" tees should be fairly obvious IMO. It's the proper tee for your distances and your handicap.
