My twopence worth on this soulnd like you are rotating your shoulders through the back swing on too flat of a plane. Your left shoulder should dip and your right shoulder raise up on the back swing with very little change in the angle or level of your spine. In that scenario your chin should not get in the way of your left shoulder as you rotate on the backswing.

Dont dip your shoulder. That leads to trouble. Its ok for your head to turn a little bit with your shoulders, its not that big of a deal. Your shoulder is probably running into your head because your spine is not properly titled away from target, youre lifting during the backswing, or your just dipping your chin too low.

Your left cheek should line up with the backside on the ball on full swings with any club. I make it a part of my set up routine and feel i get proper tilt this way. With the proper spine tilt, all you need to worry about is rotating back. If youre thinking is left shoulder centric, try thinking of turning your right behind your head, instead.
