Alright i have the Callaway Tour Authentic Irons that i bought/special ordered from golfsmith like 2 months ago. But my set is like almost all titleist and i sort of want to see if the AP2s are any good. Callaways are buttery soft though and it took me A LONG time to get.

My advice would be to go try out a set of AP2s and just see if you like them. Just because the rest of your set is Titleist, that doesnt mean you irons have to be Titleist too.

Heck, I think you should get some tour issued ones, while you are at it.

sounds like you have the money to blow. go ahead and demo them and if you really like them better then go for it. otherwise, no need to have an all titleist bag.

As stated earlier, seems like money isn't an issue. Demo the AP2's and see which feels better.

is there something in your contract with Titleist that states you need to play their irons??

Personally, if I wanted an all Titleist set, I'd have gone AP2 2 months ago rather than Callaway... I'm guessing the Callaway are a decent iron, so why not stick with them if you hit them well. If there are problems, change to what works best, not necessarily what matches the rest of your clubs.

yeah, it sounds (and looks, according to your signature) like you have a lot invested in this game, might as well go for broke. The APs are good sticks, but what the heck is wrong with your Cally set?

I have been using 690 CB's for about 4 years and love them - previously had Callaway X-12 Pro Series. I recently got seduced by the AP2's - hitting them in the nets at Roger Dunn's in LA. They felt amazing!

Got them on the course and hit the short irons ok, but have never hit as many shanks in my life, and the long irons just didnt seem to get the distance. Gave them 6 rounds (shot 79 at the Classic Club off the tips) and have now sold them and gone back to the 690's. Hated the ProjectX shafts. Give me the TTDG S300's anyday.

It has to be personal preference. You just need to hit the Titleist and see if you like them. I would try the ZB and ZM while you are at it.
