A full review is coming in the next few days but I thought I'd post my thoughts here first. Basically, the differences are very, very slight. In my practice and play I observed that the newer balls are:
  • A bit firmer
  • Spin slightly less
  • A bit longer off the tee

The other thing that Titleist touts is a more durable ball. I would say this is true as well but not to the degree of an old Top-Flite. I would consider the changes Titleist has made to be slight and for the better.

Fairways and Greens.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I just got my first round in with the new ProV1 this past weekend and I really like what they have done with the changes.

My Observations:

Driving Distance was noticably longer while my Iron distance was only slightly longer

I thought the spin on my approach shots and pitches were pretty close to the older 2008 Prov1 model. If they have reduced the overall spin, it doesn't seem by much.

It seems that durability was much better than prior ProV1 models. I played the whole round with one ball and it still looked brand new afterwards.

Overall I have to give this ball a huge thumbs up as one of the best balls I've hit in a long time.

They did this with the nxt brand as well when they came out with the nxt extreme. Personaly I like the extream better than the tours. because of their duribility and garuntee plus it knocks 5 bucks off the price tag for a dozen.

I imagen the results will be the same. more durible cheaper only slitly less spin. titlest always makes good stuff and I dout this will be anny differant. In all honesty I dont like the pro v1s. I know everyone else does but for me they are too expensive not durible enough and too much spin for my tast. One time my friend hit one of the tee on a par 3 and it was a great shot that landed no more that 2 feet away from the pin But he created so much back spin that the ball rolled off the green down a steep hill. All I want is a little back spin to stop the ball and mabe pull it back a little and the nxts do that for me just fine. These prov1x balls may be right up my ally with more duribility more spin than the nxts and not as much as the original prov1s

    • I have nothing to add other than I freaking love her swing and I think she's hot as hell and some of my golfing buddies disagree so I fought them
    • I’m not sure I agree. It’s just what the majority find more entertaining. Most people prefer women’s gymnastics over men in the Olympics. How much hype is there with the men’s compared to the women’s? I bet you can rattle off several big names in women’s gymnastics and only a handful of men. Women’s tennis …same thing. And sure enough, their purses are the same. However, WNBA, awful…LPGA, not near as much interest than PGA. Don’t think it’s really that complicated IMO.

    • Hence your Avatar!😜 I drink a lot of water during the day if I’m playing or exercising. I get cramps otherwise.
    • If you walk up to a food/drink kiosk at Magic Kingdom and ask the person for a cup of "magic water" they will give you a small cup of Sprite for free. About 3 fingers worth. They don't sell alcohol at MK anymore so I go over to one of the courses while she hangs out there.
