honestly i would give a vital body part to play it if it was somewhere else under different managment or whatever. too exclusive dont let women play dont let anyone who is not a millionare play really. all the comments about tiger woods private life from the managment their. its all a load of bull really who wants it.? the exclusivity of the whole play makes me sick. the first tournament i ever saw was 96 masters and i loved it the more i learn about how its almost gaurenteed i will never play their make me dislike it. im not an expert and i live in ireland so im really only making this opinion on what iv been told from other people. iv no problem with courses being private but at least if it was possible for someone who really wanted to get a round they could at some stage. i was told that cypress point works something like this its private but if you try really hard you ill eventually get a shot.? anyway im really against the exclusivity of golf and the manner that the courses are run and the people that run them conduct themselves.to me the masters is the worst major on the best course.

just a note on the push slice swing . im just over my slicing a few months and before i got it right i had a problem .i was swinging in to out and not over the top but still push slicing. i found out after it comes from holding off the release because if a over the top swinger releases properly its a missive hook.so the habbit of holding off builds up because its the only way of having a chance of hitting anything decent. if its this thats holding you back you need to try some release drills and practice it comes eventually. the real end of the slice for me was reading a digest article few months ago about slicing and it said drop the right shoulder down instead of popping it out and forward on the downswing(keeps you on the inside plane). this worked immediatly but was very inconsistant so i followed it up with some other drills and im hitting it great now. the drills are as follows 30 balls concentrating on droping the right shoulder from the top of the back swing(best to use and iron because you might hit fat and exaggerate the drop.. dont worry about the fat ones) 20 balls keeping the right elbow close to you body (dont worry about miss hits) then i proceed to to swing with the swing thought .. at the top weight on the back foot and then rotate hips open letting everything fall into place.. hey presto slice gone .. i find the most important part of this is the rotate hips open first before you make any arm or shoulder movements.your shoulder and arms will move naturaly when you do this and into a good position. from range i have made me saying the word rotate in my head triger my hips rotating and my downswing starting . this really works im after telling a few local guys about it and they are starting to get rid of their slice too. timing is probably the only thing holding them back but it comes after a few weeks im living proof i dont think their is any secret or magic in this method but high handicapers should be told early and often to rotate open first from the lower body and then drop the right shoulder and arms into the shot. if you combine this with the swing though of weight back before rotating the hips good weight transfer comes naturally because you cant rotate your hips with you weight on you back foot. thats my piece i wish i was as good at explaining it as i would be to demonstrate it.so if someone could describe what im on about here better or maybe some proper drills that would be great

usually hit over 200 but i guess i do it over maybe 2 hours and im usually hitting pretty fast and stopping and maybe chatting with my friends or setting up rods or something. i only hit maybe 30 drives in a session though. its pretty good in the range i go to value wise 10e for a big bucket . i usually go with a 2 friends and we all get big buckets and then when we go for seconds the guy never charges and just hands out the buckets. its really great but in spring we did practise like 3 or 4 times a week so i guess we were his best customers

Where Are Those 300 Yard Videos?

now that i think about it alot of ranges probably use limited flight balls?? should their marker then be set up to match .. 90% balls = 200 marker at 180 .. they should probably have a big sign up telling people anyway .. also what difference can a ball make .. higher handicapers might use distance balls hence 300 yard drives if you think about it though average guy 20s or early 30s pretty fit.. plays golf every second weekend buys r9 likes the brand and having the name in the bag.. buys pack of wilson distance balls 2 for one in the golf shop.. their a good chance that alot of these guys are going to crack a few of these close to 300 and then let the ego add on the extra few yards to tell the buddys down the bar. since i started playing golf a few years ago i have always held onto the belief thats theirs a certain amount of amnesia generated in a round of golf how one good shot can erase 45 bad ones. thats how we all started i think! hacking around and the 2 good shots we had completly erased the memory of all the other bad ones. i think these drives are golf amnesia manipulated by ego i cant remember all the bad ones but one went 300 and thats all i remember .. their are genuine 300 yarders out their though ... I love this thread haha ... dose anyone have any thought on markers not being placed at the right distances at the range ?? at the range i average 210 - 220 meters (240 yards)(no roll) by the markers on the course yesterday i hit a few 270 280 yards with no roll and today on 498 par5 i left 195 (had some roll course was hard) something dose not add up really. i wonder what balls im using the range?? -
hi guys .. i would just like to add that i find it hard to bring my range tempo to the course with me for some reason.maybe its just tension and energy overdoing it. at the range i find my first 20 or 30 balls twichy and i snatch at them and then i settle down to a nice consisitant tempo. on the course i find it hard to get the same tempo going. would like to add i went for 9 with my girlfriend over the weekend and i was trying some "inside game of golf" coaching on her as she is just a beginner and generally just trying to to stay relaxed so she would be relaxed as it was only her second time on course and what do ya know i settled into a nice tempo and my irons were flying great,i was not even paying attention to my game.i also seem to find this tempo when im tired or even hungover :S ?? iv placed tempo on the top of my thing to improve on list recently anyway its obviously really important ....

