Interesting Tourneys for 6-8 players?

We're finally going to have all the boys together this thanksgiving morning and we want to play some sort of tournament. There's 6 definites maybe 8. I was thinking of scramble with 3 or 4 teams or some sort of peoria rule tournament? We have a 2.3 hdcp on one end and 2 guys who will shoot 110 or higher. Anyone have any cool ideas for a way to make it more interesting?
I just realized if the surf is up this may not work. Half of us would probably rather surf...

I would probably let everyone play their own ball for skins. Then pick two teams of 3 or 4, and let the lowest score of the team count as the team score. If you want to make it more interesting, count all 3 combined. Plus 18 or 19 can still win a match when your counting everyone's score.

Yeah yeah I know. I just read a post titled last game of the year and I felt bad. I didn't comment because I didn't want to rub salt in the wounds. I wont put pants on unless we tee off before 7. Even then I'm in shorts by 8am. Year round. Really I could wear shorts even at 7am but putting pants on is somewhat of a novelty and is fun once or twice a year. HAHAHA.

I wish I was debating between surfing in Hawaii and golfing on Thanksgiving morning.


Unfortunately I'll be bundled up getting ready for the last freezing round of this season.

Waiting out the 2 feet of snow that just dropped on the course....

Try to divide into 2 equal (participants and skill level) groups. You can play the first 6 holes as your own ball, add the best two scores, and write down the total (each hole) as the team score. Play the next six holes as a shamble, add the best two scores and write down the total as the team score. Play the last six holes as a scramble and double the score as the team score. Add up the team score and the lowest wins.

You can also do skins within all this on the first 12 holes. If money is involved, you could make 4 separate betting windows by using each 6 hole total and the overall total, or just use the overall total.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.
