  1. 150 yards and 110 yards.
  2. Stop swinging at the ball. Swing at your target and let the ball get in the way.
  3. Lag is the easiest way to do it, but once you create it I see alot of people let it go to waste. Create the lag through your backswing so that once you are at the top of your backswing you have created as much as you can. From there DO NOT let it go. Just swing the club and maintain that lag. As you come to the bottom of your swing, the lag will release on it's own from gravity/force of your swing. Do not, I repeat do not try to cast that lag downward at the ball with your wrists. Just let it happen.
  4. I do a similar drill, but use golf balls. As I make the putts I slowly move them closer and closer together. I have to sink every putt. Even if we are out for fun and I have the ball inches from the hole I like to hear the ball in the hole. It closes the hole for me mentally I guess.
  5. Like as already been said, start piece by piece. For me personally the quickest and most substantial gain was simply by eliminating the weightshift on the back swing and staying on my front leg. When I first tried it I kept much more than the 55/45 as is outlined. As I got used to it I would allow myself to move a little more back at a time until now I set up somewhere around 60/40. That one piece alone will change your golf swing. After that the downward turn of the left shoulder was the best gain for me. Everyone is different, but do a little experimenting with some of the pieces, then keep what you are comfortable with and leave the rest for practice at the range.
  6. "Try" both and see which one works best for you. Typically speaking square drivers offer a little more forgiveness if that is what you want. Back when I bought I square driver I got rid of it after less than 2 months of using it. I bought a "regular" headed driver and worked on learning how to hit it. I wanted to learn to work the ball etc so that's what worked for me. Hit as many as you can, figure out what you want out of the driver and go from there.

  8. It can also be played first on the green, first in and lowest score although I don't see that version too often. It is alot of fun to play it the way finoky said when you have a bunch of guys of different skills.

  11. See, I disagree. I think someone needed to come along and do exactly that in the game of golf. The swing needed to be demystified, the "rules" challenged. It's been criticized, but keeps growing and growing.
  12. How important is it to the average golfer? If a set or irons is cut down 1.5 inches, how many grams of lead tape would need to be added to the head to recover the same swing weight? Same question with a driver. If the shaft is cut or choked down on, would any similar adjustments need to be made? If so again how many grams for 1.5 inches?

  14. I normally hit the ball high anyway, but I have hit the E5 and found it to go very high.

    PGA Fiasco

    Absolutely right and I liked the way he dealt with it. When he approached that shot he likely had no thoughts whatsoever in his head as to whether or not he was in a bunker. He was on the 72nd hole of the PGA championship with a shot that he needed to make. While I feel bad for him I personally feel it will add to his game down the road. He learned a lesson about the importance of keeping your mind where it needs to be on EVERY shot like very few people get to....by losing a MAJOR. Never again will he allow himself to get a step ahead of himself on a shot. He'll rebound and I look forward to his play in the future.
  16. I actually have the opposite problem from you guys. When playing my 3W poorly I'll take a big deep divot with it. Even with the divot I usually get a decent shot out of it. My poor shot is one that goes too high and loses distance because of it. One drill I have seen with the woods is to find an area where you can take some practice shots with the ball above your feet or below your feet accordingly. This would give you either the sensation of swinging down more to get to the ball or up more to keep the club from going to deep.
