  2. Welcome to the game, and the forum.
  3. Welcome to the forum.
  4. Yuengling Traditional Lager Yuengling Premium Pilsner Sam Adams Boston Lager
  5. From the "My Father-in-law is the luckiest s.o.b. in the world" file: Uphill par 4, 365 yds. He hits a nice tee shot, then chunks the second shot way off to the right (which I was SURE was gonna be down into a ravine and lost). The ball hits the curb of the cart path and bounces to within 5 feet of the cup. Birdie. Stupid.
  6. Welcome..
  7. 87 (42/45) @ Whittle Springs. Course was a little wet, but a beautiful day to play. Putting was off a little, due the the greens having just been aerated. Pretty happy with my game overall.
  8. Welcome to the trap.
  9. He's right. Greetings from Knoxville, and welcome to the trap.
  10. 86 (44/42) Cedar Hill CC in absolutely ideal weather. They had just aerated and had just re-seeded around the greens to give it that chip-it-off-the-interstate feel.
  11. Agreed. My standard b&r; club is my 9I, but I will change my club choice depending on situation (i.e. more loft with PW for uphill b&r; etc.) Once I got the feel for the shot with my 9I I began to experiment with different clubs and I'm really comfortable with that shot. It's all about feel.
  12. Yeah they make visors and hats. The particular store I have seen them in only had baby blue, but I have seen other colors online.
  13. 1. One putting from any distance. 2. A good straight shot with a 3W. 3. Any shot which makes a deep "thud" when it hits the green (especially a par 3 tee shot). 4. A high downhill chip shot that sticks. 5. Clean shots out of the sand.
  14. 1. Hitting that rare hook (for me), which only happens with water to the left. 2. That chunked chip shot that travels 7 inches. 3. Chips that go over the green. 4. Topping or hitting the ground. 5. Long putts with a perfect line, but long or short.
  15. Cleveland HiBore XLS 3W and 7W. This is the second such 3W I have purchased in a month, but my original was stolen from my bag on a local course.
  16. I use a Cleveland Classic #1. I had been using an Odyssey for several years, but once I tried the Cleve I was hooked. Excellent putter.
  17. I went to the range 2-3 times a week for a month before I ever stepped foot on a course. I have never taken any formal lessons but one of my neighbors (at the time) was an assistant golf pro when he was in college in the early 80's, and he would give me little hints from time to time. My first time out I shot a 111 on a par 72.
  18. Whittle Springs #16, steep downhill flop to within 6" of the cup. Skill is nice, but sometimes a little luck will do just fine.
  19. 85 (43/42) @ Whittle Springs GC. Beautiful day for golf in East TN.
  20. Welcome. You'll find plenty of useful info here.
  21. Welcome to the sand.
  22. I had my 3 wood stolen from my bag today. I have had it like 2 weeks now, and my cart partner and I both go walking down a hill to find his ball, get back up there and it's gone.
  23. I am a bump and run fanatic. Anytime that shot is an option, I will take it as opposed to a flop because I have a lot of confidence in it, and can shoot it well about 90% of the time. My SW gives me the quickest stops, but generally my 9I is my b&r; club. I have used all the way up to a 6I with success. It's just like any other shot, you have to evaluate course conditions and then decide which club works best.
  24. I am loving this thread.
  25. Welcome to the Trap.
