Hi all, come across you site when searching google, had a look round and you seemed a nice bunch so I decided to register.

I'm new to golf, infact my golfing career starts and ends at hitting a few balls on the driving range but I am looking at getting into the sport as some of my friends have been playing for a bit now and I don't want to miss out on the fun Anyway my reason for registering other then to converse with other golf enthusiasts is to find out the best way to get into the sport, whether you can teach your self to a good standard or are lessons the only way to go, what are the best clubs for a beginner etc. etc.

Anyway sorry to bore you and I look forward to reading your views and experience of the wonderful sport and hopefully pick up some usefull tips along the way.

welcome. just to set things straight - we're not a "nice bunch" (at least some of us) and you'll not learn much here... (at least not from me) but if you enjoy B.S. about golf - you came to right place!

make sure you start from visiting the "golf jokes" thread in the "grill room" section and see if you can add anything - it's been quiet there lately...
