Is it just me or does ayone else think the CG12 is a way better club than the CG15, and CG14. The CG12 in the black pearl finish is just a simple design that just looks amazing and works..I hate looking at the lines on the face of the CG15 way to much going on and really the laser groooves dont add any spin compared to the CG12. And the Gel thing on the back of the CG14 - come on really...even the rep i was taking to said it was just a gimmick and thats why they left it off the new CG16 wedge..Am I the only one that feels this way?

I'd agree in general, but it mostly deals with the shape, as I don't like the shape of the CG15.

Cleveland, please bring back the 588 RTG...please?

Interesting. The rep I talked to said the opposite. He said the gelback was more effective at dampening vibration in steel-shafted clubs than Sensicore inserts. Plus, he said Sensicore can attract moisture and thus contribute to internal rusting. Note that gelback is used in several Cleveland iron models, and that AP1 and Ping S57 irons have similar inserts.

I test-hit both the CG12 and the CG14 before I got my 50.08 - the CG14 felt softer to me. Maybe gelback value could be a topic for an episode of Myth-busters.

I agree. I love my CG12s. I tried the CG15s, and they didn't look or feel as good.

I was only refering to the gel back in the CG14 - if you look at the new CG16 its the same club just new conforming grooves and no gelback...

Did the CG15s have an unusually short product cycle? Possibly due to the groove changes?
