For grooves...to determine if they are worn...I would suggest bringing them to a reputable club fitter and have the grooves measured.
Just an observation...I find it odd how cheaply priced wedges are compared to other clubs...when they are one of the most important scoring club in the bag. People are forking over big dollars on multiple drivers in a year and for Scotty's putter...yet are hesitant to spend ~$100 for a wedge.