imagination yardage is not actually the same as reality yardage. every golfer knows that. well deep down anyway -
wow guys their are some great posts here. think the ones thats really interest me are the "no bloe up holes" and play smart. i think these are equally as important as some of the other points but its something i could put into play straight away. i do have alot to work on and i think il use some of this advice to devide up my practise time over the winter.thanks guys

Hi guys Normdammarine i get that "im not sure about this" when i stand over every drive.Guess its just the doubt built up from 2 years of cronic slicing.Im confident I will sort out my driving in the off season im starting to hit the range twice a week at the moment which will probably build up to 3 or 4 time over next few months.Iv been driving alot better recently since iv been staring to droping the slot slot better. But the consistincy is really costing me a few shots at the moment. Hi harmonius . Iv been reading Dave Pelz short game bible recently and it says something similar to what both of ye guys are saying that its 100 yards in and chipping and putting that are most important . But still when im at the range i found it hard to work on my short game just the lure of hitting balls really.Im a bit of a rake and beat type of player at the range.Dont get me wrong though i do pay attention its just i like to work at pace.Im not sure if i would feel right just turning up with wedges and a putter. Did you do that .? i guess if thats what it takes i would do it. also i guess i used to believe that good putting really came from on course experience but im starting to think that really wrong.. even to the point of being stupid now. also would ye consider tempo extreemly important? and why. and also on the back 9 dose fatigue ever come into play for ye? i always seem to score bad on the back 9 .. not sure exactly why i do obviously feel a little tired from the front 9 but nothing really major?? or maybe its just because i scored well on the front 9 i get too excited and loose my concentration even though i dont really feel as if i do..

Hi everyone Im bouncing around in the 80s the past few months.Usually between 82 and 86 and I would really like to break 80. What I was wondering was can ye guys remember any specific thing that helped you break through. I realise your experience might not be specific to me but I would like to hear because I think hearing other people experiences really help motivate me. And remind me that it is possible

Should I quit? Serious question
mobosecomin replied to Sincraft's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
hi i have a friend that overlap to his right hand ring finger too .. he smacks it 270 no problem when his swing gets going. think its really if your grip is weak or strong thats importand because after all you hands are meant to work as one unit once connected.you really need to practice some though ! would advise getting a net to hit into in your backyard if you can and hit some balls everyday :) even this will improve your overall game. but for big improvments you really need to play twice a week and practice a few times.oh just read the post above think chief broom explains it perfectly :) -
Hi Stratman.just coming on here to see if i can find some help for myself in sorting my slice out iv played for 2 years sliceing and got myself down to 14 hcap with a slice taking at least 6 or more shots off me a round.iv really been working on it all season and im really starting to make progress so i just thought i tell you what iv found out :) first the post above is very important. you are doing a slight reverse pivot with your weight going forward on you backswing and back on your downswing.this is a common problem and im sure you will sort it out naturally enough this dose not relate to your problem directly as i mean if you fix this you will still slice. i really wish someone had told me this a year ago but its very important to swing and not hit the ball.you should really zone in on the concept of swinging and the ball just getting in the way of your swing. OK onto the IMPORTANT part. when you swing you try to hit the ball and this causes the swing to come over the top .. this is bad and what causes the slice .. its the easiest way to hit the ball so most golfers do this at the start and really to be honest most dont get past it and try compensate and never change.its a plague and iv built up so many bad habbits doing this im really working hard to fix it now. if you look at your right shoulder in the down the line video you will notice it pop forward as you hit the ball. this is where the problem is coming from its pushing your club outside your ball and then to hit it you have to slice across it. it feels right and its comfortable to do.but the problem with hitting the golf ball right is at first it dose not feel right .well at first anyway. ok so what to do is really simple drop your right shoulder down instead of popping it out.DOWN NOT OUT !! thats it simple ..!! when you do that the club come from the inside and stop sliceing and sometimes draws(what you want:) ) simple ! well ok not that simple their is loads of other thing that can go wong in the sequence but thats the stop sliceing seceret . really the first problem is that its not going to feel right untill you have hit alot of balls doing this but it ill work eventually. also it can be hard to do this sometimes because your hip is in the way so you have to learn to rotate it out of the way. you also need to build up your flexability to do this its not as easy as it looks i refer you to ernie els and rory mcllroy videos on youtube to see it in action.actually all the pros.best of luck on your golfing journey. just so you know this a really really important tip never forget it its the most important tip iv ever got as a slicer
