I like to use a shorter shaft, right now i have a nike sq driver with a mitsubishi diamana 44 inch stiff flex shaft .Not to brag but distance for me is really not an issue for but I feel a shorter shaft gives me way more control. Just wondering how long is your shaft.

45.75" according to Ping.
Too long, according to most "experts" in the field.

Apparently gripping down is better than cutting the shaft...since cutting the shaft changes the weight etc...

Mine is 44.25 but actual playing length is 43.75-44, anything longer makes my swing way to flat and causes me to swing around my body (both things I've battled). It has not affected distance in any way but has done great things for my control and swing mechanics. My game has changed quite a bit recently and I don't hit it more than 4-5 times in a round. During those times being able to comfortably just rip it and know it's going where I aimed takes precedent over any added distance that can be gained by a longer shaft.

yeah when the shaft is shorter i feel so much more confident. I feel like i am hitting a short iron but when i swing other peoples drivers that are longer it just all goes wrong. But i think i need to get fitted.

You do need to get fitted, specially for the driver since the dispersion on a 200+ yard shot is much more significant. Having said that don't buy or game what you hit the longest but what you hit consistently better with your good and bad swings.

Got mine cut down to 44.5" I also had my driver fitted for me though too. I'm a naturally high spin hitter with my driver. Went with a UST V2, still hit it high. Finally coughed up the money for a real Whiteboard and got it CPM'ed to 278. Now I'm hitting mid to high flat rockets.

I have a 43" Dymo. The fiter said that it was my size but i have a feeling that it is too short. Plus, it uses a ust widebody, and cutting it down made it play even more stiff. Not to change the question, but does anyone think i should lengthen it to make it more flexable. There's no problem with my flight direction.

Was it tipped or cut from the grip end?

I am inclined to tell you that if it was cut from the grip end the stiffness profile shouldn't have changed as shafts are meant to be cut down from that end. Not an expert in club fitting but that is what I have always believed.

from the grip, but still very stiff, considering it's a widebody shaft as well.

If you feel that way then it most likely isn't the right shaft for you. Tried looking up the specs/trimming instructions for that shaft and was unable too. Anyways I'll stick with my original statement that having been cut from the grip end the stiffness should have varied minimally if at all. I cut down the AxivCore in my driver to 44.25 and feel no change, same thing with the V2s in my woods.
