I think I am missing a wedge or two or something? I am just a noob so I don't know what is good. Any suggestions?

My Irons goes up to a W which is 50*. What is weird is it goes up to a 10 iron as well, which I have never seen before. So is my 10 Iron a Pitching Wedge? and the W a Gap wedge?

Thanks

Callaway may have added a 10-iron to bridge the gap between your 9 iron and 50* wedge. Maybe your set's lofts aren't standard so there was a bigger gap than usual. If it were me, I'd spring for a 56* sandwedge and call it good. Keep in mind you don't have to carry 14 clubs. It may be wiser to practice and hone your skills before purchasing clubs you likely don't need.

im not sure about the 10 iron but if i was you i would get rid of the 10 iron and buy a gap wedge and a sand wedge. and maybe a 3 hybrid if you feel you have a big gap between your 4i and your 5 wood.

I am thinking about getting a Vokey if I was to get a wedge. Do I have to get one of the Spin Milled ones or will a regular cast Vokey be fine ?

So what would that 10 Iron be used for? and what exactly is my 50* wedge? like a Pitching Wedge then?

Here are the lofts for your set:

4i - 23*
5i - 26*
6i - 29*
7i - 33*
8i - 37*
9i - 41*
10i - 45*
W - 50*

Because your set has strengthened lofts, there would have been a massive gap between your 9i and W. Callaway introduced a 10i to fill the hole.

If you buy clubs, dont buy one with the same lofts as these listed above. Oh and the Vokey spin milled wedges spin the ball like none other. If you spin the ball well anyway, you probably don't need one.

My guess is that a 10I is a PW, and the W in your irons is a type of gap wedge.

If I were you I'd get a 55* or 56*, and if you want a lob wedge (60* for example) you can but I don't think it's a necessity.

Sorry to bump this thread, but I am looking at 56* Vokey Wedges and would 14* of bounce be too much?

Your 10 is just a PW and your W is a Gap Wedge. 14 degrees of bounce on a 56 is good out of the sand or on wet, soft ground, but if you want to use it for a greater variety of shots and lies, I'd keep the bounce between 8-12.

Did you decide on two or one extra wedge? If only one wedge (I am guessing a 56 or so sand), then, depending on how far you hit your 4i and 5w, you might take a look at a hybrid that might sit in between those two, distance wise.
