Every time I hear her in an interview she sounds like a wietard. I think she will shoot around 78, if par is 72.

I don't think she will play spectacular, but I don't think she will blow up. I think playing some college golf helped her cool down and get back to her, although I haven't looked at any of her results in tournaments. I think she will shoot somewhere even to two over.

I don't think Michelle

will be spectacular but on the other hand I don't think she'll crash & burn. I look for her to make the cut and maybe even get into the top 10 or top 20. BTW, for the record this is my 666th post . . .

That explains why nobody ever said anything about it. besides, she couldn't because she lost amateur status right? Dumb on my part, I didn't think about that.

Sadly, I think Michelle will score between 75-80... However, I think it really doesn't matter what she scores... She will still bank $$$. Hell, Michelle made a little over 2 times what the female world #1 made(in 2007) and she didn't even make a cut... hmm?

No, you're wrong. In fact Michelle made the cut three times on the LPGA Tour in 2007. Not very good, but a LOT better than "didn't even make a cut".

So, Michelle did make some cuts last year... hmm? Did she finish the tourney? If so, what did she place...? I'm aware that Michelle made $9,899(I'm pretty sure a teen at Burger King could top that...) on the course in 2007.... and she still doubled World #1 Ochoa's income. Michelle Wie made $12,509,899 in 2007

My assessment is that a few Sand Trappers will not be particularly happy to learn Michelle is in the clubhouse with a first round score of 69 (three under par).

Actually, I'm glad she did well her first round... I hope she wins, if nothing else, to validate the coin she gets...(whether she plays or doesn't)

      I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.

      Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
