I know I've seen pros do it on the practice green, but does anyone here hook in the ipod or mp3 player and listen to music while practicing. I am keen to try it next time I'm out, just worried bout the cords getting tangled up etc. with a full swing.

Let me know if you have done this successfully. Thanks

We all listen to The Sandtrap podcasts of course!

And maybe a little Metric - it's compatible with my swing tempo.

Might have to give this a try. I think a little Black Keys would be perfect for the range.

Actually, if your headphones fall out I think that means your head is moving too much. :D
I listen to a pretty wide range of music. I just put set it to random and practice. Mostly just drowns out people talking and stuff.

Tried it once because golf coach and I will never again.
Im a very musical person, when i listen to music most of my focus goes there and when im hitting shots thats a bad thing!

On the putting green it's quite good though, it makes me clear my head and focus on somthing else witch has now helped mr on the golf course!

at one of the ranges that I frequent they have music playing and I have noticed that during certain songs my hits are much better. I think it has to do with the rhythm causing my tempo to be consistent.

I would try different types of music to find something that has a good rhytym that compliments your tempo.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

I do, and wouldn't reccommend anything heavy, good slow tempo'd music really helps... it may sound lame, but it really hepls... Also listen to things that are calming... and get the head phones designed for runners as they won't fall out due to the hook that goes over your ear!

I listen to my ipod a lot when im on the range unless I am with someone. I find that I can focus more on feel and not try to get to mechanical with my swing. I listen to just about everything on a regular basis but I am a huge rock/metal/metalcore fan so I listen to hard stuff when I practice. For some reason the hard stuff relaxes me and I enjoy being relaxed when Im hitting balls. Since I started listen to my ipod on the range I find myself signing in my head on the course if I put myself in the rough/trees/trap to help reduce the stress of a bad shot.

It all depends who is around me. If there are a couple of loud mouths that I can't block out, I will go to the music. Doesn't happen too much but does seem to allow me to focus better.
